Something interesting I've observed lately is an increased interest/awareness in altcoins.

Our forum has been seeing exponential growth and one can look also in the newbie section here and see more and more newbies discussing altcoins. It wasn't that long ago I was scolded by a moderator that newbies didn't need to hear about altcoins and not to talk about such things as it might confuse them. Now it seems the tide is turning and that the altcoins are gaining wider acceptance both in the mainstream and here on this forum.

Over the coming months, I think we'll start to see some of the stronger altcoins begin rising up to challenge Bitcoin then perhaps overtaking the top spot maybe even as early as 2014.

I only recently started playing with crypto-currencies and managed to ten fold my bankroll into 1 bitcoin XD as of this morning.
So for me its basically loosing a bunch of play money but i honestly believe that Bitcoin belongs over the 1.000$ mark and i hope to be able to continue playing this game Smiley

now that BTC you finally gained is worth 50% less, lol. That's the problem with btc to altcoin investments, is that BTC itself is volatile. Which is why you should be in the game long-term

Its just another factor, there are a few altcoins that while the Bitcoin value changed held their USD Value and in turn are worth alot of more in Bitcoins now.
Check Elacoin for example, it held steady at about 1,4$ while bitcoin dropped to 65% and in turn the BTC/ELC Market Relation is now 0.00211873 BTC.

All Altcoins are already correcting by 30% + at the moment, if Bitcoin breaks Below $800 it will trigger a massive sell off in the altcoin market we might see 50%-70%+ corrections in the coming days. This might turn out as the largest Altcoin crash in history.

Might be a good time to set a strategy, book some profits, either partial or full and buy back when the market cools off. DYODD of course!

Strap on the seat belts this might be an ugly ride
