<< European officials are demanding answers and investigations into a joint U.S. and U.K. hack of the world's largest manufacturer of mobile SIM cards, following a report published by The Intercept Thursday. >>

I expect it'll be a complete whitewash, no doubt the NSA/GCHQ have dirt on all the officials demanding an investigation Wink

<< International row likely after revelations of breach that could have given NSA and GCHQ the power to monitor a large portion of world's cellular communications. >>

Sadly I doubt it. Nobody seems to care and it just gets brushed under the carpet.

Surely this in in violation of international law? These spy agencies are really taking the piss...

Everything America and the UK does is in violation of international law: torture, hacking, illegal surveillance, war-mongering etc etc. They're above the law.

This is what im saying all along "They're above the law." , and as crazy as it may sound, noone can/will do anything to stop them doing what they do best, taking freedom from people.
What is the point of international laws then, it reminds me of Orwells quote alot; All animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others.
Just imagine if china or russia did something like this? there would be sanctions and bombers in the air as we speak..

this is actually nothing new for the cellular networks. Already the 2nd generation, GSM, had severe security leaks with "secret" A3 (authentication) and A8 (key generation) algorithms being available openly in the Internet.
