I do wonder, honestly, what the D stands for?  Downtown Las Vegas?  Anyone care to answer this one?

The owners are from Detroit.

Just curious, what is the D?

I am somewhat surprised places in Las Vegas are accepting Bitcoin.  Vegas is a city all about money, and seeing as how they could technically lose money by accepting Bitcoin(if it were to crash) they are taking a gamble.  Most places in Vegas don't gamble, they have some sort of edge to make sure they are always in profit.

can you even pay with bitcoin in casino and hotels?

If all of the giant "NOW ACCEPTING BITCOIN" signs are to be believed, then yes.
actually,this image specifies it

Is the video SFW?

Yes, it is definitely safe for viewing.

There was actually quite a bit of promotion going on through the entire restaurant/casino.  You couldn't get a drink without seeing Bitcoin all around you.

Nice, didn't know The D is where Fitzgerald's used to be.

Cool video OGNasty!  Just getting exposure at a public level in a casino in Las Vegas is a good start.

Once a major casino MGM, Wynn, Caesar's etc start accepting and publicly mentioning Bitcoin will be great step in the right direction.

You know what I'm thinking? A very good option especially for those people who wants privacy and don't want to let others know what they spent their money on  Grin
With credit card, basically you will leave traces on where you've been, but for bitcoin....wow

There is also a BTC ATM on the strip in Vegas. It is in what is essentially a souvenir shop that is not connected to any casino.

I am somewhat surprised that more casinos do not have options for their patrons to convert bitcoin to casino chips as I would think that many people would want to gamble with their bitcoin (similar to how many people are willing to gamble with their bitcoin on various gambling sites)

Probably worried about the legal stand point, look at pokerstars they have taken ages to come around to BTC and are only now just considering it.  If the casinos aren't broke no need to fix them.  Looking forward to more BTC acceptance in vegas.
