Well if the cat ends up below a car wheel, then you can be sure it really is "cold storage"...

We can fight over the economics of bitcoin, or over the evil bankers or over libertarian ideals.

But don't you EVER try to argue that dogs > cats, or cats > dogs.

Are you trying to destroy this forum in a giant vortex of Internet LOLcat DDoS?

You are touching the Internet's third rail. Step back from the abyss man!

Hey!

Are your paper wallets as cute and purr-loving as my Cat Wallets?

I rest my case.

And what if the little critter runs away or gets killed and eaten by some larger animal?

Cats have limited lifespan even when compared to Western Digital hard drives. Always have at least one backup of your private keys. Cats as storage devices are not reliable and they also are expensive to maintain and sometimes are louder than worn out cooling fan.

1.) Shave cat
2.) Tatoo private key
3.) Wait for hair to regrow (keep kitty hidden inside during that time)
4.) Huh
5.) Profit!

Funny idea though  Grin "CatWallet accepted here"

LOL

I have three microchipped cats and the visual in my mind was this:

Walking up to a cashier with "CatWallet accepted here".

"That will be 1.2BTC, Sir, how would you like to pay".

"CatWallet p;ease. 1.2 BTC you said? Hm... Do you mind if I split the check?"

I pick up my tiger striped cat Diesel and swipe her scruff near the reader: *BLOOP*

"There, that's the 1BTC... and"

I pick up my black&white cat Lulu and swipe her scruff: *BLOOP*,

"....there's the .2BTC. Have a nice day!"

No Maps for These Territories
The chips implanted in pets are read-only. They just contain an identification number that can be read out. Sure, you could generate a private key from that, but as the number is not a secret (it's meant to register the pet to you and your home address), that's kind of pointless.

My kitty has a microchip in him, of which variety I do not know.

Help me brainstorm using my cat as a cold storage bitcoin wallet solution.
