I’ve been following the Genesis project for quite a while and I like it a whole lot.
It appears they have a family of three platforms based on the same source code:
1. eGaaS for governmental projects (private distributed ledger),
2. Apla Enterprise Network (public permissioned) for businesses, and
3. Genesis (public, non-permissioned) as a sandbox for developers.
With eGaaS and Apla they’re working on big eGov-related projects (currently, proof-of-concepts and pilots) in UAE, China, India and Europe.

I've been reading through their documentation and playing with interface pages and smart contracts (which they have many included in the quick start pack, and they are easy to build). Doesn't look too difficult, and all working nice.
