Actually, I would appreciate it if sane people would stay ;-) ... this forum is linked directly from bitcoin.org - if we make this a ghetto by leaving, anybody googling Bitcoin, checking out bitcoin.org and landing in the forum will get the impression that Bitcoins just about daytrading, drugs and hating government and banks. That would be very harmful to Bitcoin.

ATM, I think there's still enough reasonable people posting on the forums that the forum can be considered a valuable asset for Bitcoin.

Unfortunately it is outweighed by the image of these forums as being "official" bitcoin opinion, which quickly gives reporters the idea that we're all a bunch of crazy 4chan kids.

I would rather rename the forums to bitcointalk.org or somesuch.

Live and Let Live
There are a lot of people working in the background on getting businesses to accept bitcoin.

Unfortunately, this forum is now a ghetto overflowing with trolls, image spam, 4chan'ers...  it has chased most "business types" away from the forums.  A lot of us now just trade emails, to get things done.

Twitter is where all the action is at.

What's Your Gig?
I agree. It seems like it has gotten crowded here. If anyone knows, of a place where people are discussing growth initiatives, let me know.

Do your part for Bitcoin!
I'm sure mods are trying but I think there needs to be more moderation. To keep people from being immature and starting flame wars.

Please take me with you! I'm new but I've been trying to be the voice of reason in topics in this flame storm.

Jeff by the way great job with the interview. I appreciate what those people in the background are doing.

Do your part for Bitcoin!
With the recent hype of Bitcoin over the SilkRoad fiasco and Senator Schumer and pals. I feel that we going away from actual growth discussion. A week ago most posts were about "debate the economics of bitcoin", "getting businesses to adopt bitcoin", and "Stories of people getting their grandmother and dog introduced into bitcoin".

The hype has increased the value of the Bitcoin but I think it has shifted actual infrastructural growth from what I said above to a lot speculation and day trading.
