If it's all really true I still wouldn't make claims like "Russia deserves this, China deserves that". The corrupt and tyrannical govs make their people including athletes obey or else they're out of the game. It's easy to make it all black and white issue but things are much more complicated than this esp in countries where rotten minority rules everything.

The life in any totalitarian country is not easy, you very much depend on your rulers and authorities in general. I agree that a lot of responsibilities lie on governments. But, note, people in those countries keep supporting their presidents and voting for them on elections. So, who is to blame? At least the responsibility must be shared which has happened in this situation.

As they should be shamed. If this was a few individual athletes doping, and the government hadn't had any knowledge of the events at all then that's one thing. But this was a government orchestrated event, endorsed by the Kremlin in order to make the Russians seem superior in international sports, which they aren't.

This was a state backed effort, and due to such they should be banned for 4 years and all of the officials that orchestrated this should be banned from international sports as well.

We'll see what comes out of this, as they still have time to take this to arbitration.

The international shame of Russia

It happened! Finally, justice triumphed. Putin and his Russia got what they deserved. Not one country has yet won such a world-class shame. Criminal interference in the sport of the St. Petersburg bandit Putin (1,2) could not pass with impunity. For the mass feeding of athletes with doping, carried out at the direction of President Putin, and for covering up by the state of criminal manipulations with doping tests, Russia has been barred from any international sports competitions for four years. Moreover, all government officials from sports are deprived of their right to stay at sports events. In short, the World Anti-Doping Agency has decided to isolate Russia as violating the sports charter, as well as for deceiving by Russia as a state. True, Russia had a chance to avoid punishment and not break the fate of its athletes, but only in one case, namely pleading guilty, but this could not happen for obvious reason, because Putin’s criminal role would inevitably become clear. In a totalitarian state like Russia, nothing can happen without the knowledge of Putin. It is difficult to assume that Minister Mutko, and even with the participation of the FSB, could disobey instructions from above.
Here the only one conclusion suggests itself: Putin's Russia is a criminal state. An open crime of Russia in sports is only the beginning in a series of more serious crimes, and I won’t be surprised if Putin shares the fate of Milosevic. It should be noted that the bulk of the Russian people are delighted with how their president, using the laws of Western democracy, is brazenly lying, refusing to commit atrocities, although for example, without any investigation it is clear who shot down the Malaysian Boeing. The Russian people are simply delighted with the outright lie with ichthamnes, or how the Kremlin maniac is getting rid of people who are objectionable to the regime, so much so that this West is powerless to prove anything. Putin revived in the Russian people, which was lost after the collapse of the USSR, the imperial worldview inherent in him and Great-Russian chauvinism (3). For the sake of Putin’s goal, which was not voiced, to restore the empire within the borders of the USSR, the Russian people are ready for any hardships, and even more so for removal from any competitions there, without which it is already clear that the Russian people are the most ...
I am sure that Putin uses the WADA decision to strengthen anti-Western sentiment among the people and to support in his fight against the enemy encroaching on Russia's sovereignty.
This Russia is a prehistoric pangolin that has survived to our days, which has no place in the modern World. Ronald Reagan rightly called Russia the Empire of Evil, but today Russia can be called the Empire of Lies (4). Putin has clearly shown that evil and falsehood are related concepts.
