Tinubu been dey complain say the change in Naira design and fuel scarcity na plan for them to sabotage e election bid to be our president so, abeg make I ask, who be minister of petroleum for Nigeria? Shey na Buhari, shey Buhari still dey APC? Is he trying to say that Buhari who is a member of his party is not in support of his bid to be president. There has been a lot of fuel crisis in this present administration, there is no assurance that if we go another four years with the same political party that has gotten us to this situation, the country will be completely finished.
Where we de go for the country? Everything just de turn upside down and the government folding their hands watching things getting fold up. Nigeria is a finishes nation and everyone is after their own pocket, what they can actually achieve in the system and this is really out of line for those that becomes promising and focused on winning and generating profits. Omo leave Nigeria problem, the whole system don scatter with corruption. Every individual in power is tasty to have more and leading to exist of greed.
This na very old post, but e still accurate AF.
Only some days now, and we have witnessed a rise in the price of PMS. The funny thing and why many Nigerians notice this is because we were still on the issue of price of commodities rising and praying that the FCCPC ensure price accuracy and while many marketers were being sceptical on adjusting to the new prices, PMS marketers decide to increase price of PMS, thus making every person pay extra.
NNPC has said there's still product availability but we can see locally that it isn't the reality of things.
Something needs to be done because we aren't seeing any reasonable improvement and while the president gives a speech and cites everything as being okay, the poor man gets poorer and standard of living is only much affordable by the rich and powerful.

Everybody just Dey talk their own for the country wey I no sure say things go better like before again, the way person Dey live for this country now sef sometimes you go fit pray say make the world finish make everybody go die, since when I grow up I never see anything for Naija wey the price come down, every time na high e Dey go, I have beginning to ask, na this country we always said we are proud of ? Na this kind country we Dey sing for when we Dey always sing the National Anthem? To be honest our leaders don make our country looks like a country where the citizens are always seen it as a bad country.

Now I understand those people wey if them get chance enter another country them will go register to be the citizen of the country without not thinking of coming back to Nigeria, to be honest I don’t blame because instead of be suffering like this you should have peace of mind in another country, we are talking about the price of fuel and I’m seeing some people are mentioning 400 and some amount, fuel don enter 1000 naira for my side since last week.

I was able to make some inquiry as to why, we buy fuel at exorbitant amount and still yet the product is not available to buy.

There has been some lingering issue between the independent marketers, NNPC, NUPENG AND PENGASSAN.

on the side of government it is said that, government makes this product available on a subsidized rate, that is government, takes our crude oil overseas, refines it and sell it at a given price, which is officially 140 naira per litre to independent product marketers which in turn sell it at 150 to retailers, and retailers sell it 165 and. (official government rate).

Now here is the intriguing part

On a normal scenario, NNPC upon bringing this refined product to Nigeria, they are supposed to take it to the government owned depot, so that the government scheduled price will be implemented. But rather, NNPC takes this product to private depot and sell it at 180 naira, those private depot sell this product at 190 naira And above to retailers, that is why some retailers are selling around 200 and something Naira and above.

As at today, there is a memo by NNPC, that is going round, that the price of the product has increased to 185, it then means some of us will continue to buy this product at 200 and something Naira and above.

News like this is always the other if the day by our leaders but the truth remain that the NNPC is part of government and has presidential control if the president is not in connection with this kind of act I don't think it can happen all of this are trick use to estort the citizens and subject them inorder to made their way on the particular amount they desire to embezzled.

What then will be the case after being hard that they have decentralized the from the NNPC as private oil marketers can buy and sell on their rate which has even work out well as different suppliers are using the issue of subsidy to influence the cost of fuel, I see all this as politics many who find their way play to the detriment of the poor citizens, all one need is to stand out from certain financial barrier because things like this will always take place until curruption is totally reduce to certain percentage lower the what it's today.
Which was why I was vehemently against the Idea to let NNCP stand on its own as limited liability company, breaking them out from ministry of petroleum. All of these measures are to stifle the economy for the average Nigerian and set the stage ready for those in the upper echelon to continue to loot the system, the queues are back again, the price of PMS is 1k in some areas which is bad for an oil producing state like Nigeria.
Funny enough, I recently saw a video where a lady was complaining about this same fuel situation in 1994, that's to tell you that for over 30 years, we've not been able to sort out ourselves.

A liter of fuel here in my area is #500, and black marketers are selling at #700 plus..
I personally do not think your assumptions concerning this matter is true, because the issue of fuel scarcity started a few month back towards the end of 2022, I personally think this is a planned strategy because of the coming presidential election, i am not saying am sure about this, but this is my assumption.
if like you said, NNPC is the course of the whole fuel scarcity in the country, how then do you explain the issue with light, the new naira note they've deliberately refused to give to the common man out here, a lot of issues in this country currently..

After all this been said and where the problem is coming from. Is it that the NNPC is higher than the government or the government are using them to make money? I don’t understand why NNPC will bypass giving the fuel to government to sell them. There’s something fishy about all this and I hope and pray the truth about it is revealed soon. We are tired of the long queues and waiting to buy fuel.

My brother, the thing be say na NNPC be the guys way dey for power cash cow, there is a reason why they made NNPC a limited liability company towards the end of this administration. Don't forget that they always made the ministry of petroleum not be directly incharge of NNPC, there is a whole lot of racketeering going on.

In the coming months, dem so sell fuel or should I say, we go buy fuel at N400 per liter. If una look wetin dey happen, una suppose don observe say dem dey increase the price small sake of say Naija don too tire to complain. So we just take any price wey dem give us. Their target  na N400 sha. Fuel nor dey the country. And some of these marketers don sabi already so them dey hoard the ones dem get so that them fit cash out during the time.

Discovering crude oil in Nigeria has caused greed and lack of trust on its citizens,it made the government to abandon every other means of natural resources endowed to Nigeria by nature, which would have been used as a means of revenue for the country. Still these people wey dey thief this crude money which are the Minister of Petroleum,Minister of Petroleum (State), NNPC Director till down down. Them no fit use their head know say the more ministry dey give them money, them for fix all our three refinery of at least one to use help their pocket but instead them use am dey punish the citizens wey no get their level.

If you too think about this country government, you go just see am say na wickedness and bad belle na e the leaders dey do the citizens. This na lesson for all man to know say no be only the bad people fit dey contest for election, make good people with integrity too join politics. This na the only way to kick out this bad eggs for we country. We need to change our orientation say no be to collect but to give

The good people no dey gree come out to contest election. By good people we mean, people with upright character and Principles.

A lot of them dey see politics as a dirty game, and they don't want to soil their hands. So the least among us are the ones on leadership roles, and so far, they've lead of us to the part of destruction.

At times I d wonder which country we dey live so. Every sector d do anything wey d feel like without considering the masses. Em d very  unfortunate sae a country as big as Nigeria no get their own refinery despite being among the top-producing country of petroleum products for the world. Upon that, NNPC still d sell fuel at high price give us

As at today, there is a memo by NNPC, that is going round, that the price of the product has increased to 185, it then means some of us will continue to buy this product at 200 and something Naira and above.
Whether NNPC get memo for the increase price of fuel or not, my state don d sell above the price of 200naira since.

For my state, the price of fuel no be here. We d buy fuel around 400-450 naira per liter. Filling stations just d sell fuel at any given price wey d like since December till now.

Abegy I no fit wait for a change of government for this country. There are so many things to put in place. Enough of the mago-mago wey d happen for country.  So many sectors just d cash out big time because nobody d checkmate them

This one way u dey talk self dey, but omo the corruption for this particular government dey humongous, me I from an oil producing state, I dey see how boys dey do oil bunkering for product way government no gree refine again, like kerosene and diesel.

No forget say the subsidy way government remove, na for only fuel oh, kerosene and diesel ⛽  government no gree subsidize that one oh, upon say our refineries no dey work again oh.
So na illegal oil bunkers dey make this product available at exorbitant price for marketers.

In the mean time, those wey Sabi hoard fuel for house, no forget to dey safety cautious o!

Conspicuously speaking I am yet to still believe that a country as big as Nigeria does not have a functional refinery that could be able to refine all crude oil. I wonder why taking it outside country to refine and then bring a buy products to her citizens. I think our country are really going backwards because as a country as larger as Nigeria should have built a functioning refinery to reduce excessive waste of products and resources .
And the most annoying part is that, is not as if the government are not seeing this nonsense that is going on in the country but they have choice to feed themselves and their family alone
. Nigeria, the propose giant of Africa, sometimes i wonder how it looks in the eyes of the politicians because if you are aware that your nation is an oil producing country, it will be only proper to take all these momey and make arrangements for a fully functional refinery that can refined our crude products.

Nobody wants to do the right thing once them get any opportunity to steal money because no institution deh check wetin we deh do at all. How person go be president of a country and at the same time be minister again. Na lacknof accountability deh cause am. Obasanjo and others also did the same thing but it is very bad. Fuel weh you deh talk now deh sell for filling stations for Imo state for close to 400 official price o.

I'll continuously ask this same questions:
✓ what are the use of the government owned refineries that we have laying waste, getting dilapidated by each day with no government intentions of revamping them but rather stuck their guns on refining our crude oil outside the country?
✓ Is it that there are underlying factor's holding each administration that comes into power from making use of our refineries in Nigeria or are these foreign refineries owned by those in government in disguise?
✓ Is it not same crude oil we have that other countries such as Saudi also do have and are using it to gainfully develop their country and improve lives of the citizenries or it's ours a curse one?
like where did we really go wrong as a people!!

Going by the situation, this is election period and the so-called incumbent party in government are still campaigning for us to vote for them. Like on what ground should we vote for them, if we can't have access to fuel at affordable pump price now is it when they come back for another four or eight year again that we will. Like this is insane, ridiculous and inconsiderate on the part of the incumbent government of which they don't deserve our vote this time.

According to our government, they've been doing a turn around maintenance of this refineries for God knows how long. I believe the whole subsidy of a thing, is more like government racketeering. That is where the big Boys in the government are cashing out on large scale.
