pmalek states he can see the cache why?
I didn't see it here on the forums. It is available on a site that caches internet websites. I will not mention where, for obvious reasons, but if you want the link you can PM me and I will send it to you. You saw the original thread so it's all right.

as asked for:  I obscured it.

Can I ask to edit the link in OP (topic=5xxxxx4.0) since it is archived as iasenko mentioned and not only in loyce.club but in other websites. A quick search (wxxx...xxx4[at]yahoo.com) and i found the same topic posted over and over in many forums, most of it deleted except in 2 or 3 forums. One time he/she is explaining his bullshit... Same spammed username ofc in every forum...

Once it is out there, it is out there. All it takes is one asshat to get the information and abuse it until the owners realize. Once it is up it is already too late, so the time it takes to remove is largely irrelevant.

The person that has cached the threads is the issue which is a secondary point to bring up should a thread like the 2 mentioned be cached and available for any one to see.

Both threads are certainly wrong.  So is saving a wrong thread in a cache wrong?

I would say yes it is.  But I am just a guy typing on my keyboard in New Jersey .
Actually preserving the evidence is a good thing. In the unlikely event that this scammer ever comes to the attention of the authorities, the cached post is just another little piece of evidence that can ensure a conviction.

yeah but letting everyone access a dox cache not so good.

should be more secure.

trust me as i am a person that is illegally doxxed with no ability to correct it . as the site doxxing me is based in a bs spot and i cant go after it.

bitcointalk.org could be hassled for allowing access to that cache .

to me the thread was obviously wrong and viewing it is something that should require restricted access.

pmalek states he can see the cache why?

not complaining just questioning procedure to protect bitcointalk.org and the forum members.

how about a different example.

a clear set of photos of child porn involving a three month old baby 👶 with doxing info on how to use that baby.

this would not be too good to cache as it is criminal material.

if you cache it you would very likely send it to authorities and once they have it. i would delete the cache.

this material was not quite as bad but it is criminal info. i would not cache it and not talk to law enforcement.

but as i said i jsu a guy in New Jersey typing on my iPad mini.

@philipma1957
Please don't take this the wrong way, but this thread of yours is pointing users in the wrong direction. Here is why. I never saw the original thread where the user was offering credit card info. But your thread made me curious, I researched and found the cached unedited version. If I can do it, others can as well.

The 2nd example is similar. Those with bad intentions now know where to look.
I think it's something to consider because you are unintentionally giving these people some importance.

Along the same lines here is an offer in marketplace.

https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.54173894

Not 100% certainly illegal like the first thread but pretty much can't be a good thing.

Theymos mentioned reporting threads that are certainly wrong.

This thread is most likely a crime or a scam attempt.

If I were a mod I would nuke it as it can't be legit.

It has stayed in place a few days. I posted a warning post and try as I might I can not figure anyway it can be legal.

You would be defrauding the seller (amazon or whatever) or the op would be scamming you or a honey pot by a government agent trying to trap you.

No legit purpose that I can figure for the thread.

this one had more detail than anyone I had ever seen so I started this thread...

I saw a couple of those myself. With all the details you could think of. Was nuked on the spot.
Bright side is that these posts mostly end up in Bitcoin Discussions board, since they don't know where to post them, and stand out like a sore thumb. Usually nuked within minutes.
I assume they just buy expired personal info from the dark web and use them as bait. They may be real, but as you said... expired CC etc
And wait to scam the potential buyer.

if dark webbers did 100 or two hundred a day on bitcointalk our website could be targeted

If we were to turn a blind eye to them probably you would be right. But since the nuke hammer will hit them hard every time, should not have much to worry about ... I hope Smiley)

This stuff gets spammed & quickly deleted all the time. Use the "report to moderator" link.

I did that do that but this one had more detail than anyone I had ever seen so I started this thread.
My fear was three fold:

the people doxxed in detail could be robbed.

if dark webbers did 100 or two hundred a day on bitcointalk our website could be targeted

lastly

if it was simply a honey pot from a government agency.
which would hurt our website if someone connected to our website site uses it and is caught.

I agree. Because if you post such things in a thread, that might entice some individuals here to scrape the data if they can.

Good thing I was late to the party Cheesy

What did I miss? Where there any Bitcointalk users among the leaked private data? I see that Loyce already censored everything. Thanks for the prompt reaction. Maybe leaving the first name and the name of country wouldn't be that bad. If someone sees that his first name and country is correct, he should maybe take further steps.

Edit: I just found the cached version of the thread. At least the cards mentioned expired a long time ago, hopefully the rest of it it can't be abused.

Is there are way to warn those people that their data is compromised so they can block their cards?
The post even included some phone numbers. If you really want, you can try contacting them or their bank, but I wouldn't be surprised if this information is fake, or the cards are blocked already.

All those f@ckers doing this should be jailed for life.

Some dude was stealing post in my area a few months ago, fucking asshole took out loans & credit cards in a few of my neighbours names. I caught him, got his car registration & gave it to the police. He got away with over £40,000 in loans & cards.

Luckily my privacy game is on point, I have everything ‘paperless’ so he didn’t get me.

I agree, credit card fraud & identity theft should hold a jail sentence.

i hope this does not happen over and over again.

I am reporting such topics almost every week. Some show more data, some just imply that.
However, selling illegal stuff is against bitcointalk rules and such topics have to be reported for deletion.
Without us reporting it's not easy for mods to find them fast.

At least this is a good sign:

An Error Has Occurred!
The topic or board you are looking for appears to be either missing or off limits to you.

Good glad it was removed.

you know posting dox like that could be a way to attack bitcointalk.

i hope this does not happen over and over again.

at mods thanks for deletion.

To be honest I have never seen that style of doxxing on bitcointalk.

If we were to get this a lot it would be an issue.

Assuming the info is correct and people  use it to steal.
