Can I just say that I totally forgive you. Life can get a little bit messy sometimes. It's perfectly understandable, particularly with such a small team working on this project. I wish you and your family well (and more than simply wishing, I will continue to work hard at the cutting edge of genomics research to help everyone avoid preventable and treatable ill-health).

For me this was always a long-term investment so I'm not affected negatively by these developments. I am slightly disappointed that you feel the need to remove the BTC only limitation however. There is seriously no reason why you can't raise 20+ BTC in the next week or two. All it requires is a little bit more exposure on the appropriate media channels - e.g. coindesk, bitcoin magazine, bitcoin reddit etc. This is real news!

I would be willing to invest even more money (2+ BTC) if you consider using the Counterparty Protocol again. Hello everyone,

I'm extremely sorry. We've had some pretty heavy family health issues and a housing problem come all at once down here. These last couple weeks have been rather bad for us. I've been knee deep and haven't been able to pay close to any attention to the project in the last few days. Fortunately things are starting to clear up for us now, and yesterday we signed a lease for a new place. That said, days flew by, we reached our due date and I have to talk about where we stand.

We intend to keep going and move ahead, but realistically we need and will re-launch the full campaign with a more all-around exposition in either Indiegogo or Crowdtilt or StartJoin, more material and removing the BTC only payment limitation (which was one of our original goals of having it exclusively funded in BTC, but it ain't happening). I'm still working on the details on how we'll be moving forward and will finish thinking and deciding through the weekend and post the plan on Monday.

As of now however, those of you who wanna opt-out (if you're patient please bare with me till Monday) are free to do so. Please clearly state so here and Gweedo will proceed to refund you. We'll understand and thank you anyway for your support thus far, for real. We'll also be very happy to move forward with those of you who still feel comfortable and believe in the idea.

There is no way for us to prove anything at this point because nothing happened so far, and there's no way for us to prove the future other than our word. I don't really know what you're referring to or what you're expecting in that sense.

Ultimately, it is like any other investment, where you have to assess if it can be done, if you trust the people doing it and whether you think it's a rather good idea.

There's no securities for us either in that sense, we just believe in it and are willing and wishing to put the time and effort to make it happen.

The reason i posted those question is because i wanted to reinforce any information i did not understand or that you lacked off providing. You might think you have given us a lot of info but you have not cover some basic detail. mostly the shares. We want to help you and we want to believe in this. You are giving us a slice to you pie. But you need to specify how we will eat it!.

If you are even 10% serious on considering investing here (or anywhere else), please take the 10-15 minutes required to go through, read, and understand all the available information (full proposal, answers to questions in both threads, interview, etc). This is a very important good practice and part of your due-diligence when considering this or any other investment.

Please do not take this the bad way, but you ask for "as much detailed as possible" and yet haven't even read the proposal; that's where all the details are !

How will i be legally bonded to this shares?  How will i know i will always own %0.1 percent times each share? what will stop you guys from giving up and not paying us? How will we see what the actual sales margin are? If you go big and start having accessories sold such as games controllers, graphic cloth wear ,etc are we still going to be considered as owner of %0.1 shares?

Nope, just out for the weekend, sorry I couldn't answer sooner guys.

We're still working hard and putting lots and lots of night hours on the video, site and a first small gameplay version; but essentially I'm having everything on hold here until we can finish those things and reboot the campaign in Reddit to a greater audience. We extended our timeframe (from this past weekend) on this so as to have as most as we can ready for this Saturday 1st, on which we're going to the Bitcoin Hackathon here in Buenos Aires and presenting there as well (everything should be ready by then, except maybe the gameplay demo).

This is also (to a lesser extent) to let the current Gox crisis settle down a bit. We are finding most people very unsure of what to do right now and reluctant to go about investing at this (quite) particular moment.

Rest assured, there'll be no goxxxing here.

And yes, I understand your concerns. When I was thinking through this whole process, your concern was my main one as well. I disliked how Kickstarter gives nothing back to backers who put above the minimum, and I wanted to reward our backers with a stake in the game's success. I thought long and hard about how to do it in a way that makes achieving full ROI a reality, instead of an impossible (as has happened to me in other investments like mining).

Right off the bat, the first consideration was to not auction the shares. If I let the share price go sky high, no one would ever get ROI. Thus we did this with a capped maximum funding and fixed % equity based on the USD value put in. So naturally, next came thinking of the actual numbers to make it work as I intended. I did a lot of research on the sales data of indie games, they're infrastructure and the relationship with Steam, Desura and the mess the industry is in right now regarding the Bundle sales. The chosen numbers reflect my plan of having the backers get full ROI before 2500 copies are sold, which is a ballpark number of what an unknown non-megasuccessful indie game typically makes if it can NOT manage to go into Steam. This is the "floor", unless your game is utter shit and nobody ever wants to touch it.

So the key here is of course, distribution; and the king is of course Steam. Once a game gets into Steam, poor sales are usually in the order of 10k copies sold (consider Steam gets a big NDA protected cut of that). At the very beginning I even considered forgoing and shunning off Steam because they don't yet accept BTC, but after careful analysis of the industry and going through the numbers over and over, it became clear that Steam is an integral part of success, and furthermore, if we want to change Steam's view on Bitcoin, doing it from the inside would also yield better results than trying to be the outcast martyr.  

Now everyone in the industry knows, actually getting your first couple of games on Steam is easier said than done. Greenlight did not shape out to be the great tool it was supposed to be, and some successful games (with over 25k copies sold prior to Steam) had to wait close to a year inside Greenlight before getting on the actual platform. We're getting things ready for Greenlight but at the same time, we're receiving guidance from other devs and our investors (one of em actually had a video game company which later he sold) that the best plan is to not just sit idly on Greenlight but to contact Steam internally. So that's our game plan with two attack vectors: one of our investors is already published and has a working relation with Steam, and we're also real life friends with someone who knows and worked with Bruno Carlucci (for those who don't know him, he's an Argentine, e-sports data analyst and caster on James "2GD" Harding's team who are actively working with Valve and main casters of their BIG events; if you've watched Valve's The International, he's the caster with the crazy suits and outfits). Hopefully, between those things and Greenlight we'll have a quicker entry to the store.

You need to break things down to the fundamentals. Forget about Bitcoin for a second. The guys here have all the elements to make a very enjoyable and thoroughly engrossing game. Go do some research on the "point and click"/"graphical adventure" game genre. Notice the emphasis that these games put on quality. Quality art, engaging story. Good games get played by a lot of people. There is also a lot of longevity to games like this. People today still play graphical adventure games from the the 80's and 90's.

Now back to Bitcoin. The story of Bitcoin is one of the most interesting in the history of humanity. From it's conception to it's adolescence to it's ongoing maturity and it's continually changing future possibilities, the Bitcoin story is one of incredible mystery and confusion.

TLDR: What Voodah and his team are doing is using one of the best story telling mediums ever to tell one of the best stories ever. If that won't be popular, I don't know what will.

I was trying to share it among some of my friends , but most of them have the same doubt as me :-

I am pretty sure that the game will be funded and even if it is not funded , we shall get refunds.
I am not scared of being scammed , because you seem trustworthy enough and have a reputed member escrowing too.
But the problem is , what if the game does not sell much after being made ?
How can our investments be considered a "risk free Bitcoin investment" , when there is a high risk that the game will not gain enough popularity after being released ?

Yes, we're roughly at 30-40% funded, but not to worry.

We've been talking to our angel about how to keep moving forward, and we're working hard on a couple of things that will complement the remainder month of the campaign. We're currently in talks with the people of Crowdtilt to set up an instance of their new open source campaign tool Crowdhoster. Also, a teaser video is on the way and a couple notes and interviews in a big site (***cough***coindesk***cough***). A couple investors have also pledged to help during the last days should there be a need for it. Consider as well, these last few days we've seen a lot of volatility and price action (damn you Gox) so people are less prone to make any investment decisions.

Things are looking good imho and we're feeling pretty confident and happy !

NO. You need to transfer it to an address you control, and then send it to the address listed in this OP. You need to be able to sign a message from the address you send it from.

If you don't get the full 20% stake sold, I might buy the difference. E.g. if you have sold 17% by the end of the 45 days, I would buy the remaining 3%. I want to see this game and this funding/equity model succeed.

I would encourage you to distribute the shares via the Counterparty Protocol. It is simply a higher level protocol that lives on top of the Bitcoin network. It would automate the dividend process and allow for shareholders to trade shares. Likewise, if you guys wanted to liquidate some of your shares at a later date that would be possible. I'd be willing to donate some XCP to the project if required.

5. The CrowdFunding + Equity Share model, Payments and Escrow

We want to fund the game production by selling pre-orders and a total of 49% stake in it.

All of the game’s sales income (excluding the Equity sale itself) will be split among us (51%) and the Equity holders (49% total, 0.1% per share, 490 shares), in the form of monthly BTC dividends to the address used for payment. From release and till the end of times.

BUT we can only go ahead with the project if we get at least 20% of the Equity “funded” or sold (which amounts to 10.000 USD or 12 BTC at current rate). This is the bare minimum that would enable us to cover the costs to do this professionally and in a sensible timeframe.

For this reason, we have requested the help of gweedo (BitcoinTalk Hero Member) to do all transactions through a trusted and well respected escrow, granting us the possibility of doing a full refund if our target is not met.

The payment addresses will be held and posted by gweedo below (I’ll copy them on this opening  post), and they will only be released to us IF and when we reach the goal of 20% stake sold. If we don’t manage to do that in a maximum of 45 days, all funds will be returned.
