The Past

On June 22th 2018, NeoWorld released the Genesis version, which is the first sandbox game with the token economy. In the beginning, the NeoWorld team invited more than 1,000 experienced blockchain players from Blockchain TOP Players Club to conduct the alpha test. The cooperation with the club was a great success. These players gave confidence to the NeoWorld team and new players. It was surprising that the Genesis Gift Pack was sold out soon. Players were crazy on the Genesis Gift Pack.

Starting from 1,000 players in June 2018, NeoWorld had the highest number of 50,000 players in October 2018 with 20,000 daily active users. Therefore, NeoWorld is the leader in blockchain in terms of the retention or the number of players. There are even over 4,000 players online at the same time when it came to the Great Wall Wonder Competition. Since NeoWorld is quite addictive for its virtual world feature, “寂寞火山”(Hanson)have spent more than 300,000 RMB and others stay up late with great passion on the game. It was a special treat for all our ordinary players.

In the virtual world created by NeoWorld, players explore new frontiers, create skylines, pursue careers and build wealth. Players create value and gain benefits. Just like the traditional economy, NeoWorld has the virtual currency NASH with a total amount of 100 billion. Initially, players can only get NASH from Genesis Gift Pack and the currency at that time is about 0.001 RMB per NASH. After the launch of NeoWorld, players can earn NASH through simulation of jobs in the game. The four factors of production (land, labor, capital, and enterprise) play an important role in the game since players earn NASH from being a landlord, a merchant, a blue-collar worker, a reseller and so on. The currency of NASH varies from 0.0005 RMB to 0.006 RMB and it now fluctuates around 0.002 RMB. In NeoWorld, players spend virtual capital or time to earn NASH, which creates values in the end.

The Present

In the past eleven months, Nash has experienced the peak (0.006 RMB) and the bottom (0.0005 RMB) and now is back the normal price. There are plenty of copycats after NeoWorld has created the new plays of token economy, but they hardly survive in the blockchain space. It also suggests that NeoWorld has enormous vitality.

The game has evolved from the Bronze Age to the Sliver Age where all kinds of experts and professional UGC designers can create their own works and earn much more value in the virtual world, and perhaps it will overweigh the earnings in real world. In May, 2019, NeoWorld Ecosystem Construction Committee has founded after the election of community members. Besides, the Chinese Ambassador is also announced to the public. These two episodes indicates the community autonomy has opened a new chapter. NeoWorld Ecosystem Construction Committee holds 600 million Nash for incentivizing contributors in writing articles, making videos, creating tools and etc..

There are already five continents and three islands in the game. Mainland is determined by market and all rules automatically works when it reaches certain criteria. While the islands are selected by the team and the cooperation with top public blockchain projects will suffice, NeoLand, EOS Lambda, OntLand, and the coming IOSTLand and HPBLand.

In May, 2019, NeoWorld has closed first round of institutional fundrasing, valuing the project at tens of millions of US dollars. The new funds will be used to accelerate NeoWorld’s continued efforts in building its virtual world, User-Generated-Content initiatives, and global expansion and VR versions.

The Prospect

For the prospect of NeoWorld, There are a thousand Hamlets in a thousand people’s eyes. I believe NeoWorld’s future is the starry sea.

The goal of the project is to implement UGC related modules in the Silver Age. Players can create various art materials, and can also create embedded games, shopping malls, live rooms and other applications.
In the Golden Age, NeoWorld will open source and open the API interface. Players will be able to create a variety of content, applications, and applets on the land, while implementing community elections and governance mechanisms in the virtual world. The operation of the community is determined by the player’s vote. In principle, players can collectively determine all the content and rules of the virtual world.
NeoWorld is a sandbox game with high degree of freedom. It also have borderless expansion features, which is similar to “Minecraft” or “Second Life” .

Conclusion

The history of the game is a history of revolution. At first we need to pay to play (such as World of Warcraft), the second generation of games is free to play (such as the legendary private service), and I believe that the third generation of games is to play to earn (such as NeoWorld).

Every era has a legendary masterpiece, and it is my conviction that NeoWorld is promising, and I hope we won’t miss this great opportunity and the final focus is : playing games equals making money!
