Let's look at the root of this, shall we?
60 years ago, there is no way that after a parent heard that his little daughter was taught how to have oral sex, that this same parent would take their child back there. That changed.
60 years ago, there is no way that a cross, star of david or could be taken down from a public arena because it offended someone. That changed.
in 1925 the Scopes trial: the orthodox way of teaching that the earth was created was upheld.
Later, schools began teaching evolution alongside of creation.
Now, only evolution is taught in the public arena, but it is not just taught. It is pushed HARD. every single nature show anything having anything to do with dinosaurs or prehistoric events presupposes evolution and the lack of God.
Now we are to reap what has been sown.
Without God making the rules that have been set down clearly in the Bible (or old testament only for the hews), Society makes the rules. When Society makes the rules, they can change. When you reject the possibility of having to meet your maker and explain yourself when you die is taken away, this is what you are left with:
You can do anything... to anyone... for any reason... as long as you can get away with it. Call it what you will, the illuminati the devil, social degeneration, but it comes out to being the same thing.
Take away God, the bible becomes a fairy tale. When the bible is a fairy tale, then it has less importance than the latest harry potter book, has little social influence, and therefore the social anchor is gone.
Look for the following:
Less marriage.
Shorter marriages.
More rape
More unwed pregnancy
More mass murder (columbine, newtown, etc)
More suicide.
Less trust in anything
More depression
For those of you would say that the bible is a scam and that God does not exist... So what? Less people will kill themselves if they live according to biblical standards, less people will live unhappy, guilt-ridden lives. So, I say "So What?" Believe it or don't believe it, when it comes to raising your children you have a choice.
Anchorless and tossed around my the morals of society, your daughter getting passed around at parties or your son doing meth at 14, or teach them to believe the Bible and those things won't happen. (yeah, you have to live by the bible's standards too otherwise all bets are off)
Wow. I agree for the most part. I guess you are saying that all of society should be living by the Bible's standards regardless of what they believe? This is probably the way it used to be in early America and I would have to agree it was a more "moral" world for sure.
I am not sure what the best approach is now for changing the world though. We can try to beat people over their heads with Bibles and tell them to "repent." I was just reading 1 Corinthians 13 tonight though and I am humbly reminded that the most important thing of all is to love others. I get so frustrated and angry with the world but I really should have a heart that is broken and pray for the world around me that is in need of hope and the joy that many are lacking because of the moral decline.
