Well, sounds good but definitely, they only intended for promotion not accepting Bitcoins or other cryptocurrencies. Well, maybe people asking now how come that cafe looks like there are many logos on crypto but the whole concept they did not accept bitcoin/cryptocurrency as a payment. Indeed, that was good since OP says it is illegal to their place to use bitcoin and through that cafe still there is the presence of cryptocurrency even their government prohibited on it.

this sounds nice but it mostly looks like they focused on the decor of their place, and without actually accepting bitcoin it is not much of a "bitcoin cafe" in my opinion, it is just a regular one with a lot of altcoin icons in the background of the shop.

you also mentioned "promotion", i don't think it is doing that either because bitcoin is already banned in Bangladesh so it wouldn't matter even if people were exposed to this, they still aren't going to buy bitcoin.

Is there anything special about this "Bitcoin Cafe" anyway? Besides just having bitcoin-related wall designs? They should've at least put up a television that displays live cryptocurrency prices, or maybe play CNBC Crypto videos or something.
The owner better know about bitcoin, I have had talked with him for hours. He is an expert man in tech. I don't know if he own. He said he don't.
The whole cafe was designed with various cryptographic design, I guess it will make visitor learn about cryptocurrency. I am sure most of them ask what that means, why the design are like this etc. They will somehow know that there's something existed namely cryptocurrency, bitcoin. Isn't it much for us? At the end, when bitcoin will be legal, I guess they all will be more interested.

What if other business establishments name themselves after cryptocurrencies? Bitcoin Laundry Shop, or Ethereum Shopping Center, or perhaps Waves Outdoor Shop. Do you think this will hasten the legalization of crypto in your country?

Is Libra a good cryptocurrency? No.
But still it will help cryptocurrency go more mainstream and increase the adoption. I'm sure it will increase the crypto adoption.
In the same way, this type of name can play as great role to promote.
People will search with the word in google and will get what it is. Isn't it a good way?

Why don't you ask him if he is willing to accept bitcoin if the government legalizes it? He is probably saying no to you to avoid getting in trouble.
Libra isn't going to go beyond the US if at all. I see zero reason for anyone to bother with it. Zuckerberg behind it is reason enough for me to stay away from it.

I would say he is unfairly profiting from the Bitcoin brand, even if you see it as some kind of pacific protest.

Actually there is no prohibition if someone opens a coffee shop with the theme cryptocurrency, of course it will attract someone to visit there, which we know that children today prefer to see modern coffee shops like the picture above, at least it will make it easier for many teens to know and introduce Cryptocurrency to visitors ...

It's not just by the name but it sticked with the motif.

Ehh I don't think so. It's a "Bitcoin cafe", but of all things that they could place in in addition, they've chosen a Ripple logo?

Very cool place for bitcoin and altcoins enthusiast, I've never seen a kind of place like this in our country or in my area to be specific that's why I admire the owner's initiative, he is helping in spreading an awareness and I'm guessing in this place you can pay crypto coins and not bitcoin alone  as he has different crypto logos in the cafe.

Ironic, isn't it that here comes a Bitcoin Cafe but you can not spend your bitcoin in there just use your fiat to have your coffee served fast. I agree that this is the reminder for the people and the government to soon change their mindset on cryptocurrency before it is too late. I am sure that bitcoin and cryptocurrency can be helping a lot of people in Bangladesh and the government can be able to collect additional taxes from the business. I am suggesting that people who are into cryptocurrency in this country band themselves together and make some allies with people of the government who are sympathetic to the cause.

Bitcoin is illegal there so why on earth the owner will even attempt to consider opening up a bitcoin payment.

And government there knows what bitcoin can do, even the potential and how it can be a big help. It's just that they are seeing something that we can't see and understand that's why they ended up banning bitcoin on their country.

As per the OP, good thing they saw some possibility of lifting up the ban, someday in the future.

Are you sure it's not some sort of honeypot designed by authorities to identify crypto enthusiasts? Lol.

Either way, it won't do much in the way of promotion if the subject is banned in the country in the first place. It's pretty interesting in that it shows Bitcoin has embedded itself in pop culture, but not much else.

It really doesn't matter if the owner knows about Bitcoin or actually owns Bitcoin though, because most of the customers don't know that. I think they should do a bit more to actually make the cafe an actual Bitcoin-affiliated cafe, not just a basic cafe with Bitcoin designs in it.

I have never seen something take this long to be honest.
This was because of the stupid people controlling the Finance Ministry. I have watched an interview where someone from the ministry of finance had talked about bitcoin. To be honest, they have zero knowledge on this. Most of them are still in the believe that bitcoin is a payment system for illegal product. Here, we don't have perfect person in responsibility.

This thing is totally relative. This is something that will change according to what will happen to cryptocurrencies in the future.

That's really something a different way of promoting bitcoin as well getting more people know about bitcoin. Bangladesh being a country to oppose bitcoin getting such a Cafe might have faced some inspection from government. People who have got adopted to the cryptocurrency network will continue to use bitcoin or help promote bitcoin through the possible ways.

In Bangladesh, people are not allowed to use bitcoin or any other cryptocurrency. Govt has declared it illegal. The great news is our current Finance Ministry is thinking over it and we will probably be seen Bitcoin legal in the coming years.

wow, that is one super slow legal system they have over in Bangladesh. first I heard about them banning bitcoin was a couple of years ago. and all this time all the other countries in the world specially their neighbors have been adopting bitcoin. and now that someone has made a different statement they say it takes "years"! I have never seen something take this long to be honest.

It often happens that people are drawn to the fact that they are forbidden. This is human nature. Man reaches for freedom in all its manifestations. In the end, regulators will be forced to reconsider their attitude to cryptocurrencies. Evolution will win anyway. The blockchain has a lot of potential and you can't just ignore it. Someone understands this earlier, someone later, but still everyone will come to this. The main thing is that large countries such as the USA and China will accept bitcoins, other countries will follow them.

In Dhanmondi, there's a cafe namely "The Bitcoin Cafe". Although they don't accept bitcoin or any other cryptocurrency, I see it as a great way of promotion, people will learn more about Bitcoin and cryptocurrency. I have visited this cafe 2 times and asked to pay with Bitcoin but he wasn't agreed.

Yeah, I always wanted to go to a cinema that has no movies and to a restaurant that doesn't serve food or drinks. /s
But seriously, is there also a prostitution cafe or a drug addict cafe?  After all, both would be legal...

Is there anything special about this "Bitcoin Cafe" anyway? Besides just having bitcoin-related wall designs? They should've at least put up a television that displays live cryptocurrency prices, or maybe play CNBC Crypto videos or something.

Yeah, they use the name to attract customers while doing nothing.
Wait till this catches on and you are going to have Ethereum Cafe, Bitcoin Dark Coffee, FirstBlood Cafe....

In some countries there are still cafes like this.  I think that with the name related to the coin, only the crypto followers will come here and join the conversation.  They will talk about crypto-related topics comfortably without fear of disturbing others.

I don't understand how you can talk about something without disturbing to strangers just because you have the same subject.
If you're in cofee shop unless you shout like an asshole nobody will care, and if you're in a cafe and do the shouting nobody will forgive you just because you shout buy hodl, you're still going to be annoying.

Beautiful! This reminds me of non-violent revolution topics way back when I was in college. The cafe remains legal for sure. They abide by the rules of not accepting Bitcoin since the country is considering it as such. But then it does not mean that they cannot advance what they think is a good thing. In a non-violent way, the cafe was thought of.
