In your opinion to reach the junior member, we must have 60 activities. It does not seem to be much, and the intention of the administrator to downgrade a Jr.member without merit from a junior member down to a newbie will not be valid. It only takes a bit more time to do 60 full posts for 60 activities. I think to get the base and fair for everyone then newbie get 200 active to become Jr. Member is fit

A chance of implementation of getting more merits to increase the rank to Jr. Member may come up because generating of even one is for sure low, that multi account may find it not so worst for them. Hoping theymos has come up with that possibility and as well as on merit selling.

What do you think if our forums require 60 post to reach Jr. Member rank? I think we can see tons of spam comments on our forums. So I think your first opinion seems reasonable, just the rank member above are able to wear a signature.
Today I've seen a user with 1000 posts and 0 merits complaining about not getting any. Do you really think 60 posts is what is enough to filter the spammers out of the forum? Are you out of your mind? Those people already spam 10 bounty reports a day. Merit is exactly what we need to make their accounts useless so they can leave the forum.

PPS:  Here are the instructions that I was given by theymos this morning. I thought that I was doing my delegated duty. Now I get accused of doing something bad. Whatever.
The problem is that you gave merit to at least 2 users (that I've seen) which obviously don't even deserve to be in this forum. I'd be more careful before handling merits to those spammers. All they want right now is the 1 precious merit required to keep doing their shitbounties and spam the forum.

You really serious, now I have a little merit I will give it to the most worthy, is you

I dare not say how high the quality of my post is, but I think that compared to sue1710, my post is at least a serious discussion with others, but I have no one merit (just our local moderator gave me 1), this is hard to convince me, no offense, I think most of the newbies who are trying to improve the quality of the article in order to get Merit will think so.

In response to the new policy, theymos has also increased the number of merit sources and also increased the amount of smerits at least some of the merit sources can give. They should be a little easier to get now.

I will try to be more selective. However, I am not getting paid for this service of doling out merits. I really don't think it should be expected of me to sift through a person's whole post history to hand out 1 measly merit. I either like the post that I am currently reading or I don't

Hey look, I wake up this morning and received a whole bunch of additional smertits to dole out. So, I got a little generous on that thread. When I was used to only getting 50 to dole out a month and now I have 250, I'm encouraged to be a little less stingy.
PS: I will ignore any PMs sent to me from newbie accounts begging for their one smerit.

PPS;  Here are the instructions that I was given by theymos this morning. I thought that I was doing my delegated duty. Now I get accused of doing something bad. Whatever.

You are now a merit source, or if you were already a merit source, your monthly source merit was increased.

I recommend:
 - If a newbie posts something that could be even called good, then give them 1 merit. It doesn't need to be a great post.
 - It's best to use all of your source merit. If you don't naturally do so, try giving people more merit per post on average. If you don't send your source merit, then nobody gets it, but if you do send it, then the recipient can pass half of it on.

Thanks!

I also saw this thread just now. All three accounts got the sMerit sent by bones261, but their post I think is not worth it, especially sue1710, all the posting records are composed of some links.

On the first day of the new rule, such an obvious abuse of merits occurred. Should DT members take a look here?

Sorry, that I didn't take the time to review each and every person's post history before I decide to give out the merit.

PS: I will ignore any PMs sent to me from newbie accounts begging for their one smerit. I really don't have enough time in the day to be the Mother Teresa of Merit granters.

Currently, the Beginners & Help is a lot of newbie posts so much about rank. With the new policy, I think it can not solve the problem of spam signatures spam, because the new members can be senior members rewarded, because of poorly felt for the newbie
For me to improve the bounty signature spam, the management needs a different policy like
- Rank member or fullmember, to be able to wear a signature
- Increase activity from 30 to 60 to be promoted to Jr
This can help new members need a patience in order to be able to spam the signature
