Everybody lately compare all new ICO's to "The DAO". I assume it was also some ICO which was complete SCAM, but I couldn't find anywhere more information. Can you please tell me what exactly happened? I would like to read some articles and find out more about it. Thank you.
Basically the code "code is law" for the DAO was wrong. Someone figured out how to bleed off millions of ETH into their own wallet because of a bug in the code. So the ETH foundation decided to roll back the blockchain and undo those transactions. Many people did not like this because its a big no no in the cryptocurrency world. So it spawned a new chain called Eth Classic where the hacker still has the funds he stole.
And now were here with a blockchain that everyone is using but it does not have the capacity to support this many users.. haha..
