The energy produced by Romanian wind farm will be used for mining
Canadian company Transeastern Power Trust has purchased a wind farm Dorobanțu in Romania. The power produced by 15 wind-driven power plants with a total capacity of 45 megawatts will be used for bitcoin mining.
According to the local media resource, the company from Ontario has already bought the mining equipment for $23 mln. The estimated efficiency of the new farm will amount to 90,7 PH/s, which will allow mining about 30 BTC per day.
“We are becoming the pioneers of a new and reliable business model implementation, there the utility provider is being transformed into the department of a vertically integrated company, which specializes in cryptocurrency mining”, — says CEO of Transeastern J.Colter Eadie.
The company is developing the similar project in the Netherlands. Due to the new vector of the business development, the managing board of the company has decided to change the name to Blockchain Power Trust.
