By the way, I don't really understand what you mean by free energy, if it uses solar energy, I don't think it's free either because it still requires maintenance costs and capital to build it. So, what do you mean by free energy?

Above I showed using the RTX 4090 as an example that GPU mining is unprofitable even with free electricity. Free electricity is electricity that costs 0 cents. If you pay for electricity, then mining will only be profitable for YouTube bloggers who shoot content and earn money from advertising.
I don't think so, I think there is still an advantage to mining using the latest gpu like the RTX 4090 that you mentioned, although the profit is very small, and this is different from last years where people still got profit when mining using gpu or even cpu. And as I said before, there is a need to mine token or coin that has potential, in order to get big profit in the future. Just to add, if op still a beginner, maybe you can try mining using a CPU first, because it feels a bit of a loss to try using a GPU straight away, especially using the most sophisticated one.

It usually means someone else is paying by using an employer or school system, probably without asking.

Hi, which is the most profitable crypto/software to mine with a gaming pc?
Energy is free in my case.
I don't really know for now what can be profitable to mine, but I see that the miners who have experienced quite a large profit from the mining results they have done last year, including those they mined were Kaspa, Verus, Zano. So I can conclude that what needs to be done is to analyze and research the coins or tokens that we will mine, so that we can also get profit from the increase in value. For reference, you can try looking on these sites :

- Whattomine
- Nicehash

Pick your GPU and enter your power cost as 0 (at the top right).

You don't even need to insert 0 into the cost of electricity. The Revenue 24h value is the value of the received coins without the electricity price Smiley
The GeForce RTX 4090 has a great payback period, almost 6 years Smiley Smiley
It's a very bad time to be mining on video cards. It is still profitable to mine if you already have video cards and a location for mining from previous years.

The most expensive video card RTX 4090 revenue is $1.1 per day. This is very little,

This indicates a payback of more than 3 years, which is a very long period for a video card, or in other words, mining is unprofitable even on free electricity. I would choose a silent ASIC for home.

There's no software developed yet to mine BTC with a gaming PC or even you mine altcoins;
Thats not true , you can still use some of the old Versions of Cgminer 3.7.2 and below or some speciall SgMiner Versions below Version 5.0 for mine Scrypt or SHA-256.
I still have some Versions of a few Miningsoftware Version where i have mined back in the Days around 2012 -2013 for Bitcoin and Litcoin with a GPU.
But yes i agree it will take 100 years for maybe getting something out of it  Cheesy

Mining with GPU's is no longer profitable since 2022, but there are still many people mining with GPUs and hoping for miracles.
It depends what you want to mine.

I would say that you should be buy the coins you want to mine before you start mining.
If you dont know the basics of how to use Miningsoftware and all that stuff you can damage your GPU and PC.

Happy New year 🤗
There's no software developed yet to mine BTC with a gaming PC or even you mine altcoins; the ROI will take decades even if the power source is free or paid.
Mining with GPU's is no longer profitable since 2022, but there are still many people mining with GPUs and hoping for miracles.

If you want to be a profitable miner, then go for ASIC; it is more efficient than GPU. Check this tool below to check all profitable ASICs.

Electrical engineer. Mining since 2014.
You are asking about altcoins, since with PC it makes no sense to mine btc. Btc mining nowadays is only carried out with ASICs.
