Lol... You guys are cold! Well, I like the idea... May be it will become a reality show on one of the major TV network one day and everybody here will benefit.

To OP: Go ahead and post your listing at HushSwap.com under Gaming and Entertainment or Community Hub Projects - will cost you nothing and will give your more exposure to a less skeptical audience. Smiley

I recently retired and have had a bunch of extra time on my hands.

Two of my favorite hobbies are Treasure Hunting/Planning and Bitcoin, so it was only natural for me to come to the conclusion to start a nationwide Bitcoin Treasure Hunt. After participating in a small bitcoin pool contest (<5BTC) last year with friends, I knew I had to try and ramp up the idea on a much bigger scale.

Here's how it's going to work. I've started a pool or "Treasure Chest Wallet", the private paper key of which I will bury in a treasure chest somewhere in the Continental USA once the amount of donations or pledges tops 100BTC (I figure this is a decent prize amount for a worthy treasure hunter). I'll even match early contributions/pledges up to 2BTC of my own to get the hunt going.

After the treasure is buried, I will release multiple clues every week until the treasure is found. Don't worry this won't be like Forrest Fenn's hunt where it takes people years and years to find it. I want to see you all put those BTC to use!

If hunt #1 is a success I will begin funding more bitcoin treasure hunts around the US throughout the rest of the year!

Of course there are those who will say that I'm running some sort of scam, but I really do want this to be a fun event that the btc community can participate in for years to come. The website I set up should answer any other questions about the project. Obviously my friends and family won't be privy to this hunt. As much as I want the treasure to be found, half the fun for me will be hiding it where no one will think to look and coming up with clues and maps to lead the way!

If you'd rather commit to a treasure chest donation rather than actually donate until we've reached 100%, then pledging is a perfectly fine alternative and safer if you're skeptical. Just send an email with whatever amount you'd like to pledge to the contest: [email protected]

Any amounts are welcome!

Happy Hunting!

Joe
