The Avalon unit has an ethernet jack, that you connect to the internet with. Then you need to remote into the unit (either thru a web portal or thru ssh) and configure the miner. It uses a modified version of CGMiner 2.10.4, so if you're familiar with that, it should be piece of cake. After the initial setup, it will automatically connect and start mining.
When someone receives one of these devices, do you need to program it or custom make it? Or can I just run a miner program and join a pool like most people do?
