I love this chat before you chat idea.
It's a bit like the creeping death, where room of strangers are meant to get to know one another. Thankfully no one is going to look at me say, "hello, please tell us who you are, why you're here, and a little about yourself today". I'd always volunteer to go first, saves the creeping bit. Thankfully not had to go through that in years.
I always wanted to say, "don't know, the free booze, and I like to eat. What time does the bar open?"
