What brings someone to post a thread like this?
Why is this forum so full of bizarro posts like these?

/shrugs/

Becuase the bitcoin trendline recently is so boring and the forum is no fun for a long time

Isn't bitcoin a currency? Aren't currencies supossed to have a static price ideally? Just lol.
And yes, I hope Bitcoin goes to 1 million dolar since this would be the only way Bitcoin could change the lifes of those that didn't enter in the early ass days, but I don't think that's possible. 10K? maybe. 1 million cash? Thats nuts imo. We missed the boat already, only pain and tears now.

I'm thinking this is a bit of a hoop dream folks.  I hope I'm wrong but for the sake of saying it I think this is not likely all of us will be millionaires.  It just seems more like fantasy but I will still hope for the best! HODL

Shoot while we are at it, maybe the Iraqi dinar can be worth $1 too... haha

The odd dogecoin going up to 1 usd wasn't too far fetched a few months ago.

100,000,000,000 doges total, that is, 100 trillion market cap at $1 each. World PIB around 80 trillion.

Yes, really close to happen. Or like the Persian messenger would say: this is madness!

When the exchange is regulated by government, the exchange rate can be anything. soviet rouble went for 25 cents each while the black market prices were 10 times worse. So nothing would keep north korea from having it's Won at $1000 per one, not like they have any goods to export Smiley

You would have to keep in mind what the world would be like if the price ever even got that high.  What would have to take place from now til then for such a high price to be realized.  Will a million dollars even be as much as it is today?  I'm not even sure it is really worth speculating on at this time because there are so many more milestones before we reach that price I'm more concerned about..

Too many people spend too much time considering what will drive the price of bitcoin up. I tend to look at it the other way around, in that fiat is on a road to it's own demise, what can governments do to reverse that? Once you realise the difficulties involved in answering that, then the certainty of crypto dominance in general and bitcoin in particular becomes apparent. The question is when not if, you could spend your life searching in vain for an alternative to invest in with a more certain future than bitcoin. Just be prepared to be patient and HODL FOREVER!

I think this way too.. Well put!

One Token to Move Anything Anywhere

I'm convinced crypto currencies will be trillions but it's a guessing game who'll receive the most share.   The thing is Bitcoin's capitalization is so small relative to the size of this potential market (trillions) that Bitcoin might still be replaced by a present or upcoming alternate.

I can't see another alt overtaking Bitcoin without some serious manipulation going on. The established ones have pretty pathetic track records and it seems like every new one is a get-rich quick project for the devs / pump groups or an outright scam.

Say though, for the sake of facile argument, Mark Zuckerburg decided to throw his backing behind something like Reddcoin by letting them use Facebook as a platform for their "social currency"... partnerships with already established big business and things like that might begin shifting the balance of power, although to be honest in the above scenario I could see Litecoin being surpassed but not Bitcoin, by a long shot yet.

The dot.com bubble in the late 1990s was $7 trillion and it created billionaires like Mark Kuban overnight.    It's technically amazing things got that big considering that estimates suggest only like 2% of the world's population was even using the internet (compared to 39% today).

The more recent housing bubble of 2008 was $10 trillion.  Worldwide there's $97 trillion investments, of which $2 trillion is gold.  There's also $400 trillion in derivatives.

Crypto currencies at $10 billion is almost nothing - dropbox is worth more than Bitcoin and yet I don't see governments around the world trying to ban dropbox or write laws on it.  The governments already realize the potential in crypto currencies but it's an education issue we are facing.  The merchants could really speed up things if they offered 1% to 2% discounts to people who pay in crypto currencies.

Good analysis. If BTC = GOLD then that would be a 500x increase. Seems about right over the next years/decade.

If you want to be a millionaire you should go out and do something awesome to try to earn a million dollars instead of just hodling bitcoin in hopes that it becomes worth a million dollars and you become rich doing nothing =/

Something like shuffle manure around, just quicker than anyone else? Maybe super long days and no vacations? No. Every fortune that has been created by means of merit, has been made by creating something new, a new process, meeting the demand of customers in a better way than the competition (those created without merit, of course by exploiting the force of the government).

Bitcoin was created by the inventor, helped by the developers, executed by the miners, supported by the service companies. The important holders are the ones that envisioned and still envision what it can be, a super effective money system. The holders make sure the coin has value before it's effectiveness in fact can be demonstrated. There are two goals. To be a store of value, taking waste of resources like houses out of the saving process, and shaving off at least 2-3 percent cost of every fucking trade in the world. That is progress, and the holders take part in creating that.

Speculator who think bitcoin will make them rich is what make me so pessimist in the coin.

Do early adopter expect price to go up this high?

why is there a general aversion to speculators and Hodlers ?

That is because the speculator will cash out one day causing the price to fall down and even sometimes crash the market, this is the reason people hate and even say speculation is the mother of all evil..

But think again when it comes to bicoin, a speculator trying to buy bitcoin now and wishing to dump it at when it reaches a million dollar per coin , would never do so because the whole economy will be changed to a point where you can buy almost anything and everything with bitcoins, that is the reason a bitcoin goes for a million dollar each, with that the need to sell bitcoin does not arise for the speculator and he just spends the coin ultimately further strengthening the bitcoin economy.

So in bitcoin case it is very different, there will be no crash after the million dollar bitcoin.

Educating yourself is good, this has value especially if you are able to use that education for something productive or useful. Perhaps you can spread that education further to a bigger audience or use it to start a business or write software for instance. However staring at charts all day and keeping yourself updated on all the news to hopefully get an idea where the price is heading next is hard work but has very little value imo.

Isn't that the proper way? And no, don't worry, greedy parasites won't ride on bitcoin train for long, everyone but the true believers will be shaken off early. Because when you have 10,000 people posting on one forum, there will always be crazy types among them. I also hate these kind of posts filled with delusional greed, it sometimes makes me doubt whether Bitcoin can truly change the world for the better when we have these kinds of parasites onboard who bring absolutely nothing of real value to the world and can only mentally masturbate about becoming rich one day by just sitting on their ass and holding coins. Somehow I doubt it's going to be that easy, and I also hope it's not because that would be karma doing its job well. Wink

I'm convinced crypto currencies will be trillions but it's a guessing game who'll receive the most share.   The thing is Bitcoin's capitalization is so small relative to the size of this potential market (trillions) that Bitcoin might still be replaced by a present or upcoming alternate.

But that's the thing, why would companies want to pass on the savings they get on transaction fees to consumers? For them, they couldn't care less about Bitcoin going places; it's just another alernative payment method that convert to fiat after the purchase anyway. Bitcoin could be replaced, but honestly what other altcoin has enough impetus and userbase to get merchant adoption at this point. Unless something catastrophic happens to Bitcoin, altcoins are just going to be pump and dumps all day long.

they pay 2% on transaction fees, keep 1%, give the other 1% back so you'll have way higher volume of crypto sales, therefor they increase the number of times they get to keep the other 1%. you're right tho alt coins are worthless theres a reason they call em scam coins.
