Interestingly crooks will be punished? Or they will be able to get away from provasudiya. Well, they are looking for it already. Perhaps we are going through such projects. And the cryptocurrency will calm up.
yes I hope with the capture of this fraud suspect it can make other fraudsters afraid and not commit fraud again because it has made many people lose their money
The FBI is looking for a perpetrator if it is really captured then it will be very flattering, the final crypto world fraud can be found and in the law as heavy as it will not do it again.

Scammers will certainly be punished, but I'am are afraid that they will not be able to get back all the money. Maybe a small part. They certainly hide everything so that they would have fun  after leaving prison.
the fact is that if law enforcement agencies cannot find the stolen funds, the fraudsters will receive confiscation of all property by a court decision. Perhaps someone can receive compensation from these funds.

An even if they find the stolen funds they would still need the private keys in order to be able to access them.

Many already know and are clear that pyramid schemes only win those who enter first, the rest are always scammed, is a system that no one should fall. If the FBI wants to investigate, it is a clear way to access your data and know that you are an operator or enthusiast of the projects, your anonymity would be completely zero, to which you have been scammed, you must assume it, that money can not be recovered .

This is pretty much useless. The question is why are there victims of a pretty obvious ponzi scheme? These are not victims. These are people that very well knew the risks in participating, but the greed was stronger and now they are complaining like crazy.

Only because someone is dumb doesn't justify theft. If there is a dumb person asking you to take care of his money and you say yes, are you allowed to steal it afterwards?
Mistake or greed but there's still reason why those idiots needs to be caught, they runaway with investors money, that's a crime  and punishable
in order not to be repeated again, the sentiments above you doesn't justify the argument, let say, put yourself to someone's shoes and you will
understand things that they are undergoing right now.

Exactly and even if those people who lost money were naive (to say the least), those who started Bitconnect still need punishment. It is in the best public interest.

The fact is that today there are a lot of controversial things happening. Especially it concerns the very idea of cryptocurrency, which consists of Independence and anonymity. But if we take into account the large amount of fraud, then each of us definitely tries to get legal assistance, and without some control over cryptocurrency market is impossible.

The FBI is looking for investors who suffered from Bitconnect scam and in the link below where the article can be found they have provided a form to be filled out by those who've been victimized. I'm thankful I didn't listen to one friend of mine who recruited me to bitconnect at that time, I've been warned by a closed friend not to engage in any pyramid schemes and those that promise too good to be true interests in their investments daily.

I guess they already have a big database of potential victims. Same as Centra Card investors been getting letters.
At least in this case regulation is brilliant, that investors may get some refund or should I say potential refund, all depends on the rate it will be counted and how many years it will take.

But I wonder where should the refund come from? Think about how much damage has been done. I doubt they have any money to refund a big number of investors.

Yeah, I saw the news too. I think it is absolutely right that the FBI is investigating this project. Scammers should be punished. And the victims must be compensated.
I recommend to those who lost money in this project, do not hesitate and fill out the proposed form.

I agree that scammers should get punished, but given the anonymity of the Bitconnect operation, I doubt that victims will be compensated. However, I would hope the FBI focuses on the very top of this organization and perhaps tries to find the trail via blockchain to the culprits.
Giving justice to those who's being victimized is really important, we knew that it's hard for them to gain back there's investment but if they
knew that the facilitators of this crime was already been punished it can give at least some relief from the burden that they've keep inside after
being scam of this business.

Let's see what further updates will be bring to us after this search.

So many project CEOs that turn out to be scam need to be apprehended.
It will serve as deterrent to other that intend or are planning to scam.
We need to find ways to get this reduced in the crypto space.

Many of them smartly stayed anonymous, so there isn't much that can be done against those people by the FBI.

The problem is that hardly anyone will ever get to see their money again. The guys behind Bitconnect are probably broke and can't pay anyone.
They are unknown, police has been arresting promoters. Promoters can't give money back.
I don't think whoever was behind bitconnect will ever be captured and they have earn too much money and run away.
Fbi has to search for everyone involved, person or people behind this scam could be one of these people on this ceremony https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lCcwn6bGUtU

Obviously, they're looking for the victims to that the FBI can have a solid evidence against those scammers and they will have a good case to bring them to justice and maybe they can also have the correct figures as to how much money the scammers got and maybe learn big lessons as well.

It really is the end for a similar project Bitconnect is the last ponzi like coin that will exist because that's what's going to happen if any developer will try to launch a similar coin in the market and besides we have a group of scam buster here in our forum.

If this is true, all of us will benefit on it. Since the market has a bad image because of scam and fraud projects. This will be a big step to clean up this online market and I will salute and support them.
Yes, I, as a new investor, is very frightened to see the level of fraud on the coins lately so much that a crackdown is needed to eradicate them, and if this is true that the FBI will intervene to eradicate fraudsters, I will give great respect to FBI.
Well, news like this are causing fear to new investors but in one hand it gives us warning as well and reminder to be careful what and who to trust to. I also wish that the FBI will indeed solve this case so those who are planning and even at the moment are doing the scamming will be alerted and be exposed too.

I didn't check the link but why now?

The scam stunt has been pulled eons ago and why does the FBI will involved themselves just right now? It doesn't makes sense, unless this is a show of force on their end and sending a signal that scam projects are being hunted and put to justice and victims will be compensated.
I think because one of Bitconnect's promoters has been arrested and put behind bars already on the time this article was posted so the issue has been resurrected and not to deny that there are indeed a lot of investors who've lost huge amount of money in this scam.

But isn't it he was arrested since last year already?

Anyways, it's good to hear that finally FBI has taking the lead and do hope that every ounce of those who have been scam should be paid coming from the scammer/s themselves.

And yes, many have called this a scam from the beginning, but I don't get why people still invested on them and then bitch around when they all lost their money. Good thing though is that there might be a chance for them to get their money back and do hope that they won't be a victim again.

LoL. A centralized system helps to fix the decentralized system. Actually, these kinds of movements mean help for us and fear for scammers.
There is another subject I wonder. They are looking for victims for refund or?

You hit it in the right spot. It is a knockdown.
First of all, why look for the investors?
What are they trying to achieve or is there another purpose for that?

They could just make any move to try and trace where the suspect came from and not to know where the victims are.

At this kind of case, they might want to be ready in case bitconnect refunds the money?
They want a part of it or some donations? Maybe robbery?

I dont really get much of a reason why know the investors first. I hope this is just a joke. Grin Coz I am laughing now.

That's the big problem with financial pyramids, once it become unsustainable it crashes. Though there shouldn't be any excuse for people who try to scam others of their hard earned money, I hope those involved get arrested and prosecuted.

Yeah, I saw the news too. I think it is absolutely right that the FBI is investigating this project. Scammers should be punished. And the victims must be compensated.
I recommend to those who lost money in this project, do not hesitate and fill out the proposed form.

FBI is not interested in compensations. There were some other investigations by them one of the recent ones was GAW and they put the owner behind bars but they didn't find any money to use for compensations and they aren't going to keep looking. They don't care about the victims only about their conviction rates. If you want money you should go to court.

Well it’s a good move from the fbi, but would victims come out boldly to fill the proposed form ?
Will fbi not charge them as accomplices of fraud ??

It’s a two sided coin at the moment

It's a good thing the FBI took this case, but why doesn't the FBI handle other cases like this? There are a lot of projects that have deceived people, but no one is looking for their leaders.

I hope they are not looking for these people to make any accusations against them? Perhaps they found the organizers of this financial pyramid and want to return some of the money to them? I hope that this is the case. Because a huge number of people suffered from these scam sites.

This is excellent, I hope they succeed in punishing the guilty as severely as possible and returning as much money as possible to the victims. We need such a case, the impunity of the scammers must end.

Bitconnect was obvious ponzi from day one.

Maybe i am a little bit harsh but people who lost money in this, don't deserve to have any money at all.

The questione here is who will compensate the loses of the victims. This scam was not owned by only one person and the problem now is to find those people behind this pyramid scheme.

There are many questions that demands answer. We can only hope that FBI will find some answers, one more thing
is important, they need to find and mark people who are the most responsible for BitcoinConnect ponzi scheme. Many
people pointed that fact long before it happened.
Interesting is that in this scheme participated people from entire world. This will be first of a kind operation I think, it
will be interesting to watch development of FBI investigation and outcome of that investigation.

Listen, if Mt. Gox couldn't get away with it, Bitconnect wouldn't be able to completely wash their hands of this either.
And in all honesty, most of us have gotten over the Bitconnect drama, I am concerned about a recent more heinous fraud.
Yep, talking about the Quadriga death scam.
Authorities, especially Canadian authorities should look into the issue of the Quadriga guys' death. That guy is trying to pull a ball of bigger wool over everyone's eyes. How can a guy forget to share key information about the secured wallet that has millions of customer funds and still remember to leave $100k for his dog in his will?
Don't get me wrong, if I had a dog now and I was rich I'd leave enough money for the dog as well as my family to live their entire lives comfortably but it won't be at the expense of people's hard earned money.
