I was wondering which was the FIRST Signature Campaign in this forum and what was the bounty or reward given to the participants. Was it be like 10 bitcoins per post for jr. member or something? (DAMN!)

Could anyone post the link if the page exists. I couldn't find after googling it.

I also don't know what particular signature campaign was the first signature campaign in bitcointalk forum. Because i discover and joined in bitcoin so late, im so late  Sad .. But it doesnt matter because i am now here, taking and giving some ideas. Well if bitcoin was built long time ago so of course there are so many signature campaigns that was built also, but i dont exactly know what are they

Bitx and bitmixer were the best and long run in this forum i think but not aware of the first campaign in the forum. I remember some of the campaign were paid 0.1 btc for Sr ranks. One of them is lucky btc casino. They were run signature and twitter campaign.

Wow! it was so pretty cool. I think in this time, higher ranks like sr. member, hero and legendary doesn't paid for about 0.1 bitcoin. Last years campaign is different from todays campaign more especially when we talk about paying for every ranks. Though they have difference but the most important thing bitcoin grow faster, more progressive and trusted cryptocurrency in the market

i am not surprise that if one signature campaign paid in high for the member because in that day, bitcoin price is not like now and there is many owner that have many of bitcoin so i think its still worth to the owner to paid the member with high price. but now, i think the owner will thinking about this and its related with bitcoin price itself and beside that, the owner will need to think about maintenance of their sites. there will be highly fee that the owner should be payed and it means a big money that they could spend in a month.

The rates would be same or close to same as now because the rates were probably low back then of BTC, But people who saved all their earning they must be living the life, would be interesting to know though someone who actually joined the campaign should post.

There's a split in the campaigns now, some pay about the same rates as before (slightly less) and other campaigns are paying significantly lower rates, dust by comparison.

I'm surprised the dust pay campaigns are even in business, why people accept these lower rates is beyond me.

The real difference was that a few years ago there usually was no limit to the number of posts one could make in a week. You could make 100+ posts getting paid BTC0.0007 per post. That's how people were making such a killing!

I remember (which isn't that long ago) that Bit-X allowed certain high volume posters (I won't throw with names) to earn like 0.5BTC per week. It was pure madness!

These people were making at least 2BTC per month, which at current rates is more than a lot people earn with their regular job. But obviously, Bit-x couldn't sustain such payouts for too long.

But even after cutting heavily in their signature campaign payouts they were still the best paying campaign at that time. Imagine how much someone would earn with several enrolled accounts.

It lasted over a year like that actually!

It will be interesting to know and see how much they got paid back then for posting or what where the rules back then, I suppose the rates were way better since the price of bitcoin was lower, but as the price of bitcoin keeps growing maybe in ten years those that become part of signature campaigns will see at our rates and think the same about us.

Thanks for this link mate! Good old threads and upon looking to that thread, the first signature campaign seems to be primedice. And I saw that there's the highest paying campaign which allows you to post 3k posts / month. And that is with ritzcasino, maximum of 3.9 BTC per month way back that year. I'm thinking what if they are still paying that way right now  Roll Eyes

Thanks for the link.  Cheesy

Turns out the rates were pretty much the same as now.
Only difference I could see was that they had a much higher minimum post count back then. Could go from 50 - 250 MINIMUM POSTS.  Shocked Shocked
That's just too much.  Grin

Compared to now, where the minimum is 10-15 or the set 25-30 weekly.

Anyway, just goes to show how awesome my campaign's rates are.  Grin Grin
.035/week or .0014/per post. (set/minimum 25 posts a week)  Grin Grin

if posible can get reward very high, because bitcoin price in early launch is very cheap, iam hear in early lauhch bitcoin someone buy pizza with price 10k bitcoin

That "someone buy pizza with 10K bitcoin" was the first bitcoin transaction for physical goods. Even before that, I have heard many early adopters would give out 10 to 100 bitcoin to new users who are interested to learn more about bitcoin. Obviously, this was way back when bitcoin had any market value.

This thing already been on my mind a way back before but i didnt tend to ask the community and now theres a thread related to this one and im really searching for the first signature campaign on this forum but mostly been mentioned they are lately launched and rates arent different as of todays. I think it would not reach 10 Bitcoin as payment for a single account in a signature campaign,
Even if it was way back to 2012 10 bitcoin would still be a huge amount,
But I hope we already learn about this site back then so we also earned a lot of bitcoin and save it up.

You will not find anything because the data has edited, updated every time. Just back to the 2009 and try to mine bitcoin with your desktop and you should get hundreds bitcoin. I've heard the rate of the first signature campaign is lower than the current signature campaign.

Bitcoin was only introduced to me last year but I am already seeing some advertisements about it when I am exploring the world wide web and I just ignore it without knowing that it is the best way to make money online. So for me, those early signature campaigns pay their advertisers in higher than now of course because the value of BTC was lower that time.

I think the reason we didn't have any bitcoin campaign before 2013 was that bitcoin wasn't much popular and there weren't many business related to bitcoin existed during that time.
It was 2013 price hike that saw a lot of new entrants and investment in bitcoin related exchanges, gambling sites even cloud mining.
No need to say this forum has always been the best place to promote bitcoin services and websites and hence signature campaigns got started.

Only 2 years back you could earn a lot of money by posting. This is one of many examples https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/da-dice-signature-campaign-replaced-by-20-973949
A hero member could earn 0.15 a week + a weekly bonus for top posters + loyalty bonus. All of that could probably get you 1BTC a month if you managed to score the bonus every week.

I think there wasn't possible to get 10 per post or similar amount. If I'm correct, there was no signature campaigns in early years of forum. In past, bitcointalk wasn't such commercialazed forum as today. And also, there wasn't so many bitcoin related services. After looked few links provided above, first signature campaigns appeared somewhere in 2012-2013, and their rates was higher than today, but not few bitcoins per post or per week Cheesy. But after small Google research, I can't say which campaign was first. And maybe, first campaigns was called in other words than "signature campaign"?

After taking a look at this thread, I found out that the thread was created in 2015 and I am sure there would have been some earlier than that. The answer to this in my opinion will be answered by mods or staff especially a thread for the update of signature campaigns I am kind of sure that the starter of that thread can provide a good answer to this...

10 bitcoins per post lol, it could have been if signature campaign were active in the year 2009-2010. i found an old thread of primedice signature campaign(https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.2264485). it was a fixed campaign, not pay per post.
Wow. That's a lot compared to the currwt rate of sig campaigns at the moment. They are offering a 0.1+ btc for a minimum of 30 posts per month. I can see why it has become a trend here to continue campaigns in this forum.

I don't know what site is the pioneer in signature campaign or who did introduce to advertise with it in the first place.

But with the rates, I don't think it's done that way as you are thinking, the rates should be the same until now and upon seeing primedice's old thread.

lol! yeah! 10 btc per post does sound insane. But I am just saying out the possibilities. I heard there was a faucet sites back in the days where users could claim about 2 to 5 btc. Not sure about this.

I think this question would only be correctly answered by very early users such as "theymos"

This is true. You could make that much a month. And some people arranged flat rates with signature campaigns (they weren't advertised but you could find out who had them from the bots that tracked the posts). The flat rates I say were BTC0.5 per week for some folks. Crazy times back then.

First, who knows?

But one of the best was Bit-x. They had no maximum, used a bot to count posts, and for Sr. Members and up you were making BTC0.001 to BTC0.0015 per post. Almost double what's paid now.

Here's an Overview of Signature Campaigns from 2013: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/overview-of-signature-ad-campaigns-333916

Totally forgot about this, there's a really popular campaign called PrimeDice.

The rates weren't that much higher than today, but the post counts were a lot higher. You could earn BTC0.10+ in a week simply because you could put down 100+ posts without anyone caring.

Of course, that's what led to the greater control over policing spam and banning people that are just here to get paid. It's been a good move for the Forum.

I checked previous threads and campaigns were not the deal but people are renting out their sig space ad it turns out to be like a bidding for them. I saw one asking 2 btc for a 6 month advertising.

The rates would have been very attractive looking at the price of BTC now, maybe in 10 years people will look back at the signature rates now and think the same thing.
I personally think such an increase can't be real. A person wouldn't even have what to do with a trillion and a half dollars.

I think that people thought at one point that there is no way bitcoin could be $1000, so yes it would be hard to believe that it could hit a million, but its not impossible.  at the minute some are paying 0.0035 per week.  at a million pounds that means $3,500......Smiley

I suppose it is like mining. It gets harder and harder to obtain BTC.

That's true and as more people get on board the signature campaign prices are also diminishing. I'm also waiting patiently if someone can tell us the first campaign of this forum and the rates they were offering.

I was thinking about that too, but wouldn't that make some people ULTRA rich? I mean, looking at the current price .. the richest Bitcoin address is around $150.000.000. So if Bitcoin rose according to some predictions here, so to $1.000.000, then that account would be worth 1000 times more, so $1.500.000.000.000. I personally think such an increase can't be real. A person wouldn't even have what to do with a trillion and a half dollars. Signature campaigns in the beginning sure had a very high payout if we are comparing the amount people earned here at today's rate to the amount we can earn right now. But nobody could have predicted such a huge price increase, and probably nobody would believe right now that there could be an even higher price in the future. A more realistic value at the moment would probably be $10-$15k.
