Although I already have a thread on the list, I think this thread I started "The used of Bitcoin in Africa"  is quite a decent one and my favorite. It gives me joy each time I re-read the thread knowing the citizens of african countries have gone a long way in embracing bitcoin. Although it's on bitcoin discussion board, I still try my best to keep thread spam free as I report any worthless replies (earning me 20+ good reports).

Wall Observer's a bit fighty I'd've thought.

One of the most relaxing threads was https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/lets-talk-about-how-hot-asian-girls-are-nsfw-105136  Let's talk about how hot Asian girls are. [NSFW]
There wasn't that much disagreement and lots of evidence was provided.
Sadly it was closed because it was something of a drain on resources probably.

My personal favourite thread in the forum - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=178336.461840
**Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion**

Regular posters there discuss the price movements, predictions, a bit of TA - Chart Analysis, lots of off topic & a generally friendly environment. There are a couple of trolls who drop by & everybody enjoys tearing them to pieces.

Drop by & check it out gentlemen.

Yes, but xhomerx10 made me a new hat, yesterday, and someone pushed ahead of me in line and swiped it.  Angry What sucks is that there are plenty to go around.

Edit: It appears the thief was persuaded to stop wearing my hat.  Smiley

Maybe include the threads of those who got promoted to high ranks by starting out as Newbies or Jr's.

Haven't you notice Jet cash isn't much interesting in discussing merit related stuff unless he's starting a merit contest. Him adding those type of thread will just turn this thread into another merit discussion spam.

Thanks jet cash for finding my post somehow useful, it was just me sharing my frustration on how been an adult, it's just too stressful.

I understand that you are fed up with the community crap and you want to direct forum users to some 'good to read' threads.
But how many such threads are you going to add up in the post. At some point it will stop and this thread will be lost somewhere in the vast ocean of threads like any other thread.
So, what is the point of doing this ? Not that I am against it or something but you could do a better thing instead.

You could find out threads that are valuable to the crypto community and to the forum and list them in your thread saying that these are the threads which I think are valuable and should be merited.
Anybody who thinks it should be merited will do it and others will at least get knowledge from those threads.

I am guessing your glass remains ½ empty.

maybe not after reading this post you made below

Well, according to that logic why do anything at all?  I find a lot of the stupid threads and nonstop drama to be tedious, but just because a thread is eventually going to die out--which most of them that aren't the Wall Observer thread--that doesn't mean they shouldn't be created in the first place.

That said, for the life of me I cannot think of a warm & fluffy thread aside from Jet Cash's own coffee lounge one, and especially not a recent thread that fits the bill.  Lately there's been a lot of trolling and repetition of arguments that never fail to fall upon deaf ears.  You know what I'm talking about, too.  The only thread I can think of that's just a little bit light-hearted is the "posts so bad, they're good" one.

This tends to be a forum for money-hungry people, and in addition there are all sorts of different people and cultures represented, so it sort of makes sense that there aren't many threads with people just talking about "nice" stuff.  On top of that, we all know how many members are just here to earn money from sig campaigns and you know damn well that they just want to crank out whatever the maximum number of posts is for the week (and usually in a language they don't fully understand how to use) so they can go about their business in real life.  Even if you had a thread that had a tone of positivity, it would probably get ruined by sig spammers in no time.  Anyway, give Jet Cash a break.  He's trying to call attention to whatever the feel-good aspects of the forum are.  Good luck, JC.

I wish I would had this point of view while making the post. Thanks for changing my mind (merited for the same Wink ). Keep up with the good work JC.

Thanks for the responses guys. I probably started the thread because I've been reading too many political topics, and only the bad stuff is reported. For example, who has heard of the fact that between 2005 and 2009 the socialist government of Venezuela gave $500 million in aid to help poor Americans with their heating bills. The other thing is that many "discussions" here seem to degenerate into personal abuse, and I think this is an indication of a lost argument, or the inability of the poster to communicate. However, the personal abuse does tend to spoil the flavour of the forum.

Anyone can be touched by your communication, not looking at work or profession.
Emotions cannot guide a person to a positive thought or action, so calm self. When we hate someone, we are making life more complicated, we all must have been wrong, but there is a big difference between the wrong for us adults and the wrong one we do.
Don't be sad when doing wrong. Because have we learned a lot of mistakes, because of our mistakes being smart, Adult does not always require us to change, but good change always requires us to be more mature.
Those who hate us only prove that our lives are better than them. Don't mind them, keep on going.
Life is like a drama, and we can choose to be the audience or the player.

I'm a bit fed up with all the whingeing, bitching and fighting that seems to be going on at the moment, so I thought I would start a thread listing the topics that I think are relaxing and pleasant. I've started this thread in Meta to give it some initial attention, but I have no objection to it being moved if a mod thinks it should live on another board, hopefully it won't be deleted though. So which topics should be included?

Enlightened self-interest means that I should start with my own coffee lounge thread -
 https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/the-jet-cash-coffee-lounge-thread-5106333

Another thread is by CryptopreneurBrainboss, and it is also in the Ivory Tower. In it he discusses the transition from adolescence to adulthood
https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/adulthood-is-a-scam-wish-i-could-stay-young-forever-5119113

I'm only just starting this morning, and I'll add some more as I find them. Fell free to add your own gentle and relaxing threads as you enjoy them.
