You can ignore an unprecedented event by the single most experienced person alive and assume your opinion is better than his but no offense bro I'll stick with Justice Stevens unprecedented move by offering his opinion.

Justice Stevens also thinks that the second amendment should be banned. Should I consider him an expert in the field and instantly agree with what he thinks? Disregarding everything else? Just because he's a Supreme Court Justice, wouldn't make his opinion any more important on the matter in my eyes -- I think he's someone that doesn't like Kavanaugh due to his political views and he's without a doubt not going to support his nomation. He's a Democrat, plain and simple with no reason to have to like the guy (it's not like he's on the court and has to keep his opinion to himself)

What are you talking about with that red herring?  I noticed you didn't answer the question.  Nothing about asking for the POTUS to open a supplemental background investigation after new allegations is unethical, illegal, immoral or anything.  Bush did it for Thomas as referenced above.

I said what I said before because you said...

The question now is would you call the President and ask him to get the best agency in the world to try to clear your name?  Or would you sit back and the black cloud hang over you and let everyone make an uniformed decision based on no facts.

I went further into saying why I didn't support the rest of the investigations, though YOUR COMMIE BASTARD SELF, only quoted a portion FAKE FAKE FAKE NEWS.

It's always fun chatting with ya Hellfish!

Occam's razor bro, Kavanaugh had EVERYTHING to gain and absolutely nothing to lose by asking for a full investigation if he was 100% innocent. Clarence Thomas and George Bush did a full investigation.

1. Do you think with the amount of leaks that are in the Trump administration, that Kavanaugh would be able to get away with making this sort of phone call and Trump ordering the FBI to listen to him without anyone in the media finding out? The media finds out about things with MUCH lesser importance, this would come out in a second if it was true -- but that's just my view of the leaks and such.

What are you talking about with that red herring?  I noticed you didn't answer the question.  Nothing about asking for the POTUS to open a supplemental background investigation after new allegations is unethical, illegal, immoral or anything.  Bush did it for Thomas as referenced above.

Would it make it easier for you to actually answer the question if I said he could have done an Op Ed, open email, public request or hell even asked for it during the hearing when the Dem Senator asked him if he wanted one, requesting Trump direct the FBI to open a supplemental investigation to clear his name so there is no worries about leaks?

The whole, he's not fit for the bench thing is a subjective question -- and while I do think that he is fit for the bench, and many respected people do as well. But we must remember that it's going to be subjective on if he is fit for the bench, though I personally do think that he is.

Of course it's subjective which is why SC Justices have NEVER (AFAIK) publicly stated there subjective opinion that a nominee is NOT fit for the bench.

Yet the first time it has ever happened was by the 3rd longest serving Justice of the Supreme Court of the United States of America.

You can ignore an unprecedented event by the single most experienced person alive and assume your opinion is better than his but no offense bro I'll stick with Justice Stevens unprecedented move by offering his opinion.

And the whole thing about bogging down the WH with investigations -- why?

Because the House will want to ensure things were done properly, I believe your Founders called it Checks and Balances, I was under the impression that was important to Americans, guess not hehe, you facist!

None of you get it. The more extreme you get the more you are actually stumping for the right. All the media in the world can't confirm your bias enough for what is coming. The left have crossed the event horizon and are being sucked into a point of infinitely compressed mass of their own bullshit.

Okay, there is a name for this sort of event.

Completely outside of the sexual misconduct allegations you have an unprecedented move by the legal community where thousands of legal professionals signed a letter expressing their view that Bart wasn't fit for the bench.

Also even more unprecedented is a former justice going on the record stating Bart wasn't fit for the bench.

Republicans won, that's a fact but at what cost guys.  When the house goes blue they are going to bog down trumps WH with investigation after investigation.  The justice Kavanaugh story is only beginning.

I mean I'm going to go through a good amount of things in the statement.

We haven't seen anything on Trump-Russia, just the Mueller investigation going outside of their purview and not doing anything related to their original stated purpose.

Exactly, this is just fishing expedition after fishing expedition with the primary intent of obstruction. We have laws about this kind of thing for a reason. Mob justice doesn't work. Like any good magician or con artist they need to keep moving from shit show to shit show all the while hoping everyone forgets the last one, because if you stop to look back the misdirection fails. Also to keep everyone's attention each needs to be bigger, more dramatic, and more violent than the last for this to work.

None of you get it. The more extreme you get the more you are actually stumping for the right. All the media in the world can't confirm your bias enough for what is coming. The left have crossed the event horizon and are being sucked into a point of infinitely compressed mass of their own bullshit.

Cool story bro. You keep doubling down. See how that works out. I wouldn't want to interrupt.

I ain't doubling down on shit bro, Chief Justice Roberts and the 10th circuit court is getting in the game now bro, you can ignore it if you want but uhh sticking your head in the sand isn't going to change the facts!

He's gonna be the shortest serving SC Justice in the history of your country, Party Barty just loves all these firsts!!!

Convenient when you can just delete purposeful jokes at your expense isn't it? I guess it is one of the perks of debating as a moderator, you can just delete what you disagree with (as long as you have some flimsy justification you know no one will check you on).

I guess that is easier than, I don't know... producing a modicum of evidence to prove life destroying accusations of rape before trying a man in the court of public opinion (aka a mob).

But consider this for a moment.

Side "A" is set to party because they are winning big time.

Side "B" is set to party because they have a fantasy world filled with fake polls, corrupt news media reporting only what they are supposed to report, and powerful fools pulling the strings.

HEY, EVERYONE'S PARTYING!!!

For a while....

As has been pointed out never interrupt your opponent when they are making a mistake!

It's a good idea to carefully consider whether they are actually making a mistake. Mobs don't do a very good job of that...

He did have a full investigation, 7 of them.

Guess what, he now gets to add a judicial review prompted by an ethics complaint issued to Chief Justice Roberts to his record.  Chief Justice Roberts has decided that the 10th circuit court of appeals will review current and new allegations concerning Bart ethics!

Bart is racking up an impressive number of firsts!!!  He is now the first sitting Justice to be subject to a judicial review thanks to his temper tantrum, lol.

Perfect timing for the dems on this one, I assume Chief Justice Roberts is in on the Clinton revenge plot and left wing hoax eh?

LMFAO I look forward to the day I read about Bart resigning haha, hopefully it happens before old Party Barty can do real damage to the SC and just maybe at a time when dems control the senate LOL!

yet even more asinine rambling

He did have a full investigation, 7 of them. You know what helps if you want to prosecute a crime, or even identify a perpetrator? A single piece of evidence helps for starters. Too bad none was presented what so ever, just words.

~Snip~

I got a question for you brewski!

Let me frame this for you.
Squatz is a powerful rich white guy.
Squatz is up for a job only 9 people on the planet hold at one time.
Squatz has the POTUS on speed dial!!  Cool
Squatz is an adoring husband and father who had a few beers from time to time in HS and college but never once acted in a sexually inappropriate way in his entire life.
Squatz is accused of attempted rape and other heinous criminal acts and is 100% innocent.
Sqautz is 100% sure since he didn't do this that it is a political hit job on him, an orchestrated hoax, a conspiracy to delay his job promotion.
Sqautz and many others feel this could ruin his and his families lives and forever tarnish his image in him in his new important job.
The FBI is on the POTUS's speed dial and can order the FBI who has ~12000 agents available to try and clear your name and prove the hoax. conspiracy, Squatz' innocence.
Squatz knows the POTUS really really really wants him to get the job.

The question now is would you call the President and ask him to get the best agency in the world to try to clear your name?  Or would you sit back and the black cloud hang over you and let everyone make an uniformed decision based on no facts.

I just don't know how people are able to believe the allegations with such little proof, have we entered a society where we're guilty before proven innocent? I don't want that to be the new wave for our country.

This mans life was almost ruined (and will be forever tainted) in an attempt to smear him, I don't get it....

I don't think we watched the same hearings.

I'll boil it down to a simple point at first.

Do you believe that devil's triangle sounds more like a drinking game (like beer pong or quarters) or like a kinky sex act?

Here's Kavanaugh's definition of Devil's triangle.

Refer to this clip:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PDDehM0cfOI

Is this a satisfactory answer to you?

I could break down this single exchange further but I trust you're not actually retarded.

"You ever play quarters?"
"No"
"Ok, (self satisfied I'm off the hook now! smile on Brett's face), it's a quarters game.

This kept happening throughout. Kavanaugh wasted time and evaded questions and the senators abandoned their lines of questioning.

Then here's a bit about Kavanaugh's character.

Would you say that someone who boasts about fucking a particular girl, naming her, singling her out and saying he's "an alumnius of" her is someone who respects women? Especially in the 1980's?

And that's where one of the 65 women who signed a letter supporting Kavanaugh's claim of good moral character suddenly broke rank.

Quote from: Vox
Dolphin appears not to have known about the yearbook in-joke until recently — and when she found out, she was so upset that she withdrew her endorsement of the sign-on letter.

“I don’t know what ‘Renate Alumnus’ actually means,” Dolphin told the Times. “I can’t begin to comprehend what goes through the minds of 17-year-old boys who write such things, but the insinuation is horrible, hurtful and simply untrue. I pray their daughters are never treated this way.”

The “insinuation” in question is spelled out by two classmates of Kavanaugh’s, who told the Times the yearbook jokes were a form of bragging about sexual “conquest.”

I don't know if you re-call the allegations, but the alleged assault, is a very failed version of devil's triangle, one where the woman doesn't consent and the other guy is 50/50 on the whole raping a 15 year old girl with my best friend situation.

I'm not saying you should believe Dr. Ford's story. What I'm saying is that this case is riddled with red flags and regardless of whether the assault happened or not our Supreme court is now an extra 1/9th garbage.

More to the topic at hand. In computer programming they say, Garbage In Garbage Out.

We put garbage people into the supreme court, we shouldn't be surprised to be seeing garbage decisions coming out of it.

Kavanaugh also has voiced the opinion that the president should not be challenged during his reign. I think that's why Trump chose him out of the rest.

The Trump family has cheated the tax system in so many ways that you could start a fictional universe based around them. He needs the argument that the president needs to be isolated from criminal charges so he can focus on the more important job of governing.

We'll see how this whole thing plays out. I'm guessing the continuing erosion of our collective rights as american citizens.

After watching the hearings I believed the allegations. I don't believe he deserved to be in the supreme court. I mean, I thought we filled our quota of massive creeps with Clarence Thomas.

I don't think Kavanaugh understands the importance of separation of powers. The court is supposed to be free from influence but he's openly biased (as he was during the hearings) against the democratic party.

I personally dislike both major parties but even if I was a republican I wouldn't consider that a win.

He's not supposed to be anti-abortion but his bias might make him fall in line and under the influence of the republicans. That can't be good.

i just think that this is a guy that was always in some sort of public life / political life. As he was part of the Kenn Starr investigation into Clinton, Then apart of the Bush Administration, Then a Federal Judge (appointed by Bush, during a recess I think), and now a Supreme Court Justice.

There were more than enough times before where this could have been used if it was legitimate, and it would have done the same sort of damage and probably sunk him then. I don't know why this had to come up now....

I know it may be tough for some to accept (cough cough flying hellfish commie bastard cough cough) But we, in the United States, have our newest Supreme Court Justice on the court. He has been confirmed by one of the slimmest margins in history when it comes to justices and will go down as the most controversial justice nomination (talking about the process, and what occurred during it) that has successfully made it onto the court.

I'd like to speak to everyone in the P&S section and see exactly what you think about the man. What you think he's going to do, and what you think his nomination is going to mean for the future of the US country and American politics.

I do think that the sexual assault allegations against him are going to invigorate the Republican base to go out and defend their seats for this midterm election. I don't think we're going to see an overturning of Roe V Wade, but I do know that we're going to see the Conservative presence back on the court that we haven't had for a long time.
