Enquiring minds want to know why you are sending yourself PMs. Talking to yourself is the first sign of cryptomania. Smiley

+1 for making me laugh

It goes away after a month of activity, just suck it up. Like owlcat mentioned, people make fake accounts all the time posing as trusted members. As dumb as it sounds, the warning should be there.

Haha I do what I can. I guess that makes sense though. Hopefully soon I will cross and become a part of the Bitcoin Talk Brotherhood.

What is this the noob scarlet letter? If an imposter can make an identical account name that wouldn't make much sense.. Being a 'Newbie' here is like being a Pledge without the alcohol

It only serves as a notice like owlcatz said.
Using a newbie account is more possible to elaborate a great paradigm/scheme in which could involve a larger scale of scamming someone.

(this is an imposter) is only a warning sign that a newbie account could be someone you knew and pull a mischievous stunt. Smiley

!! WARNING: This user is a newbie. If you are expecting a message from a more veteran member, then this is an imposter !!!

People have been scammed many times by imposters using a similar account name (Identical is impossible), such as adding a ` character at the end. So, you can thank the scammers. Tongue
