This is why you're not getting any merit, you don't know where to put your posts. This shouldn't be at this board. But I agree. I should be a Hero member as of now, but the merit system is just holding me back in being a hero member. But I think it's just fair for the bounties. More people are now having alts in bounties. So, merit system is the best way to stop them Wink.
Oh I'm sorry for my mistake but I do not know where to put it where appropriate and I think in the bitcoin discussion will have more people read and agree with me. But I find that there really is a problem here and that the forums could do better, publicly and without depending on some individuals.

The only people who are going to agree with you are the same group of people who couldn't get merits. You know what the problem here is? People still complaining about a new system that successfully and effectively warded off the account farmers and shitposters here on bitcointalk.
You think I'm wrong and I accept that, but the problems in the system are still there and you have to acknowledge the evidence I give. Actually the juniomembers like me are so hard to get the posts that the senior members attach importance to. So they choose to buy it or have their rank in the old position. Can you deny this?

I think the merit system is having really unfair things. In order to increase merit I have to bring to the community new things, both legendary and heroic ones who do not know. Then how can a newcomer join Crypto 2 years as I can do it. I still have some contributions for the community but what I know there are junio members and newbie do not know but they can not give me merit.
Another thing worth mentioning here is that, despite my quality posts and a lot of supporters, I'm not sure I got the merit. Is that too subjective?
My conclusion is that the merit system of the forum is too vague and too dependent on others. And this has resulted in a lot of money being spent to buy merit from the black market and that number should not be small. I think it's more changeable and clearer. I also want to be able to rank well for what I contribute
honestly, i do not need any merit at all.
I am here just to discuss and get information about the market. I am an investor.
but look at the reality, look at the economic forums. no information I can get there. they just do nonsense.
and I agree with the merit system.  Cool

This is why most forums with significant influence creates their own forum in their websites. Ex: Monero, Ethereum...

How to increase merit is a question I always have questions and no solution.

Be helpful and contribute to conversations by making constructive posts. That's just it. No secrets or whatever. If you're not receiving merits, it simply means your posts aren't good enough or you yourself don't know enough about bitcoin or cryptocurrencies in general.

i give you a good tip, join multiple young new communities. you get here merit 90% for bitcoin cheerleading and 10% for others neutral points of view
Really. Please show me that community. How to increase merit is a question I always have questions and no solution. But is your number right, when 90% will have merit in favor of bitcoin. Let me know more about that community, if I can improve my rank

yes, I understand what you mean, sometimes merit rules are not objective and have a wrong goal.

but I think that merit rules always motivate me to try to make good topics and create comments that have constructive, communicative, and useful value to other members.

You know what gets next to 0 merit these days? Complaining about Merit.

Things Merit does not prevent.

Learning, Discussing, Contributing. If this is what you want to do then there is no problem.

Merit is a gateway to ranking up in the forum, so if all you want to do is rank up for SIG campaigns, you should be glad you can wear one at all.

I can say the system is working as intended. I'm happy with what I have received and feel I took the time to contribute in a meaningful way.

Another post about  merit  Huh
I have doubts, most of potential member's will ignore you. Even I have put you on my ignore list. That means you will never receive any merit from them whoever keep you on ignore list. I am not able to understand your post. Even I am not giving priority on your English, but at least you have to explain whatever in your mind.

System is never unfair.  Rules are framed always to the benefit of the society.  We can not doubt the intentions of law makers.

But friend ; law breakers are more intelligent than law makers.  But if the people are not law respecting it's not the fault of the law.  Drugs are illegal in the universe but it is the one of the biggest trade being done.

There is one word illegal; it came  to existence because of some  persons working like this.

So instead of blaming the law; let us try to improve our work.  I think you may merit under this thread as rare case despite the fact the best quality posts you contribute.

There are certain other threads.  You should go there;  but I think luck + many other things may be working for merit earnings.

One reason why users need merits is to rank up and join to bounty campaigns in the forum but why focus so much on the forum when there are bounties outside the forum like blog/media campaign. So if you are so sure that this merit system isn't for you then go to that direction. I have joined blog bounties before and its great than spending so much time on merit systems you think is unfair. You will just add to spam as you keep posting so much that don't contribute.

I guess before minding the merit system, you should learn first where to put your thread in right section

Now transfer this to meta since this isnot about bitcoin discussions bro.

Just help the community, but before you can do this be knowledgeable first about everything in cryptocurrency and the technology behind this.so the merits will be given unto you in right place and right time

The only people who really complain about the merit system being unfair are the ones that doesn't post anything good enough.

Another thing worth mentioning here is that, despite my quality posts and a lot of supporters, I'm not sure I got the merit. Is that too subjective?
Wow! You have supporters? Also, can you quote us some of your "quality" posts?

The merit system affects the rank of the account and only.

You do not need to buy on the black market, sooner or later it will become obvious and you will have negative trust, then you will not be able to participate in most bounty companies.

Are they taking in any new merit givers? Maybe at the moment there are not enough merit givers to give out new merit to users.

That was what I think this morning when I see a new thread by newbie account.  There are a lot of merit given in that thread.  It's still first page thread when I saw it.  But that just my thought.

I also have the same thoughts. Its obviously too dependent to others within this organization. Badly, some won't waste their time thinking to give you a merit even you really deserves it. It was considered a fundamentals now to hit up your desired rank. No matter how you work hard to get the promotion you want, its still not easy as you can't do anything with it if there's no merit to be given.  Sad

It is unreasonable for me to see so many people who have just completed 10 merits or 100 merits to reach their desired rank. I suspect there is a trade here, a testimony that a few weeks ago in the forum someone asked to buy merit on the forum. I think bitcointalk is a place to share knowledge rather than a place to trade

indeed the merit system is very dependent on others who are willing to give it, but it is not easy to get in although our post is good not necessarily according to others good, which I know this system is actually to prevent people have many accounts
