I think you are talking about faucets, right? In my opinion you cannot consider faucets as a source of income because their payouts are really very low. It will take a long time to reach the minimum withdrawal threshold also. But for a newbie its really worth. He will get to know what and how it works and also experience its wonderful features. More than this one should not expect anything from it.

The low paying tasks that you are referring to and the faucets, they are a total waste of time. Faucets just serve the purpose of introducing bitcoins or altcoins to the newcomers. They are for newbies and just not be considered as a source of income. You may invest that precious time in much efficient activities to yield greater rewards.
Although, looking at my newbie days, faucets were the main motif of me involving in bitcoin to earn easily, but slowly I understood that they are just time waste considering the current lower payouts due to increasing bitcoin price.

There are many services, that don't payout your earnings. Some of them are legit, but you will probably waste more electricity costs, than earn something. But you could have a look to section micro earnings and find many services and experiences of members here.https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=212.0

Free cryptocurrency offering platforms are now so numerous, though their compensation plans so far are so discouraging. They give targets that will take about one month or sometimes, more (promising to give free Etherium, Bitcoins, litecoins, and the likes to those who perform the specified tasks) to complete and when completed, what you get is usually nothing to write home about.
I now have some questions:
1. Are all these platforms truly fulfilling the benefits they promise?
2. Are the benefits worth the tasks?
