Football and cricket are exciting games and there is no situation to control emotions in this game. So no matter how much we talk about controlling emotions, no one can control emotions in the last minute especially in stressful situations. As a supporter of Argentina in the last World Cup, I was not in a position to control myself or control my emotions.

That is just half of what most fans can show for the love of the beautiful game, see football is a game of passion, sometimes it goes your way sometimes it doesn't, and we will start looking for whoose head will go for it, I know that it is actually wrong for the press man to start laying abuse's on the Coach, which I know that his emotions are getting the better of him, he will come back to his senses when his emotions has subsided.
It is very good that we as a football fan can control our emotions because results can't go out way every time, so it's important as a football fan that we should always have our emotions in check even as a bad loser that we are, their are some fans that goes as far as sending death threat to coaches, player or even a reff, which is really bad, and it's not a good thing, and we should all stop it for the love of the beautiful game.

Football is a game of passion and emotions are always attached towards it. The Ghanaian fans are just showing their frustration because they love their national team and they expect them to make them proud. A team like Ghanaian team couldn't win a single game in the group stage that's very bad and they players should show some level of commitment towards their national team. I don't blame the Ghanaian fans for their display.

Right. Ghanaian fans are just crazy passionate about football. They're upset because they adore their national team and want them to shine. Going through the group stage without a win is tough, and fans are rightly calling for more commitment from the players.
Ghana fans look angry, this is natural because they consider themselves strong, so losing to a weak team makes it difficult for them to accept the reality. And in my opinion, Ghana fans have a sense of right to express their anger demanding that their team should not lose to any team despite the fact that they performed poorly at AFCON.

But apart from all that Ghana Fans should also try to find out why they have never won the African championship, That might help. Feeling sick after every match is normal, it is normal for them to be disappointed, angry and so on. In fact, there are no more small teams in African football. The choice is that you rise on the field or be defeated. Because when playing Football, Past records don't mean anything when you start.

Football will always make many of us feel very emotional. Some compare that in football it is like measuring up in wars. It is a very understandable comparison, which is why football is considered the king of sports. For many it is the most beautiful passion in the world, whatever Facet of soccer that each of us has, I have been a fan of Soccer since I was Little and I have practiced it, I never managed to reach a professional level because in the country I am in they do not support the players well. Athletes, things are very different, they are eager to grab money , Athletes who play well and do a good job simply do not give them the Support they Should, this is something that always occurs in my case, I think That's why they don't have a good performance, even so there are many friends who are veryTalented , but a person who plays Soccer very well and doesn't receive support becomes demotivated.

As for emcoins and what many fans say, things can be like that , and I think they can get into any type of behavior, even racist, which is something I don't like very much , because we are all the same, no matter what Whatever race you are , everyone Deserves Respect and it is not fair that they get involved in that, even so, whatever an offense means , things would be Very Different , what happened there and what Happens in the world of football is what overshadows the sport. There is nothing more beautiful than enjoying football in all its facets, but with respect, football makes you make friends, football is for everyone, if they used football to make great friends, I think things would be different, Everyone makes their effort and everyone always has things to do, so this is something that can be very decisive, I personally always say that the main thing about football is knowing how to enjoy it and that there is no violence in any way.

Before now I believe we already know that football is a game of passion, spirit, and emotion which always influences the die-hard fans, or supporters into doing or saying some bad things out of emotional anger.
If watch the premier league, Brazilian league, etc this is something that happened at some point but only a few fans can avoid his/her supported team losing to the underdog team.
If the Ghanian supporter don't fight or damage properties they are pouring their heart out and thats still fine

Exactly. I think it's football games that I would really excuse going bonkers and crazy cause that's the culture of the game in the first place. You wouldn't go to a carnaval in Brazil and have them stop their floats and partying just cause it doesn't seem nice for you for them to be that loud in the dead of the night. There are certain situations where emotions are called for, and I think football's just one of those games that deserve to not be called out for when they go stupid like this lol.

For one, it makes for good content, people will keep watching and supporting the sport when they see that people are this passionate about the game across the planet. It also inadvertently makes the game better and safer cause if people could just go about doing something like that, then for the safety of the players and the coaches they might want to install even more robust systems to keep them safe.

There's just a lot of positives about this and all OP's looking at is the Ghanaian fans cursing at the coach.

The Ghanaian national team drew against mozambique, and the entire Ghanaian fans and press team where outraged by the performance of their black star's. in their minds eye they feel the Mozambique team where a weaker side for them to win and qualify for the next round, but rather they drew 2-2 and crashed out of the AFCON competition.
One press man was vigorously abusing the Ghanaian coach as he was walking pass them, calling him unprintable names.
As gambler and a football fan, it most appropriate for you to always show a good level of emotional intelligence whenever results doesn't go your way, because that's the spirit of sportsmanship,
The results must not always go your way as a gambler, you will lose some and you will win some.

It's correct, but it is nothing special to the AFCON teams. I think we all remember when coaches like Jose Mourinho behaved outrageously or when some coach freaked out and called other coaches or the referee names. It shouldn't be like that, but I am sure that emotions getting out of control will remain a part of any game, whether that happens in amateur or in professional leagues. There is something to learn from it, but it doesn't mean that there will never be an idiot crossing the boundaries for good or acceptable behavior again.

But I think that especially the club's representatives should make sure that they don't fall out of line and understand they are role models for so many people.

Getting to that point already is too much. If you are getting way too emotional about football, then you are doing something wrong. Don't get me wrong, it's normal to get happy when your team wins, but you should not be really getting too much emotional after a loss or something, or get too hyped about a game before the game starts, or care about the end of the season results too much.

I understand it if you are talking about a small amount, like a tiny bit, but nothing more. It should be at the same level as watching a movie and rooting for the hero, do you really feel like you should be obsessed about a hero in a movie winning the fight? Of course not, well football is just something that is done to keep us happy, that's it, if you are feeling any more, then you are doing it wrong.

Emotional intelligence is what most fans especially football fans do lack because they usually allow emotions take a greater part of them trying to be fanatic about the game of football, some of them even go as far as doing some crazy stuffs which causes chaos in places of unrest.

The results of games are not expected and are definitely not going to go our way most times and this is better understood if we allow ourselves to be better entertained than the fanatic nature have a better part of us when watching football games as dose more harm than good and have a better part of us and we may suffer some negative effects such as becoming sad and may even get depressed in cases of extreme emotional involvement. As football fans to enjoy games it's better to watch for entertainment and not just because you are a fan alone.

It is normal for one to attach emotion in football, more especially when result turns against their wish, sports in general work with emotions and it how it is, note, a gambler gambles to win and he doesn't win he will feel bad because money and emotion is involved, gambling without something at stake is not real gambling, though two events are bound to occur in gambling which is winning or losing, gamblers should know this, but in real sense, no loser will be happy that he lost, that's natural, even when your favourite team win in a particular match but performed poorly you wont be comfortable too because the next match might not be favorable to them, what am saying in essence is that as a gambler or a football fan it is not bad to attach emotion but it shouldn't be extreme.

At this stage I am not trying to claim, that I am better in the spirit of football sportsmanship. For me, it's so sad when fans express excessive anger at their favorite team. That doesn't mean we can't be angry and disappointed, but in principle our spirit of sportsmanship must be upheld. reading from what you wrote in this post, it would be very unfortunate if there was one of the newsmen who should be able to act neutrally but instead provokes situations and circumstances. To be honest, I don't know the details of this match, but the impact of provocation by someone can create chaos and even riots. yeah, like what happened in my country in 2023, the Kanjuruhan riots.

Referring to what you said, specifically the title of this thread. I just want to add that controlling emotions is not the main point. but more about awareness, and increasing a strong sense of tolerance. for example, I have a favorite team, namely Barcelona and Arsenal. sometimes, these two teams play with poor performance. I often criticize from my point of view, but not to judge him. Likewise, when I bet on another team, even if I lose, I'm not used to cursing. Tolerance and the spirit of sportsmanship must be upheld, for example when Barcelona were slaughtered by Real Madrid in the Supercopa de Espana. Even though Barcelona is my favorite team, I give high appreciation to Don Carlo and his team because they deserve to win. Likewise with Barcelona, they have done their job very well but unfortunately Real Madrid is better prepared in all aspects. Just enjoy the moment, especially if the match presents an exciting match with beautiful modern football style play. As a football fan, watching a decent and exciting match is enough. After all, every season these teams will always face each other, so there will always be situations of losing and winning. Well, so awareness is just as important as controlling emotions.

This is not all about gamblers but it has to do with every football lovers, sometimes people can't control their emotions when they're angry and they speak angrily whenever they have the chance to, sometimes I also speak this way not because I hate the team or the coach but because of their poor performance I never expected I will definitely get angry and speak out. What the guy did was very wrong firstly you don't have to insult anyone straight to their face, that's very wrong.
I don't think anyone in this situation can change due to the lack of self control and negative emotions.

I think that was rude. I will never do that no matter what. Money can only be found again but the reputation will hard to be restored once it was tarnished. So, all must be careful on how they will carry their selves especially in public places. There is no need to predict what will be the consequences of doing it because it is already obvious. Yes, anything is possible in sports and as well as in gambling.

There are instances that it was actually unreal or manipulated. But again we need to control our tempter when things like this happen. And we should realize that it was also our fault because why we are here in the first place? I guess that means we agreed about the potential risks that that can occur.
I also think like you that it's rude but that's how it happens. Those who are already emotional will not think about the impact or risks they will experience because they just want to express their emotions until they are satisfied by destroying public facilities. And we have often seen this happen everywhere and it causes great damage to the city. Such potential will probably be there and it depends on each person's response to it. We just need to be careful in our actions so that we don't experience bad incidents.

I believe they failed to understand the fact that in a game there must be a winner and a loser and also to not underestimate your opponent. Maybe the Ghanian team and fans expected the match to end in their victory forgetting that the game was a bone of contention between both teams. Possibly the players were too relaxed and free while thinking they could win it all very easy but to their greatest dismay they  could not qualify through the match. Although it is very disappointing but they should not have taken it that far by abusing and insulting the coach and team players.

This kind of situations happen when the people involved are not entertainment conscious but are just thinking of winning it all by all means which did not go down well with them. I think they need to be oriented to know how tournaments are. After all other previous AFCON tournament they have been playing did they cause their team and coach.

Not only Ghanaian fans are crazy passionate about football, but football fans are in general more crazy than any other sports fan. I have never heard that in any other sports, fans throw something on the field (fliers for example) to make opponents team fail. I have never heard that there are any sports fans, that fight against opposite team fans after the match. Ultras for example. Cant remember any other sport that football where there are such fans. I cant remember that there are any sports fans, that destroy the city, overturn cars when their team looses.

Are they that good in the last few seasons? From what I've seen their rank on FIFA is not that high compared to other participants. Granted you can't really use that ranking as a basis to judge the result, but I still think that shows a little bit of how their international match performs.

Btw, does the sentiment about lack of commitment really exist? Their matches are quite tight as far as I'm aware. They managed to score goals quite well, although their defense is poor. Stats-wise they never look like a team that dominates the game, which works quite well other than the fact that they still concede goals[1]. CMIIW.

Football matches can easily trigger fans to do unreasonable things, which has happened in many places. They can express their emotions easily without predicting what the consequences will be. But anything can happen when it is on the field and when the unseeded team can withstand attacks from the favored team and even win against that team, many people will not believe it. But that's why the world of sports always has its surprises, so we have to understand them and be able to accept them well.

We all know that football is a game of passion and emotions but c'mon if you need to criticize a team for an aweful display then go ahead, it shouldn't call for the raining of abuse on the coach and players. This year's AFCON is somewhat different, the tournament is getting tougher and big teams are no more favourites. Ivory Coast, Algeria, Tunisia have also been knocked out from the group stage. So Ghanaians should take a chill pill, accept their failure, work harder and come back stronger next time.

It is not only the fans that need to moderate their emotions and reactions to a negative outcome on the field, the same can be said about the media as well, the media in order to get more people to give their attention to them will do anything to obtain it, so they purposely rile up people with the intention of increasing the support for their team, not understanding that this can have awful and sometimes even lethal consequences, when people take the love for their team to the extreme.

The emotional decision will not the right one to the gamblers and traders.Because both gambling and trading need of the patience to make money from it.Because the loss may trigger your emotions in the gambling, the gamblers should not build the anti-ego against the gambling site to recover the loss. This was the impossible situation for the gamblers to get away from the gambling emotions after the loss in the gambling site. But the gamblers who had enough self confidence only able to make the decision to get away from the emotional decision after the real money loss in the gambling site. The gamblers should improve their gambling skills.

The media that is driven by the desire to capture attention and boost engagement sometimes tends to sensationalize situations which contributes to the heightened emotional reactions from fans. When the media deliberately stirs emotions to increase support for a team, it may inadvertently push fans to extreme reactions. Media outlets are supposed to recognize the potential consequences of their actions, because passionate sports fans may take their allegiance to the team to the extreme.

Promoting a more balanced and responsible approach to reporting can help mitigate these risks. Media outlets can contribute positively by providing fair and constructive analyses that foster a healthier sports culture, and encourage a more measured response from fans in both victories and defeats. Fans play a crucial role in the vibrancy and passion of sports, but it's important to channel that energy in a positive and constructive manner.

This is why i've been avoiding this tournament because the previous AFCON wasn't any different. As a sports bettor, I agree you need to learn to accept these bad results because even the best teams can start to crack on their bad days, and expressing negativity to the players and their management won't solve anything.

It's not about being a gambler. In that situation, fans are just disappointed because that is something unexpected to happen.
The video links OP shared might not be gamblers, but some people can be just as emotional or even worse when their bets lose because of a specific player or team.

Regardless of the outcome of any football match I don't think the fans of any football team should act so unprofessional because the results of the game didn't go their own way, too bad that after the poor performance of Ghana which actually took them by surprise because they played like a team that had already won the match before it began, the team and her fans couldn't control their emotions and at the get got things messy again. I think there is a need for CAF to sanction the entire Ghanaian team and her fans whi h started the drama so that they will learn to control their emotions when next they play in the nations cup.

Personally I have been supporting a particular club for years now and I understand how it feels when things don't go as planned but weake no troubles than to accept the outcome of the game and work harder to win the next game. Football is a game of luck and fun no one should be violent when the game doesn't end in their favor.

In a football match, we will never know for sure what the result will be, even though the team we support is stronger than its opponent. As football fans and wise football gamblers, the ability to accept the end result is quite an important skill and we must have it. The thing called football is like gambling, both of which involve an element of luck and the results of the match do not always match the hopes and predictions we made in the past. because there are always possibilities that occur beyond our previous expectations.
-snip-
Sometimes a strong team will not guarantee to continue winning, but at least there are still many chances of winning if the team we support is the top-ranked team and the opponent team is low-ranked.

Looking at how the quality of the players and how they play,
this will illustrate a little bit how the game goes, and the last one is indeed who will be lucky to win.

I'm not too fanatical about being a fan or being a football gambler, I'm just doing it for entertainment.
If the bet loses, maybe it's not time to win yet, so it's worth being patient and doing it again.

It is obviously very important to control your emotions Everytime you want to out your money in any gambling activities,he who doesn't know that your emotions is the most important thing when you are entering into it.It would depend on how strong you are,and how heartless you can be when you lose money.A soft hearted  person cannot invest money into it because he would cry and lose his voice because  gambling has taken  away his little possession. Therefore,There is need to always control your emotions when you've started playing because if you don't do that,it will definitely come to worry you.

To be honest, I'm from Mozambique and I planned to bet on Ghana, for me, even though I really like my country's national team, in my head my country's national team had no chance of winning in that game, unfortunately I didn't have money in my account that's why I didn't bet on Ghana to win. Now talking about emotions, Ghana was not the only team that lost points and left their fans angry, Ivory Coast also lost points and left their fans very angry. I think that what is happening is that for many years teams like Ghana, Ivory Coast, Cameroon, Nigeria, Egypt, Tunisia, Morocco, Algeria were seen as the strongest teams

I was just about to ask OP what's the status of both teams overall but when I read this post, it says it all. It's now clear to me that Mozambique is the underdog, that even worse than the usual underdog against the much stronger Ghana. It's a slap to the face on the Ghanaian team to lose over Mozambique which was supposed to be a bonus round for them but an upset happened.

If that's the situation that happened, I can't blame the fans for how they reacted. It's a problem that the Ghana team should work out.

But as the years went by, many countries started to have players who play for the big European teams too, which started to break the dominance of these big African teams. In that competition, teams that were seen as small teams ended up becoming strong teams, and with that, games involving those teams considered big in the past, had shocking results, in which teams considered big in the past, lost against teams that were seen as weak

I am terrible at Fantasy Football!!!
I think that was a little out of the rules of fanship because most of them don't know how to behave or conceal their miss feelings when the team and players fail to meet their expectations, so for that, we have to bear in mind that, this will not change as long as football matches and games are a concerned.
There was a similar situation in my country's stadium sometime ago when the fans stoned both the coach, referees and the other officials who were part of the team that led the club to the stadium, which made the football body ban some football activities in that stadium for some time.
So this is not a new thing to see fans going overboard in reactions to what outcome the club come up with this mostly happens in local football because the International leagues already have basic security architecture to secure the stadium and environs.

However, it would be wiser if we had a balanced and rational attitude towards football results and the betting activities we carry out, because at least this can help maintain a positive experience and minimize the negative impact of a decision or result that is not in accordance with expectations and predictions.

The results must not always go your way as a gambler, you will lose some and you will win some.

It's not about being a gambler. In that situation, fans are just disappointed because that is something unexpected to happen.

It's fine to show disappointment in their supporting team if it shows that the said team is at worst in that game. And of course, no violence on the part of the fans. That incident should serve as a wake-up call to the losing favorites to play seriously even against an underdog. They should bounce back in the next competition and show their fans what they made up. The whole team should think things went wrong during the match.

Usually, football fans do inappropriate things because their team has been defeated by the opposing team or cheating is taking place, so they vent their frustration within the stadium and even onto the streets, where it can injure other people. Such actions should be prohibited because they have crossed the line. Usually, the authorities immediately act if such an incident occurs and will protect innocent people who pass by that place. The violence committed by these fans is usually triggered by one or two or even several people, so they end up following him and doing inappropriate things. This requires awareness from fans so that they do not do inappropriate things and still uphold sportsmanship in football. They can submit an objection to the management and ask for a rematch if there is cheating instead of doing inappropriate actions or things.

It goes for many sports, but for some reason it is deemed more acceptable or action is not taken against individuals who conduct themselves so badly. Then again, the players are allowed to abuse referees on the pitch, which sets a bad precedent for the fans abusing officials or staff related to the teams as well. If the public fans saw a crackdown against poor player behavior, they would fall in line too. However any people who do these things should get incremental bans that do not reset, 1 month the the first time, 3 months the second time, then a year, then a lifetime ban. Public shaming of the worst offenders might also cause them a bit of self reflection too - as they often try to hide in the shadows. There are plenty of decent people out there who would love to attend these games and pick up any extra tickets that became available, plus a nicer environment would persist all round.

Discipline is supposed to be imbibed in every sportsperson. There is a need to understand that it's a game and there must be a winner so even when you don't win act disciplined on the ground that you are a human and everyone deserves some level of respect.

No doubt, football is a game of passion and it is difficult to differentiate passion and emotions. However, in my opinion, attaching emotion to sports is not bad but a person should only be guided against showing violence due to emotions.

Football gains meaning if there is love, peace and brotherhood. Football ceases to be football if there is intolerance, conflict and hatred. We must be free from all forms of fanaticism and hooliganism. Fanaticism and hooliganism are part of collectivist movements that dull the human mind. From time to time I feel similar situations in the tribune, so I decide to watch the matches at home even though I have a season ticket. I have never harmed anyone in my life because of football. I love football, but for me football is a subset of some value patterns that are more valuable than football.

Well I can't myself not guilty of over reacting because of football because that's the epitome of every football lover behavior. But I agree that violence is no way to go about this feeling with your team losing. The love for football has made lots of football fans do crazy things and some of them are just crazy for the sport and this is what keeps and binds all the industry involved in football and this love and rage will always be there because of the passion.

You can't blame fans for showing how they love their club or their country. It's part of the game and it happened everywhere around the globe.l
Let me tell you a story of what happened when I went to watch a match in a football film house, it's common here in my place, so this boy was is a stammerer and a hard die fan of Chelsea. His club was having challenges last season and this boy argued with his friend that Chelsea are going to win Leed United because they were in relegation zone then but in the end, Chelsea FC conceded 3 goals and lost, he was mocked and when he wanted to defend himself, he bursted into cry because he couldn't due to his disability but after the match, I saw him and his friends doing their things, that's football for you.

Did you know that Ghana head coach was sacked immediately because of what happened, they fumbled and disgrace Ghana for losing to Mozambique in 90+ minutes but I think the fans over reacted, some people seems like they are frustrated and we're looking to paste their anger on the players that didn't do well in the Afcon match.

People just have to know that in sports, for a team to win, the other must lose and vice versa, it is a game that is somehow unpredictable. So, attaching so much emotions will only be detrimental to the fan and even the team if he allows his emotions control his actions and utterances. It is very okay to love a team to the extent of feeling emotional over their defeat but raining curses and abuses on the team is no way an encouragement, it is an unpatriotic act for his country. It is a problem when the fans cannot manage defeat effectively even if they placed bets on their favourite team. Football is one sport that unites the world, if fans begin to cause big issues out of their favourite team's defeat, where then is the love?

there are some die-hard fans who really are investing too much emotion on their games. it is as if the athletes are paying them to defend them at all cost. these fans need to wake from the reality that these athletes won't be there if they cause trouble. actually, it is not good in their image if they are involved into nonsense trouble owed to some crappy reasons.

Football is a great game to watch but it also plays a lot of role on how we feel, think and react to some certain things that occurred during the process of playing and in turn if affects our emotions. We should not allow our emotions to override us as it is only a game of fun and can one day be in your favour and the other time, it will totally be against you. The Ghanaian National team were eliminated because of their poor performance and inability to win a team that ought to have been beaten by them. Underrating is not nice in a game of football and now they’ve to reap the fruits of their negligence in the first place. I saw that they also sacked their coach after they were not able to qualify for the round of 16 after all three matches were played. Let’s await and see the results of the other teams and see maybe they can qualify amongst the best third places in the group stage. But for now, they’ve ti just accept the result and take it as fate.

The results must not always go your way as a gambler, you will lose some and you will win some.

As we should. No one has guarantee of the result, that's why you gamble. As you gamble, you are betting also with your fortune and luck; part of this is to either lose or win. No matter how huge the difference with odds and handicap, only the result could tell things. With this, being preventive of your own emotions to get over you is the best thing as well as your discipline to the amount you are betting. A controlled bet would allow you to avoid regrets of losing huge money or satisfaction with the amount you will be earning after a winning bet; it might not be that much with what is everyone expecting but bottomline is that you earn profit from doing so. Efficiency is the key.
it is very unfortunate that the fans were unable to control their emotions which led to this unpleasant incident. even though it's quite annoying when your favorite team can't beat a trivial team, that's not an excuse to justify this dishonorable action, especially as ghana is one of africa's best national teams. this dishonorable attitude from its fans cannot be justified because it will affect image of the team.

fans should act normally and not overdo it when their favorite team loses because no matter what, all good or bad actions from fans will be related to the image of the team and that is why it is very important to be able to control your emotions as a fan.
That's part of the game; if you would win all the time, won't it be boring? It is normal to be frustrated especially if things did not go in accordance with what you desire but nothing will change; we just have to accept things and look forward for their next game. I believe it is one of our responsibilities as gamblers and as fans of the league. It will always be between the two; win or lose. Let us not be heartless to them just because things did not go well on our side. If they're your favorite team then prove it; favor them through ups and downs.

its funny how people assume that football is won by how big a team his or how popular a county his. No Country came to the afcon for the purpose of catching cruise or to allow their opponent win them just like that. The same way Ghanaians want to qualify for the next round of the tournament is the same way their opponent want it also it's just whichever team that put in the needed work that end up winning the match at the end of the day.

Talking about the reactions of the Ghanian fans towards their team, it's normal for them to react badly because some of them paid huge some of money just to witness the game only to see that  they could not win a single game till they were sent out of the tournament. It's enough reading to be angry but for a journalist to publicly rain insult on the national team coach is uncalled for and very unprofessional of him.

There are two things here. First, if the people were angry with the bad performance of their team, this aggression may not be because all of them were betting on the game and lost the bet but it could be that they want their national team to win and  due to a draw they were not able to qualify. Winning and losing is a part of the game, and there is no need to be angry or show such emotions on a teams loss.

Even if most of those people were gambling, and they were sure that they would have won this match, still nothing is certain is any sports and gamblers should manage their risks accordingly.  Even when you are sure the one team is weak this does not mean that they will lose. On a bad day for a good team, the upsets do happen and in that case, most of the betters will lose their bets.

Lol, there was so much emotion and frustration on this match, I can't help but think that maybe the fans placed some bets on their country? Or maybe they just can't help it because they have so much love for their country?
They might have placed some bets on Ghana and got furious by the fact the underdog team managed to draw against the favorite. Maybe they even thought results could have been fixed, what potentially justifies so much dissatisfaction and rage from the crowd. If they love their country so much it's not through soccer they should show it, especially when creating troubles and quarrels with the members involved on the soccer industry of the country. Love for the country is shown in the daily life, when focused in improving life quality of the population, seeking to see the country developing itself in education, health, infrastructure and technology sectors. Sports should remain in second plan, at least in countries which aim to develop themselves as strong, independent and influent nations.

There are so many important and meaningful things to be angry about, that to put all their energies into a lost soccer match seems a big waste. What difference would it make for real if the national team would have won? Would it bring more food into the table next day? Unless there was money wagered, the answer is no, so it really makes no sense to fight for something so insignificant like that, also because they may be risking their lives by doing so...

I also watched a short video clip were some fans vented anger on their national team, I think such kind of embracing behavior might discourage some of the Europe based players to stop coming to represent the country in their subsequent international matches, though Mozambique might be weaker compared to the star-studded Black Star of Ghana, their should be aware that a lot of lowly rated national team had up their game thus creating upsets especially in the ongoing AFCON for instance Ivory coast is the verge of being eliminated after losing 0-4 to an underdog Equitorian Guinea, Cape Verde is another tournament underdog who topped their table in a group which consist of Ghana and Egypt

Some people are die-hard football fans, and being ardent supporters of a team, they are emotional in what happens on and off the pitch. But a wise person will moderate things instead, no matter how you believe you are a lover of football and the side you support, there should be some level of respect for others and the belief that nothing is perfect in it. Fate also plays its role here, and no matter how believing and strong a team is, if they would lose at the hands of a very lesser team, they will, so we should moderate things. Frankly, if I was to bet on that match, I would have given my bet to Ghana, I thought the Ghanaian team would do better than what they played. Nevertheless, this is football, and we should be ready for what we never planned for as well.

In honesty, those Black Stars guys did well but were met with some stiff resistance by the opponent they least expected, and you can imagine what happened to Morrocco in their second game of AFCON where the opponent held them against what they ever believed, this is football, anything can happen. As for those talking bitterly, they are not just wise, some people's psychology and reaction to things are wrong, some are even mad mentally but are still living and talking like normal human beings, so you shouldn't be surprised by their ugly behaviour in most cases. Why the coach issue? These guys scored twice but were only held, the coach did well in my opinion, they were not just lucky enough to qualify for the next round.

There is no way you won't feel sad if your country lose a match, I could remember when I was young, the only football match I watch is the world cup, and I was always very excited about whats going to happen, it's just what it is, but some people do take this emotion thing too far at times.

Damaging of properties and getting angry unnecessary is not worth it, I mean it's not as if someone died or you lost a limb, I have a brother that I don't like watching a match with, because the moment his favourite loses the game he always get so angry that it affects people around him, I am not sure he is even aware of this.

Both people who bet on sports and people who just like sports need to be emotionally smart. In games and play, you can't be sure what will happen, and losing is normal. Getting angry and swearing are both bad manners. It's important for players to understand that not all bets will come true. This information makes you care about the game more, which makes it more fun. When you play games or watch sports, it's fun when things go wrong.

I've seen what football fans do on television. Football fans often do excessive things to express their feelings. They often damage public facilities when their top team loses, which is very unfortunate.

Well, a moment's emotion can destroy everything around us. It was support from the fans for their team but it wasn't necessary. Fans should be able to accept the results of the match sportingly, regardless of whether their team wins or loses.

The fans may not know how to compete on the field, trying hard to win but not being able to win. It was indeed very painful to see his team lose. But it's not over yet. There are still many games they can win. Fans should be able to think about that and not take excessive actions.

It is normal when we watch football and then see our country's national team fail to win the match and see many people who are angry and disappointed because of the national team's performance. But that does not mean that this disappointment or anger causes chaos or causes trouble so that it makes other visitors feel uncomfortable and we must be able to respond to it wisely, not get too carried away by having to accept whatever results our favorite club obtains because our job is only as supporters to encourage our national team to perform.

And when we are gambling and our bet loses, we also have to be able to accept it because in matches, sometimes there are always surprises, even clubs that we initially thought were weak can sometimes appear impressive against strong clubs. Betting in sports is not entirely correct and we have to be able to control ourselves. so that you don't get emotional easily if you lose, to avoid this it's best not to use large amounts of money so that it doesn't cause emotional turmoil when you lose.

Football fans are one of the craziest set of people whom can do anything that will annoy you without considering the role it plays in your life. Whenever you go to a place where a die had fans of a particular club is? You must need to accept anything he says in other to get rid of some unnecessary arguments if not they will continue to drag with you till thy kingdom come. So pretending as if you understand will be better.

Football sure is a fast paced and entertaining game. As every games there are win and loss, there's no reason for the fans to fight for the result of the game.
I know it would be emotional and probably financial reasons for them to get angry but destroying public property and attacking other people and the police is not justified.
As we look closer, fan violence is common worldwide, even in Europe where high level football is being played every day. Such violence has killed and injured multiple of people every year. The escalation has lead to large disasters. It's a bad thing to consider fan violence as football culture, football advocates of fraternity not violence.

as a bettor and football fan I never do this because I really understand how football actually always has unexpected surprises and as a bettor you will definitely understand this better so you won't feel excessive emotions when you lose because this is very common happens in football matches because big teams don't always win because sometimes there is something we don't know behind the scenes.
and I agree with some people who say that it is actually possible that Ghana fans may have bet on their favorite team so that they feel really disappointed by the defeat and are uncontrollably emotional and engage in out-of-bounds behavior.

this is a bad example for a fan as well as a bettor because this kind of behavior will only lead him astray when he has to deal with the law if he is found to have spoken harshly to a coach.
we as gamblers must be aware that football always leaves a few surprises that we cannot predict.

It was probably just a rush of emotions. While I do think it's not proper since according to the tweet, they were journalists so some amount of professionalism was expected, but considering the fact that a LOT of people expected them to win and they themselves are probably avid fans, they just really wanted answers as to why the teams performance was rather subpar. This isn't about sportsmanship I think anymore rather it's about erm nationality stuff? Since the team that represented them and they supported was rather disappointing.

We've seen far worse than this, throwing fires, people bashing the heads of the opposing fans, and more.
Keep it cool, keep it sport. That's the essence of being a sportsman and it's not just for players but also for the fans. If we see the team we are supporting being cool whenever they lose then we must follow that good feat. They can swallow their pride which means they are good sport and would sleep it through.
We can't be dragged by the emotions that are being given by the game. I know how frustrating it is especially when you have money on the line but that doesn't mean we will take out all our anger on the players we support or their opponents. If that's the case for us then we are better off watching on our televisions so that we will not hurt anybody. Or, we are better off not gambling anymore so that we won't be overwhelmed by emotions and do something not cool in the process.

I think men are sometimes too childish about what they seek in life. I understand being passionate about a football team - you may love them, you may be culturally tied to that team (like national team), you may prefer to bet win of your favorite team to share that emotion and such. But football is very lovely game as OP says, strong teams may not get good results sometimes. That's how we enjoy it. Surprises make betting more profitable and game more enjoyable to watch.

When I see people overreacting towards the performance of a team, I usually ask myself, "If they were those players, would they be able to even play like them? . " No matter if a team's performance is poor, they should still be appreciated because it's not easy to keep running, dribbling, attacking, defending, and also keeping the ball to prevent the opposite team from scoring a goal.

I can feel bad if my team performed poorly and caused my bet to burst, but you will not see me raining abusive words on those players because I know they also tried their best. If they did not try, then the opposite team would continue to score throughout the match, but they also tried their best to prevent further goals while also trying to score.

@OP, Everybody is not actually the same, and you cannot change it. Some people will overreact while others will not. That's just how it is, and it should be accepted that way because you cannot change every body's mindset.

We will never know what the final result will be. because everything is still a possibility and the potential to win. and as a bettor and football fan, it is quite important to be able to control your emotions well. and indeed this is a skill that is quite difficult for us to have, but if we consistently continue to do it, then it is not impossible that in the future we will be able to control our emotions well.

By staying calm and trying to avoid overreacting to the outcome of a match, this can help us make more rational betting decisions. And don't forget, before we decide to place a bet, we should first determine betting limits, because by doing this we can prevent emotions from influencing financial decisions. And henceforth, avoid it by continuing to avoid impulsive behavior by not making bets based on emotion or excitement, because at least to be able to make objective decisions, consider the facts and statistics. And finally, which is no less important than the previous points, don't forget to enjoy the entertainment and remember that football and betting should be entertainment, so consider always limiting the betting or gambling that we do.

"By combining emotional intelligence with knowledge of football, it can enhance your experience as a bettor."

You wouldn't understand the frustration of this AFCON until your country is a victim of the drop off group stage. Look at Nigeria for example, when we played against Ghana in the World club Qualifiers Africa is 202 in Abuja, a draw from that match can send us to the group stage but Ghana beat Nigeria and lose. That night, some Nigerians were angry and broke almost everything in the stadium, some players were injured and also many international fans and FIFA has to stepped in and that stadium has remain banned till today. So I understand the frustrations Ghanaians.

Mozambique clearly don't need that match because even when they lose, they will still disqualify and Ghana was leading them with 2 goals and all of a sudden, they lost to Mozambique in the extra minutes. That's a shame and a slap to Ghana because they shouldn't have let that happen, not only does good strikers win you game, you also need good defenders but Ghana had weak defenders yesterday.

Some fans always think that playing football is very easy. As an amateur footballer, I can attest that football is one of the most difficult sports in the world. Now in football, you don't underrate any team because they might surprise you. Ghanaian fans thought that Mozambicans would be a cheap side to get the maximum three points but they were disappointed. After all Saudi Arabia won Argentine and Cameroon beat Brazil in the last World Cup in Qatar, that's the beauty of football it is unpredictable. Ghanaian fans have every reason to be angry or criticise the national team for the poor performance but it should be done without violence or extreme verbal attack.

As for gamblers, we should know that no game is predictable so we should learn how to control our emotions when we lose. And this can be achieved only when we gamble with what we can afford to lose.

Sure, sometimes things get a little out of hand. We've all seen those videos of fans going wild, doing things they probably wouldn't do if they were thinking straight. But hey, that's the passion of the game, right? The love for your team runs deep, and sometimes it boils over.

But let's not forget that most fans are just normal people who love the beautiful game. They cheer their hearts out, they groan at the bad calls, they celebrate the wins and cry over the losses. It's an emotional rollercoaster, for sure, but one that we wouldn't trade for anything.

The thing is, football is full of surprises. That underdog team you never thought had a chance suddenly pulls off an upset. The star player chokes under pressure. The referee makes a call that leaves everyone scratching their heads. It's these unexpected moments that make the game so exciting, but they can also be frustrating, confusing, and even downright unbelievable.

And that's where things can get a little ugly. When emotions run high and people don't get their way, sometimes they lash out. But violence, vandalism, and abuse towards players and officials? That's never okay, no matter how much your team means to you.

Most times , over confidence will make some team loose matches , just like the Ghana team against Mozambique, they believes that they have all it takes to win the other side not knowing that football is a game of chance and luck.( By Arsenal winger).

The reaction of the fans emphatically indicates that Mozambique is of no match to the black stars and as such the black stars are supposed to win the match without stress but the Mozambique players betrayed their proposed confidence by holding them draw for 90 minutes .

One of the reasons why I liked European football is patience and efforts , every team believes that the final whistle will decide the winner so they often put their efforts and strength till 90 minutes .
In the case of fans reacting ,most of them have spent a lot of money just to come and watch the match , and some have staked a huge amount of money too for the black stars to win only for their hopes to be shattered.. however , they are trying to let the players know that they are not happy with their performance through their demonstrations.

That is why football is so fascinating, it gives opportunity for both teams and a rational fan knows this, hopefully action will be taken against that individuals (they cannot be called fanatics).

You know most people took footballing to next context where they have display their hatred over to the opposite club which played against their team and is unethical for someone to have such display towards the field. We can assume such person has emotional problems and needs to properly taking care of or when a gambler places a bets and it goes the other way round against his chosen team it also leads to such action, if you have been among gambler who watches match on a regular basis to monitor how the players are doing they often react same ways. This sets of fan or gambler are not meant to stay in single place with them watching match otherwise they are ready to fight you that jus speak against their team and coach.

That's why football is the most loved game in the world and I can definitely understand their frustration because the same feat transpired during one certain season that the super eagle of Nigeria failed to qualify for the AFCON and it was same black star of Ghana that cause it and behold the Nigerian fans were annoyed and started destroying things in the stadium now same fate has reached them as they have failed to get a victory in this game and Ghana being one of the top nations in Africa, I can obviously see why the fans are frustrated.

Football goes through incoherent stages in its fans and no matter where they are from, whether they are European leagues or African leagues, South America, the fan becomes deaf and attacks the rival, but worse against his own team.

It is a kind of collective fury, although it manifests itself individually in some cases. Fortunately, despite bad football results, things do not always end badly.

The frustration experienced by Ghanaian fans is too much, they should be able to accept whatever results are achieved because in football anything can happen. A similar surprise occurred when France was defeated by Senegal in the 2002 World Cup, even though at that time France's status was the defending champion. This very surprising defeat seemed to damage the mentality of the French players because they failed to progress from the group stage after only being able to pick up one point in three matches.

The reaction shown by Ghanaian fans was too excessive, perhaps the result of them losing their bet made them take out their defeat on the players who were fighting for their country. In football, any result is very difficult to predict, including the results achieved by Ghana at AFCON.

I wouldn't say that, the man behavior is strange. This is because maybe he has over confidently bet on his country to win the match with a huge sum of money, or he has bragged about his country winning the match but got disappointed at the defeat of his country, which made Ghana unable to qualify to the round of 16.

I have seen people like that, who cannot compose themselves when the are angry towards something, especially when their team loses, the insult and put all the blame on the team do their failures. Instead of accepting that football is a game of win or get defeated. Self discipline matters a lot in our interaction with strangers in public.

I can understand such reactions.Of course a team like Ghana who has been in 1/8 of World Cup would be a disaster result for them to drew against that team that I first learn about them now and I have been betting a lot of years in sport betting.I can also understand the rage of the fans and I would also be that mad for such a team to have such results. Now of course the rage should be contained and not be transmitted like in the first loss toward their manager like it happened with that aggression toward him which luckily was contained.I don't think the reactions should be like that, they should protest in the training,in Ghana football federation and in all related instances, that is is a civil protest which I would agree with.

Why on Earth will someone put football into his heart or even fan a club whole heartedly without him knowing his limits, like what I does is that I don't give much attention to a particular team or club side because I know that they must one day come to fall you and if you don't have to control your emotion you would end up having enough enemy around you since you can't control your feelings. I just naturally love football but not to an extent I wouldn't mind my limits on how to start speaking against whomever be it the coach or any player because I know too well that is just a game that must be won by one team among the two that is playing the match and until this person come to realized that football is a game of fun he would keep having enemy around him and causing problems over every single moment they keeps playing against him.

This happens to every sport when a fan isn't happy with the results, they show disrespect to the officials, coaching staff, athletes and even their co-fans.

When you're too passionate about the sport but you have forgotten your manners. You should set aside the emotion when you are disappointed so that this won't happen at most times.

But even if we'll give some reminders, this can't be stopped from happening.

It's a sport. Every fan is passionate about it. If you are a fan you will also be outraged by the result. If they are angry even without money lost, how much angrier could a fan be if he lost money?

Just like politics, some people argue for the rest of their lives believing what they believe, sometimes it becomes the start of a brawl because emotions are just hard to stop, and when they are in a situation, it just going to bo unstoppable.

The incident that occurred in the Ghana squad of course cannot be linked to gambling It cannot be denied that losing soccer betting can increase emotions, but I think the anger of Ghana fans cannot be separated from the feeling of disappointment they felt after being eliminated early from the African Cup, which is something that It's natural for fans to be disappointed, but I think the fans actions were too excessive by insulting their national team, even after the defeat, Ghanaian fans terrorized and hit their coach who was returning to the hotel and fortunately the Ghana coach was able to be saved, the actions taken by Ghana fans went beyond limit and in fact this will only be detrimental to their own national team in the future.

Football will always provide quite high emotional level for fan when watching their proud team compete and if they lose, of course the emotions will get worse and there are many cases where football fans do stupid things that are very detrimental.
But if we as gamblers are also fans of football team then we have to be able to control everything so that when we bet emotionally it doesn't make us do bad things or be careless which might be very detrimental.
A gambler usually in sports betting will feel emotions that make them bet more recklessly such as risking more money when the team they are proud of has match that will take place.
And when we watch it live in stadium or via streaming broadcasts, we also have to have attitudes and ethics that can really maintain mutual respect for each other.
Don't let us say bad words towards the coach or players on the team that made us could not have the results as expected.
In football match, no one knows how the result will happen and we must be able to accept all results even though it will make us feel disappointed.

Actually that's very common in the game of soccer because people always tend to behave a certain way if the match is not really going on there favour, so actually I'm not disputing the fact that what the guy did was good but however he may be feeling so disappointed because he has so much hope on the team but it happens that there poor performance made them to draw the match or it could be that since from history of football Ghana has been more good in times of performance than the Mozambique team so the guy felt Ghana could easily win the match so he had to stake the match with a lot of money so seeing that Ghana was not able to win the match he became furious on the coach so that's just my perception on the whole thing.

Some of them are not gamblers, but true patriotic supporters of their national side, they feel very disappointed when they have spent money to travel the distance, paid for flight, made hotel reservations, and then see their team loose at the group stage. Ghana is one of the very big teams when it comes to football in Africa and to the supporters of the national side for their team to lose at this early stage is nothing but unacceptable and a failure. Emotions should be controlled in any sports that you support, and you should know how to handle failure as a matured person. The action of these supporters is not good, shows their immaturity.

A good football lover would know that emotion is always attached when your team loses hence the Ghanian fans were crying and moreover the nature with which the goal was equalized is very unfortunate for the black stars of Ghana because they were leading Mozambique by 2:0 only to get to the die minutes of 90+1 and 90+4 and the goals were levelled so no football lover would be happy at that material time so it normal in football for fans to get emotional when their teams couldn't go any further in a competition.

Ghana not winning any match in the group stages of the AFCON is unfortunate but however the AFCON competition this year is really a tough one as bigger countries ain't finding it easy at all. I just pitied Jordan Ayew who scored a brace for Ghana with the hope that they gonna qualify for the next round only for him to watch his efforts being wasted due to poor defense by the Ghanian defenders. One thing in football is to score goals and the other is to defend the goals scored so the Ghanian side were able to score but couldn't defend their goals and their carelessness sent them out of the AFCON competition.

In fact, football cannot be predicted easily, even though we feel confident that the opponent we think is weak turns out to provide another surprise, so in my opinion this often happens where fans are too excessive in wanting perfect results, even though all football teams Those who are supported have of course played optimally too, so that the results are not satisfactory does not mean that you have to say inappropriate words to the team or coach who have worked hard to give their best performance.

I'm sure that if fans and the press team were asked to become players they wouldn't be able to do it, getting perfect results in football is not as easy as playing football games on PS5 which can be played easily, whatever the result, you should still support and encourage because of football It doesn't always have to be a win, just look at the strongest team we have seen so far, they have even experienced defeats with lower level teams, so never make it a failure, after all there is still plenty of time to correct mistakes, all fans must be mature in accepting match results.  Grin

The need to control your emotions as a football fan.
Emotions in the world of football often happen, it's a common thing felt by them, especially fans, gamblers and so on, Saying dirty words when the club they love and are betting on loses has become a frequent occurrence to the level of murder in some cases, this happens because of disappointment and spontaneously occurs on the field.

Such as the example of what happened to soccer coach Ed Thomas and also other cases that happened to El Salvador national team players and Honduras national team players who ended up dying because they were shot and many other cases, This all shows that football is indeed a sport that is very emotional and sensitive for many people, it comes spontaneously, even though they have controlled their emotions well.

What's more, most of their fans are very fanatical, no matter how good they are at controlling their emotions, their actions and words can come suddenly because they are too fanatical.

One of the pillars for a profitable bettor is emotional control, so, in fact, it is impossible to achieve good results if the person cannot control themselves. In addition to benefits from the technical aspect of finding good opportunities and managing your bankroll well, a person who can control their emotions can stay on track and also think about the long term.

This case that you mentioned is a typical example of severe emotional loss, as we know that every team, no matter how favorite it may be, will always have its moment of defeat, even against the odds, or else it will go through a bad phase and be disqualified from a championship.

Lack of control is something normal in our nature, as human beings, we will hardly have the ability to neutralize our emotions but we can and should know how to deal with them, knowing how to deal with this will benefit you greatly in gambling, preventing you from making common mistakes such as overdoing it. in the amount used in your bets or despair when dealing with a bad run. More than that, those who practice emotional control will also have advantages in their personal relationships, in their work (if they do not make a living exclusively from sports trading) or even in simple day-to-day decisions.

As a gamblers, one can not be getting one particular results all the time but the important part is that a gamblers should not aways get angry when the ending result of his prediction did not work out well for him or her.
However, no one knows if the person has staked all his money in the game thinking that the Ghanaian football club will win mozambique but the game ended up the other way round.
Moreover, this is why it is not good for one to put his or her hope in a bet because anything can happen, you know what? Sometimes when we bet on a team and they ended up losing, we just have to tell them well done even when they did not play well just so we can motivate them and besides they have also do well by losing to make others who bet on them to lose.

There have always been some idiots and they will remain in the future as well. I am not a football fan. Cricket is the most favorite game in Asian countries like Bangladesh, Pakistan, India, Sri Lanka, and Afghanistan. I guess Indians are the most stupid and crazy fans. I remember when India lost the World Cup final and what happened there. Indian cricket fans started breaking their Televisions in their home and started slanging players and used very very words.

After the ODI World cup final, Indian fans threaten Glenn maxwell's wife and they wanted to rape her. There are many more cases like that where Indian fans reacted like that. Sometimes the team that is more favored can also not live up to expectations. There are many factors that make our analysis not match predictions.
If you pay attention to the Girona vs Almeria match, it also ended in a 0-0 draw. What many gamblers don't accept is that currently Girona is at the top of the standings and Almeria is at the bottom of the standings. and a draw sounds very unlikely. but that's betting, that's the game.

You have spoken well. In as much football is a game of passion by Arsene Wenger. Fans should be able to control themselves emotionally especially when they are giving the opportunities to express themselves in any interview or conference. To be a football player is not easy and to be a coach still needs much of skills and intelligences. So, i don't know why a fan would come out from nowhere and start abusing his team for not winning a game. One thing we should understand again about African football competitions is that it involves a game of strength which is very difficult. And a fan should not underestimate any team they meet in any African competition because countries they feel are do not have much of experience in football generally may have good players better than the other teams that have had good experience like participating in the world cup several times.

From the look of expression that pressman must have spoken out of emotional displeasure but that's not an excuse as he has acted unprofessional and IMO the Ghanaian football federation and FIFA should without the waste of time serve him the necessary sanctions befitting of such unprofessionalism.

I suspect he must have played a bet behind the scene in favour of his home country to win the game matching the football strength of Ghana against that of Mozambique it is possible to have played his way but utterly gambling is just unpredictable and not an outcome you have control of. That's why whatever results we get despite what our expectations might have been let just accept it in good faith and move on.
