Thats a lot of researching. For sure there will be some movies whom acted by famous actors that will hit the real idea of bitcoin and people will see its meaning. One thing to spread of bitcoin knowledge is through film so i am hoping there would be a high quality movie that will show the world how bitcoin works. This is good if some big actors or actress would play a role for this so viewers would actually watch it.

Thank you, it's true that bitcoin movies starring famous celebrities who have a big influence on most of us are needed for bitcoin movies to reach more people. The movie in which the content is professionally built with a more complete plot. The films I mentioned above are mostly short documentaries, so it's a bit dry and little known.

While the documentaries are cool and it is awesome to see members of this forum having their contributions shown, I get more excited when I see Bitcoin make an appearance in more popular culture and movies. My favorite is ... "Bitcoin: The End of Money As We Know It" - because it came at a perfect time, when Bitcoin were stagnating. The movies mostly concentrate on the negative side of the Bitcoin use case, where it is associated with money laundering / hackers and crime. Roll Eyes

Not really into short-form documentaries about bitcoin and cryptocurrencies but I found "but how does bitcoin actually work" by 3blue1brown which you can watch here to be the most in-depth and interesting bitcoin video out there. Tackled everything you need to know about computing and bitcoin, how it works on a fundamental level, which gives every newbie an in-depth journey in the inner works of bitcoin so they can gain proper understanding of how it works. It's also a little dumbed down by removing most of the hard to understand jargons which is really great for people like me who's not that keen when it comes to stuff that is a little hard for me to grasp in one go.

And, curiously the thread has the title "movies" but most are documentaries, I don't know all of them, but curious is that the film that refers to the forum and perhaps one of the most notorious cases is not there, Silk Road:..., available in prime.

Obviously none of the ones I mentioned are free to use or available on YouTube, but it's worth mentioning.

Those "movies" or should I say "documentaries" are very helpful for those newbies to learn something about Bitcoin.
It's like these if you're a newbie, and you want to learn the basics of Bitcoin, these are the ones that you need to watch. Now if you want to make money, these videos aren't the ones that you need. Find another set of videos where the topic is about how to make money from Bitcoin.

When I was still starting, some of the documentaries that you've shared OP are the ones that I had to watch, and I had to watch each of them multiple times so that it will stick to my mind. I don't know, but is documentaries and movies the same because most of the videos that OP shared are more of a documentary than a movie. Anyway, I recommend all of the newbies out there to at least watch those documentaries multiple times, focus on watching, and as much as possible do it alone so that you can focus on the video because most of the contents of the documentaries there will help you in the long run.

I think I'll go back in watching educational videos again especially the ones that some shared here.

bitcoin is become something that really trendy, it is good for the growth of bitcoin adoption. I didn't know that the number of movie which include bitcoin in it's content is that many, but it seems that many of that movies are serious. I hope there more various genre on that list so the information about bitcoin will spread among various people. include bitcoin in comedy, horror or romantic genre seems not so relevant but if the story is good then I think there is no problem.

Also, may I suggest Unfriended: Darkweb, it touches on the darkweb and crypocurrency, although it a relatively bad light but still a good watch.

Am a not a movie type of person as I do prefer reading books and to say the truth, I have very limited knowledge about Bitcoin movie and the Bitcoin cartoon was the first one I actually watch and even that one was because I came across the reference from the forum here. I know Bitcoin has come a long way and it's growth is leading to different areas so seeing all these development is actually normal but I feel most of these movies can potray Bitcoin as a bad influence since most people just want to kill it.

These movies have to be interesting to watch if not it will still not attract people to watch it to the end to actually here more mentions of bitcoins. If the movies are not worth watching, people can easily loose interest from the beginning.

If you want to understand more about bitcoin, we have available documents, youtube videos that explain everything about bitcoin in detail and clearly. why don't you go to them, why waste time looking for a movie about bitcoin? to be honest, I have no interest in bitcoin movies because its purpose is not to propagate bitcoin to people but producers are taking advantage of its popularity to make movies with the desire to bring in revenue for them.
If you really want to learn about bitcoin you should be serious about it, a documentary or a cartoon about bitcoin is never a good way to learn about it.

Documentary films are good because they respect facts and reflect it neutrally enough. It can be better than live videos from influencers on social media which don't neutrally reflect what happen in society. Influencers only make live videos on what they like or hate, they lack of neutral balance.

With documentary films, you will get some overview information around events in the film as well as some insightful remarks. It is helpful information but you must draw your own conclusion with information from documentary films.

If you are here to make money by trading and investing, then movies about bitcoin is not the thing for you. At least hollywood movies who might portray BTC in the wrong way like being used by criminals and the underground like dark market.

Jimmy Zhong is a user and hacker who exploited Silk Road and successfully got many bitcoin from it.

Eventually he was arrested but his story is very dramatic and you can watch the documentary video to understand more

I see relatively Bitcoin movies on YouTube. He helps you understand how Bitcoin moves and not only BTC and other cryptocurrency. They release some video about cryptocurrency daily and weekly. There are a large amount of well-made crypto factual that have always been released on the YouTube.

It is true that there are many movies about bitcoin, but there is not a major work that resonates with the world about Bitcoin's place in the financial community in the world.

The bitcoin related movie I have watched and also enjoyed is 9lives. Although the movie was not all about btc but there was some scene that the producer made btc to be known. Am not good at analysing movies but anyone who have seen that movie will get what I mean. I was really impressed to see how btc was portrayed in the movie.

To be honest, I didn't know that there were so many Bitcoin movies. That's impressive! I've seen about two or three of them so far, and I think one of them is also available on Netflix. "Trust No One" isn't on the list, but it was a good movie. I've also watched "Banking on Bitcoin" which is a really interesting film.

IMHO, movies related to Bitcoin are really good because they can help people learn about it through these documentaries and maybe even inspire them to start investing in Bitcoin and crypto. It's like promoting Bitcoin and crypto in general through movies which is great because I'm sure many people enjoy watching movies and would like to discover new things each time.

Thats a lot of researching. For sure there will be some movies whom acted by famous actors that will hit the real idea of bitcoin and people will see its meaning. One thing to spread of bitcoin knowledge is through film so i am hoping there would be a high quality movie that will show the world how bitcoin works. This is good if some big actors or actress would play a role for this so viewers would actually watch it.

It won't be long we shall see those kind of movies that its story is solely related to Bitcoin. Some series I have see on netflix has those sc nes where BTC was somehow discussed though.

The very recent I hve seen was the BEEF series which the main character lost money thru trading and hes pretty much broke for the rest of it. Not a very fun stuff but a funny movie.

The ones above are documentaries related to Bitcoin. The ones that I have watched was the 2nd. The end of money as we know it.

The Ross Ubricht Silk Road documentary was more interesting to me actually. Its also avaliable on youtube afaik.

Unfriended Dark Web is also a good one to watch where dark web and cryptocurrency is involve. It's thrilling and kinda gross to watch since murder and other disturbing things that happens in the dark web is there. It's story is about a guy or a girl I can't remember it well but they found a laptop in a cafe where the guy works and they opened it out of their curiosity. The laptop has a cryptocurrency wallet that has a lot of money so they are having second thoughts to return it to the owner.

And that's where their nightmare begins when they explored the laptop files.

I thought it was just a clickbait since common movies are 1 hour long. But dang I clicked the links and find out there's a lot of sources of Bitcoin movies that are actually free. These list are so many so it took a long time to gather these information so salute to the OP. I always find a series or movies mentioning Bitcoin so I think it is a good advertisement to Bitcoin as well like the series Euphoria. Since the girl (Kat) want to receive some payment anonymously so her fans used Bitcoin so she took advantage for it without revealing her identity.

There are quite a number of movies where you would have heard the mentioning of bitcoin but the whole movie is not focused on bitcoin while some would have a lot to say about cryptocurrency in general since bitcoin falls under same category, but from the list OP has given us here, am not familiar with anyone from the list and this may be due to my lack of committed time to watching movies but if the list i can see truly exist and talks about bitcoin then am going to give some trial in watching some, i could also get some taughts from there in addition to what I've known before.

I wasn't aware that there are many documentaries available on different topics concerning Bitcoin.So are they all available on YouTube or any other platform? I have seen it's reference based in some movies but little or say 1-2 dialogues about it but haven't watched short movie on it.So will try to see them and observe what they have tried to convey through it to the audience.
