Often we hear about the "incompetent government", about the "bad system".
But where do the members of the government come from?
Maybe they come to us from Mars? No, they all came from the people.
Who creates the System?
The Martians? No, they are also from the people.
Who votes in elections?
The Martians? No, people vote.
Who pays taxes on the maintenance of the government? People.
What kind of people - such power.
If the people are ignorant and suffer from alcoholism, then it has the corresponding power.
Do you agree?
Absolutely agree with you. We deserve the politicians who control us, because people are passive, lazy and do not want to take responsibility for their lives. It is much easier to play the role of a victim and blame everyone around for their troubles.
The state does not affect our life so much, as it seems to us. For example, we can get education, change a profession, start a new life at any moment. All we need for this is the Internet.
It will be better for everyone if we pay more attention to resolving those problems that are in our power and stop hoping for a good ruler who will take care of us.
I agree that we are all in power to change our lives. Even in the poorest of societies, it is possible to educate yourself and rise up. The only exception I can think of is maybe North Korea. Apparently, they don't have access to the internet there and they are very limited in their life choices. Everywhere else, it should be possible. Heck, even from North Korea, you could just run away. That's a good first step. It's extremely dangerous, but many people are doing it and it should greatly improve your quality of life if you succeed. We can't forget though that government can do a pretty good job of oppressing their citizens. We need to speak about about these instance and try to cause change for everybody instead of only focusing on ourselves.

Agree with you . Most of people in asian , they don't care about voting and just vote someone  they don't even know . And about the poor people , they don't even know their president's face . So i think they made their life keep going like that , the only thing they need that change the goverment .

Just like people, governments get stuck in their ways. Why do people smoke? Well, they get into the habit of smoking. In the same way, governments have lots of bad habits. Over decades and sometimes centuries, governments get more and more separated from the people. They build up militaries and security that "protect" them from the people. The open endless new offices and departments. The government becomes too large and becomes less and less effective. New politicians that come up also grew up in the same system. They are used to the way things work, so they don't try that hard to make and real significant changes. We need huge reforms to make any improvements in government.

Yeah sure!
A mediocre government is one who is given the mandate to govern a people who have voted for them.
These governments usually do not have any original ideas to development but only repeat the same showmanship who run shifts. The electorates themselves are part to blame by allowing this to continue..

Yes the govn't came from the people originally but today the people have 0 control over what the govn't does we can't change it from within because the system is broken we can't change it from the outside because the system in play is corrupt one designed to not let anything over throw it. It may have come from us but it is NOT us today. The govn't represents old idealogys and beliefs that most of the people do not have.

The reason bureaucracy moves slowly because people have no incentive to move fast. Once people have a reason to believe they may get fired or may not have the same level of comfort in their job, they get moving. That is why a lot of innovation happens after recessions when people have no comfort or pillow to fall back on.

I understand the sentiment. The government has failed us in so many ways that we can't help but point our fingers at them. In environment policies alone, they proved to be incompetent. And now the Trump administration wants to put industries first before people's health and the environment. We can't help but lose faith in the system. There is now fear for our future. We work hard everyday, but the government whose job is to lead us and ensure we are safe, are failing at their job.

We live in a democracy (most of us). We choose our government, if people put more time  and effort into looking into who they are voting for and why,  and what they want from a government things would change. We also can initiate change.

Mostly in election, the people really don’t have a choice at all, all the candidates are flawed and it’s the duty of the electorate to choose the lesser of two evils because that’s the only option we have.

if in my opinion I dont agree with the government that always rely on the people, because we know that the current system of politics affect the government, and in politics that many actions that are not good, often justifies any means to achieve his wish, then should let the people who choose absolute freedom, that's what I think about it

!!!

Absolutely!

Quote
9 That which hath been is that which shall be; and that which hath been done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun.

10 Is there a thing whereof it may be said, See, this is new? it hath been long ago, in the ages which were before us.

11 There is no remembrance of the former [generations]; neither shall there be any remembrance of the latter [generations] that are to come, among those that shall come after.

i can tell you, in the west and all other societies influenced by it the core government actors is an elite of esoteric freemasons, they are surrounded by male helpers that are usually gay males, young men in groupings were historically a form of power, and women that are happy to live among them since they are better off than in other societies.

they are not just "incompetent" they also totally rely on others helping them and trusting them.

I didn't use to agree with that, but, honestly, taking a look at my own country, I have seen how people choose a candidate based on their appearance and his wife. The government makes people stupid enough to vote for one or another based on a sandwich and in how they look. Take a look at Mexico, for instance. Enrique Peña Nieto, one of the most ignorant presidents in the whole world, was chosen because his wife used to be in TV, she's so-called "La Gaviota", and she was the main character of many 90's dramas of the most important --and stupidity provider-- TV channel, Televisa.
Most of the Mexicans just voted for him based on his "beauty" and the history from the TV, calling "La Gaviota" a woman deserving to become a princess. Now the complete country is a mess.
Also, people use to think about one or another candidate in the same way they think about football. They are with one or another political party basing their opinion in the feeling of "belonging", so they vote for one or another because they feel part of it, maybe because their parents are, but never because of the program.
In Mexico, the candidates, if you show you vote for them gives you $20 and a sandwich. And this is enough for many people to sell their votes...

So, yes. Maybe Platon was right.

Aye, agree

This, in true, can grow big. For example, the argument that if you, a person, cant run in deficit, why the government should run?

If you, a person, cant/coulndt/shouldnt do unethical stuff, why the govenrment do it?

In the way it is now it is almost as if we, the ppl, elect who can shot us in the head while we cant complain about.
