The fiat USDollar money supply has been enlarged by the banks to handle certain situations in the money world. If the money ever gets into the hands of the people, there will be hyper-inflation, the value of the dollar will drop drastically, the only thing left for the banking system will be to print more money, etc. The result will be that a loaf of bread will cost a $million. and everything else will go up correspondingly. You will need a wheelbarrow full of cash just to do your grocery shopping.

This is the thing that has happened in Argentina at least 3 times in the last 40 or 50 years. When it happens with the USDollar, it will be many times worse. Then the dollar will completely flop.

Just before the dollar flops, there will be so much of it that it will be cheaper to use it to heat buildings with, than buying gas or electricity or fuel oil or any other kind of fuel normally used to heat the buildings.

Well who would have thought that btc will invent building warming. Maybe it will get Nobel in physics or world peace.

I find this a very good and economic way of using miners. I personally use my 12 USB ASICMINER Sticks to heat my room. I have a mini fan that blows the heat from the sticks around. I actually save a nice bit of money from using them as heaters, as heating a small room with 2 small USB hubs, in comparison to having a full blown thermostat electric heater going on one side of the wall, makes a surprising difference on your heating bill here in the winter. Especially when running 24/7.

Unfortunately, it doesn't work like that because of the economics. If money is saved by using the waste heat then the savings will be spent on more mining.

At least it is better than the heat not being used. A small plus for the environment.

ASICs can be powered by micro-hydro, hydro, wind and solar power. All of these sources have an environmental tradeoff one must consider.

I just think it is great that these ASIC's are being used to secure the Bitcoin network and also waste heat is being re-used for something that is necessary.

Re-using waste is green, and ASIC's are 99% efficient at creating the needed heat.

Not very green still as energy is still being pumped into the mining equipment. Green energy would be abolishing mining and depending solely on users' QTs (POS I think?)

Infact, it's an exact observation, because it's not a real green energy in a proper way.
At least mining energy is re-used in a green way and not just dissipated.

I don't understand the point you are trying to make. Doesn't the building need to be heated anyways? Or are you just re-iterating my point that possibly heating a building with natural gas is more efficient than electricity?

Why are people forced to buy new mining equipment? Cannot the original ASICs continue to heat the building afterwards?

Hopefully mining efficiency in the future will let this happen in a way the will benefit the current system. Woop woop

LOL we can recycle the wasted energy producing by miners. Now the majorities of ppl can't blame the mining is wasting resource then choose the competitive green coins. Why not choose to dual use our energy?

A non profit bitcoin advocacy group in Canada is heating its entire building from miners, thus using 99% of the ASIC energy to efficiently heat the building.

While there may be more environmentally friendly ways to heat a building than electricity, this presents a positive step forward with showing how we can re-use miner heat waste for our benefit.
