So while there's a couple of web sites that I would suggest, just bear in mind that some of that information may not be 100% accurate.

That's not something that happens with any of these coins, The Ledger itself is wide open but who holds this bag and who holds that bag is not transparent when somebody drops 20 Bitcoins on an exchange, as far as a public View all we know is that that became came tradable money for them they could of turned it into Fiat bolted or they could have bought 10,000 of a much smaller coin.

Can some one code up or point to a website that allows you to cut out the non top 10, 20, 30 etc cyrptos by market cap, so you don't inflate the market cap by the long tail. Eg 1000 coins at 100 M each givens you 100B.....and 10,000 coins at 100M each givet you I T but its not really accurate and that's where we are heading.

There are several websites that claim this information but who knows whether it is true or not. Obviously Bitcoin has a pretty transparent structure to the development team in the management team above it, but for other coins who knows.

Think about it like this, if it's the stock market and my IPO goes public I sell a thousand shares, 60-90 days later, my company is going to release a report telling you exactly what happened to the dollar per share or $10 per share that you spent. All of our assets, liquid and not, every time we spent and every time we took in it's going to be clearly marked in a long and pretty boring report.

change the limit number in the link below into another number to get the top {whatever number} rank cryptocurrencies according to their market cap.

here you go:
top 5 :https://api.coinmarketcap.com/v1/ticker/?limit=5
top 10: https://api.coinmarketcap.com/v1/ticker/?limit=10

then you will have to manually or pragmatically add up the "market_cap_usd" values to get the total.

ah I wanted the lazy auto add
