Why don't you try one of those new altcoins just hitting the market. Their difficulty won't be too high for a desktop to handle...

Yes, XMR is probably the only profitable coin to mine via CPU.

The most important CPU characteristic appears to be # of threads and total MB of cache, because mining Monero requires 2MB per thread.

My old personal system running an i7-2600k (8 threads but only 4 usable due to cache requirements) gets about 145 H/s on XMR,

My new mining rig with an i7-6800k (12 threads but only 7 usable due to 15MB of cache) has been getting about 250-260 H/s on XMR since I launched it over the weekend.

Note that these results were via MinerGate, so using a better miner should yield an increase, at least to some degree.

go for xmr it is still profitable!!! if you can afford a xeon better !!!

Ah i really didn't think there are profitable coins to mine in CPU. Wherever i see everyone says CPU mining is dead already and you can't make a penny out of it. these coins are good and i give it a try.

Does these coins have exchanges, i googled it and found nothing

Hi all!
I have about 105 miners mining eth, the next idea to mine cpu coin with CPU Pentium 2,7Ghz
which coin more profitable?
any ideas?

Pascalcoin or some coin with algo cryptonite!

I'm splitting between Pascal/Cryptonight right now -- Pascal has really no value and may have no value ever but I'm hoping it turns into something.
10 of my rig now mining pascal, hope too))
