I think what you are asking is if the BTC symbol is an alt code.

Most likely not. Unless they involve BTC in which case they would probably have some other combination of characters to generate it.

i just said "for THIS forum". i don't post on other BTC forums, so I have no idea of that tag will work elsewhere. try it other places and find out.

but with no space between btc and the brackets.

I've seen the bitcoin symbol, BTC, other places than on this forum and I'm wondering what keystrokes are required to make it?
