IEO are safer only if you invest in ieo from exchange like binance etc. Small exchanges ieo can still scam you.
What is most shocking about Centra ICO is that it raised $32 million from ICO. It means people have lost 32 million who invested in this project. Also this is just one project. we cannot imagine how much people have lost in overall scam icos.

Lesson here is dont just believe in one project because you see that one of the famous people advertise it, thats what advertising is mostly a lie there is no difference on commercials in there you can see the food is good but when you buy you are not satisfied because its not what you see on their advertisment.

Newbies will really fall for such endorsements especially those big ass name that endorses it and good thing this forum exposed much of them, this forum might be the one been active so far to expose such.

"Detecting Scam after happening" is the mistake we are making, which encourages scammers to do more.
We must educate all beginners about not investing in projects and how to know the negative indicators that make you know that the project is a scam or honest.

Easier is to consider everything as scam and then select that ones that aren't. You will have much easier job to do Cheesy

since 99,9% of ICO's are scams not only according to me but andreas antonopolous also.
Endorsing is nothing, you can buy endorsement, they just post a photo with text/item and thats it. For $20000 or $100000 in case of Floyd they have no problem with that, its only one photograph for that money.
You need to be careful, period.

Since I've been in crypto haven I've came across many scam projects that get busted one way or the other but none have surprised me alot like CENTRA

Centra (CTR) was a project introduced in 2018 and i carefully investigate this project,centra was more than just an established ICO,and what surprised me even the most is centra was trading on biggest exchanges with huge scale trades including Binance and Huobi.

Centra ICO raised $32 million,they even employed big names to underwrite its supposed new financial framework.

Centra appreciated the supports of DJ Khaled and Floyd Mayweather, who were later called to affirm on their association with the undertaking.

The Centra scam finished significantly and the scammers were apprehended,later the token was delisted on the exchanges listed.

A Scam project that goes that far is what I described as SCARY to me,till date i still kinda feel like some scam projects are well created and its almost impossible to fish them out.

The best way for investors and bounty hunters to stay safe is helping eachother out,if you find any project that's shady somehow don't hesitate,I'd be glad to look into it more and once we have proofs let's spread the words so newbies and investors won't fall victim,God bless
