Instead of our leaders to fulfill and keep to their promises wey dem  be promise Nigerians rather dem com  dey bring new national anthem for us to recite. Make person help me tell president Bola Tinubu and his rubber stamped Senate president Senator God'swill Akpabio say no be new national anthem we dey expect from them, make them try look into the issues of insecurity inside the country especially in the north, high inflation on food commodities and continuous devaluation of the naira and many more important issues that need to be address.we no vote them into power for them to dey force us to recite the new national anthem rather we vote them into power  to make life more easier for us and not to make it harder and more difficult.

I think all of us are affected by this change of national anthem, no particular group is to be affected by it separately than the other. Both the old, the young, are affected by it cos you no expect as peso don grow reach to start to the learn new national anthem wey be sae there are many pressing needs on how person go take survive with em families for this country wey be sae the cost of living d on the rise regularly.

The only people wey I no sae this new national anthem go d relevant to na the upcoming generation, which I believe sae before then, the elected government as of that time go fit the reason on how them go change the national anthem to its former national anthem written by Nigerians, not by a Britain lady. We are not ruled by our colonial masters. Having our national anthem written by them means that we are still been ruled by them after being an independent nation. It's a shame

Everyone is disappointed and would be affected by the sudden change if the Nigerian anthem, and our old anthem seems to portray a better Nigeria than this, to me it's not even worth it, anyway I think for the military is a necessity to know the anthem although it may take a few weeks to get used to it and make it normal, and teachers also might not habe much Problem with it except there are old. But normal civilians that don't have much need of it might find it hard to adjust.

E go take long time before many people go sabi this National anthem, people wey go sabi am fast na primary and secondary school children wey be say dey still dey school and dey go dey singer am every day, almost all the tertiary institutions students will find it difficult because say dey only hear am once in four or five years, that is during their matriculation and convocation, that why e go dey difficult to sing. I can even swear that those so called law maker only few can sing it and they went ahead approving it.

Leadership no dey easy but this administration never dey well, one year in office and we never see any positive changes compared to past administration but still I will continue to pray for them to do better,

I totally agree with you,  as you talk, na only primary and secondary school students go fit just learn the new anthem wey be say before they go even dey used to am, school go close, still resume again before they go even start to they know am self

Funny enough those law makers no even sabi sing the old anthem, na this new one, them go sabi? Them just dey, dey won just stress our head, for head wey dey think about how e go dey better for us and how we go see food chop, to come dey learn another national anthem, them no even get conscience but God dey for us, no matter how long e go take, we go just survive and as for the new anthem, na slow and steady dem dey win race, so no matter how long e take us, we go still sabi am because no get choice.

I would have Said despite been a citizen that the national anthem don't concern me but for the sake of some children which most time seek person attention for assignment or help may in one way or the other ask if one can sing for them learn it.
But for me this issue if changing national anthem I don't know the area it has any effect of solving the challenge facing Nigeria economy and unemployment and food cost that is ravaging the people not to even talk if insecurities that seems to have even conquered our government.

This say that goes when a purpose of a thing is not know abuse is inevitable is not far from our leaders today because most of the policy and laws had nothing to help the citizens they government indirectly abusing the seat  of office to which they occupied, how can a country of this age above 60 year if been independent been passing bill for abound anthem give by their colonial Master it's extremely laughable.

Many eyebrows have been raised since the new president of our beloved country and fatherland (NIGERIA) Bola Ahmed Tinubu took over from Muhammadu Buhari.
Many up till date still have doubt if the current president is leading us to success or we are going backwards currently no one can describe what we all are facing right now but all still hoping there will be better days ahead and hope for the future.

It's been a year now since our acting president sat on as the leader and father of the masses and front man of the nation and there have been alot of controversies all these while from price of petroleum to industrial products and to farm produce everything seems like we are in the worst days of our living, what is the work of a leader to make sure the masses who have elected him are always singing of his praise but that's not happening it now looks like we are used to taking things how they are.

Currently the president has signed into constitution a change of the national anthem, how this thing take concern wetin dey happen for this country person wey Neva chop dey sing?

OP the president is not on acting capacity, he is our actual president who was voted for into power by the majority of Nigerians as required by the countries constitution. However let's go to the crux of the matter.
Like the president said the other day, The old or new old national anthem was his personal priority, not that the majority of Nigerians wanted it, that was why the senate gave a speedy passage. In answering your question, nobody will be affected, everybody will just adjust to the new reality and start learning how to sing it, give a year or two, pupils in our various schools will start singing it very well.

As it is now, even the so called senators that passed the bill into law before the President approved the new national anthem won’t learn how to sing it. I am just amazed by the force power used into processing this into law sharply, it was very fast and apt. This is what we expect from them when serious cases that will affect the people is being brought forth to them to check and pass bill to effect that easily, but they won’t and will remain on the matter for long or will only do if that will benefit them financially. I don’t think the government doesn’t know what they’re doing, maybe they’re showing to us what they can do and undo within short time they intend to do it. I haven’t even read the full lyrics of the anthem, I just hope it’ll be worth the effort they put into passing it fast.

My brother, this matter follow tire me. Of all the absurd ideas any leader fit bring up, this one nah carry first. We get so many things wey dey bother us for the nation; devaluation of the naira, insecurity, corruption just to name a few and of all things him see to sign into constitution nah to bring back the old anthem? Say the one we dey use before don tire or wetin?
Truly, when a leader lack direction and purpose, nah so so offside things him go dey put for front and nah wetin we presido dey do now.
If you ask who e go affect now, everyone go dey affected but no go fit do anything about am.

Honestly I just felt like the president did not know what he should do to mark his one year in office hence the idea of coming up with the new national anthem. I think there's been a concensus agreement between virtually all Nigerians analysing the issue of the new national anthem as out of point at this critical time of the nation when the nation is almost at its bear trying to survive and people are hungry and yearning for security of health, lives and property.

Is it supposed to be a thing of pride if the president used his one year celebration to visit some of the top IDP camps in the country. That will be better than gathering the National Assembly for the launch of the national anthem which really has no direct impact to the lives of the people at this point when inflation has already eaten up our nation and the saga around the minimum wage. What if the president have used his one year in office to implement a good salary and wages structure for the labour force as a way of salvaging the welfare issue they are clamoring for.

waiting me I know be say our president no really know waiting we need right now, him he know say this national anthem no be the major problem way Nigeria they talk about. How you go just wake up one morning waiting come up from your mind at of all things way we need na national anthem, but wait ohh since then born me I never one day hear say the USA or UK them done decides to change their national anthem. If them done change am abeg make somebody update me abeg, because all this story dey tire me now see how some states done scatter finish cause of the leaders way them get. But i think say maybe he get plans towards something about the anthem, and if e no get plans that means all this our leaders then just they there they use our heads. One thing never change for this our country na only national anthem dey change always. Okay see our our own products way we ourselves dey produce garri, how much be a bag of garri for your state and rice? Them no see all this one change na national anthem hmm.

I was watching Tinubu make announcements concerning the new national anthem, I felt bad  about it but when I heard him speak I understood he was right to an extent by saying that if we say that the old anthem is from the British then why do we keep answering Nigeria? perhaps it's obvious that we were colonized so it's better we stick to it and build something useful out of it which I see as a good idea but my question was, is this the actual time to take such actions ? we have a lot of problems banging on the doors of the country but you chose to face the unnecessary issues.

personally the house of assembly, Green house, Red house or whatever they call them, we need to abolish that institution because they are very useless.

I think that reversing our national anthem to the old one is a misplaced priority at this present time in our economy, when there is hunger in the land, insecurity, naira devaluation, lack of basic amenities, dilapidated infrastructures and the rest , what our government was quick to pass is national anthem reversal. How does this national anthem help our dying economy? Infact I was very disappointed when I heard the news, and it goes to show that our government doesn't know the needs of the common man on the street, otherwise they would have tackled the pressing issues that is affecting the majority of Nigerians. If we have a proactive government, they should be tackling first things first, not things that will not change our lives for the better.

This matter really tire me too, and some people no dey even reason the matter, some dey say e concern the president, and e dey very funny the way our president just act, among all the problems wey dey for this country, na to change the national anthem, na e know say e go do, na one na to create history or wetin? But if e reason na to create history, e for do one of those things wey people dey complain about, e go see say we no go dey ever forget am, because e don solve of our problems but instead na to change the national anthem na e sabi, who national anthem go help, we dey think how e go dey well for us and how we go carry make money, na to dey sing the new national anthem, it's very clear to us, say our president no dey reason our matter, so everybody dey on his own, anyone we survive no concern the president but ourselves.
The sad part be say e don bring up this new rule but if you check am, him no fit recite am. Which kind diversionary tactic be dis? Why be say we leaders prefer to exhaust their energy on things wey no matter because I sure say our contri for don go far if say them put their focus on beta things than dis obvious waste of time them dey do here.
Woth leaders wey get this kind myopic mentality, why we no go dey always dey in debt to other nations when the only thing them dey good at nah setting the contri backward. Sometimes, I dey feel say these things wey dey happen nah deliberate act to keep on enslaving the masses because the next tin you go hear nah "if you can't recite the new anthem, you would be deprived of this or that".

Well, new matter don land again as our own president say the main problem of this contri na to bring wetin some of us no know about and I believe say many of us never hear this anthem before for anywhere, my brother I feel for the teachers, student military piple, even footballers (as you talk), we go see as the footballers go carry am go the world (during any game) take disgrace the contri name. Like this I believe say some top countries them go dey laugh us say we never solve half of our problem na to bring back old anthem.
This change of anthem go be like joke until one day our presido go wake up again say if you no sabi sing am you no go fit withdraw moni becos you must sing am for the ATM before you take your money. Like this make we expect the unexpected every year from our number oga for this contri.
