Please feel free to comment below on whether you, the community, are happy with the idea of a (mainly) Titan Bitcoin Raffle, or whether you would prefer to stick to tradition and go with BTCC Products.
Personally, I cannot see the downsides from having a Titan BTC pair as the main prize of the raffle. They are trusted, made out of precious metals, have a large premium and are loaded. BTCC, while still a great company and would be a great addition as add-on or runner up prizes, cannot boast such. Along with FoS, I think this would be a fantastic prize pool.

2. Getting all the makers to work under a timely manner meaning they'd all ship at the same time was a huge pain in the ass. Some of the prizes were sent out just weeks ago meaning it took over 3 months for them to ship out the winnings. Gives me a bad rep as the official holder of the raffle.
3. Shipping costs went out of hand since there were so many different items to many different winners that had to be sent out, something that using one or two entities to send out winnings is a huge benefit to keep cost of tickets down.
Perhaps a middle man should be used to try and mitigate both of these issues? It would certainly make things a lot easier/cheaper for everyone should prizes only come out of one place rather than from their respective countries of origin.

Meh.
Seen the second raffle had more participants (as different users) and also had more variation of coin manufacturers I'd say add more manufacturers to make it more interesting.

While it was very fun doing that there were a couple of issues that I'll list below:

1. Fair market prices. Most makers/holders of collectibles often wanted above market price for their items thinking they'd make a quick buck using the raffle.
4. It was extremely time consuming organizing it all between 15 different holders of the coins. Keeping track of everything and making sure it went perfect. I lost sleep a lot of the nights just trying to maintain the situation, something I'd prefer not to do again.

Based on that I will not look to do another one of those raffles, sadly. Great idea but horrible experience organizing it.

So what's the word??

Raffle Rabble Raffle Rabble........ Tickets...... Prizes!!!!

Yes, I guess an update is due!

The last 2 raffles have pretty been much entirely BTCC orchestrated, with BTCC products filling the majority of prize places. This was changed a little in Raffle #2, and so we also had items from Denarium, some Casascius Coins, some Dignitas Designs Silver Bars from RMC, Bitcoin Engrave Vouchers from Darkjon, some Cryptonic Coins courtesy of Cryptonic & owlcatz, and several other things. (I am sorry if I missed any individuals here, this was not intended purposely!).

1st place in the last raffle contained a Five Bitcoin Coin in Luxury Presentation Case along with 2 other 1 BTC Coins, which suited the position perfectly considering the size of the prize pool. BTCC are now sadly out of stock when it comes to those 5 BTC coins, and along with wanting to mix things up a little so as to not be boring, or become predictable, I threw a curveball at Hhampuz and opened up the possibilities for prizes. As of now, there has been a decent amount of deliberation taking place between us as to how to proceed with this, The Raffle of All Raffles, Number 3, and this is where we currently stand:

Hhampuz has spoken to tothemoonsands of Friends of Satoshi, and it has been decided that some of the prize places will contain items supplied by FoS. These will be paid for from entry costs.

The next thing is this - I am currently trying to see if Titan Mint are interested in being represented in this latest raffle by offering a Matching Serial Number Titan Set consisting of the Stunning 1 BTC 1oz Gold, and the gorgeous 1 BTC 1oz Silver - as part as the prize for 1st place. Additionally, there will be a load of single 1 BTC 1oz Silvers being split up across the remainder of the prize places (we are looking at around 15 paying spots, but please note that not every place may contain a loaded Bitcoin). These coins would obviously be paid for with the entries fees from users entering the raffle as well.

The last time/raffle, tickets cost 0.06 BTC each, and the USD/BTC rate was obviously a lot less as well. 0.06 BTC now feels like, and is, a lot more than it was then. We are hoping to have the entry cost lower this time, but that does mean we have needed to change things around a little. No more will be said on that note for now, but note that the entry cost for entering this raffle will not be more than the previous ones, it will be less. We are trying to make it "pocket-friendly" as possible.

I do not yet have an answer from Titan Mint, so none of this is a definite, but I thought I would let the community know the rough plans as they currently stand. These are subject to change completely and it may be needed that we have to use the majority of funds for BTCC products instead.

As soon as I know - I will let you all know too Smiley

Please feel free to comment below on whether you, the community, are happy with the idea of a (mainly) Titan Bitcoin Raffle, or whether you would prefer to stick to tradition and go with BTCC Products.

This will be my final post until myself and Hhampuz have an actual plan that is achievable - but please discuss between yourselves in the meantime. Within the next few days, we should be ready to go and will create a brand new thread Smiley

Thanks,

Zeph

What about a Kialara 'To the Moon' raffle that includes a suite?

How are you planning on pricing these new Moon Bars when they have not even been released? I know the approximate figures that have been offered for Suites, but what about Sets? Single 100k Bars? Personally I would wait for secondary market sales (and to have these in our hands..) before planning something like this. We have no idea what a Set will sell for currently, just an approximate amount for Suites, which is a substantial amount of money - that much that some people will not be willing to pay the entry cost, whatever it may be.

Oh... looks like the crowd is starting to chant...........

BTCC said sales are not halted but some users are experiencing issues to add to the cart.

It is intermittent, so Tendai and team will hopefully be looking into it.

That's a strange issue to have.. Everyone I've talked with have had the same issue.

If this is only a Software error BTCC should have notice the drop in sales, don't they?

Who really knows. I also feel that they should have let people know about any issues, especially if it's a basically a halt in sales. The thing is that with all of the pboc stuff and the endless redeeming of Btcc coins this could honestly be them doing it all. Perhaps they have met some difficulties with government etc and don't want to drop face. As we all know they have not been the most communicative company towards us from the west.

Not saying there's a reason to doubt them but I'm starting to see some red flags.

Wow you're not wrong! About 50% of those 5BTC coins have been redeemed. That's crazy! I guess the PBOC haven't closed this loophole yet, it's one of the only ways they can get BTC out. I wonder what this will mean for the remaining HODLers of the coins.

Well, strange thing why do the 5btc get redeemed not the full btc Blocks or the 1btc coins? 5 btc coins have a 1 btc premium on them AT full price.

I guess someone bought a shitload of them at a special price. I'm pretty sure it's the same guy because when I clicked around through the explorer, there was a barrage of 4.9999BTC redemptions to the same address.

It's quite unbelievable, from around 5% to 50% in the blink of an eye!

2016 Titanium V Series, Five Bitcoin
   Unredeemed: 262 (52.4%)
   Redeemed:   238 (47.6%)
   Total:      500

A whale has used this method to get 1,000BTC out of BTCC, circumventing the PBOC rules. Pretty cool.

Do your coins come loaded?

Thanks.

I'm new to the raffle thing, I did vote "yes", and I'm curious what types of products you'd be raffling. Can you share details on some of your past raffles?

Thanks.

Here are the previous two raffles.

[The Raffle of All Raffles] 1X5BTC+4x1BTC Coins from BTCC - 448362!

[The Raffle of All Raffles II] Coinmakers Unite, BTCC Backed. 17BTC+ ROLLING!

That is correct.

Right now we have 20 votes for "Yes." so it does seem likely that we will try and make this happen in the near future.

All Btcc coins in previous raffles were loaded yes.

And yeah it does seem like Btcc have halted all sales of physicals. But I do have a backup plan in place. A kialara raffle sounds very possible right now. Including a special surprise Wink.

Mega Raffle Number 3, eh Hhampuz? Grin

I'm game. Will PM you later for some more details, and if you need any help you only have to ask Smiley

As for BTCC, it does indeed seem that sales are on hold, I am unable to order anything either... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I was under the impression that they are still selling. As apparently Chinese bitcoiners have been purchasing their coins for the purpose of redeeming them.. I've also been talking frequently with Tendai about this raffle in particular and he has given me no indication of their products being on hold. Although when you say this I see that it's not possible to put their products in my cart at their store. So I'l have to try and get a hold of him again to figure this one out.

Giant raffles are fun to watch, even tho I don't much participate...

My biggest gripe is the 5000 "raffleception" threads from the last two rounds. These flooded the collectibles forum and buried nearly all other offers/topics. Irritating and completely unnecessary. Please find a better way if you must do something like that again.. keep them all in one rolling thread or something.

Yeah I agree with you on the first raffle we did, as the rsffleceptions were something we figured out last minute, I do however believe that for the 2nd one it was very reasonable. As I never had more than two threads going at the same time, I archived the finished ones instantly.

I appreciate the honesty!

My biggest gripe is the 5000 "raffleception" threads from the last two rounds. These flooded the collectibles forum and buried nearly all other offers/topics. Irritating and completely unnecessary. Please find a better way if you must do something like that again.. keep them all in one rolling thread or something.

Maybe, but I have a long history of bad, BAD luck with raffles. In one of my most recent losses, I paid over $400 USD to buy TWENTY-FIVE PERCENT (25%) of all tickets on a raffle that was awarding EIGHT ( 8 ) individual prizes... and I still lost. LOL Roll Eyes

Ahh Yeah.. The fabled kialara labyrinth raffle! But fear not for it is only the raffle gods saving your luck for when you'd enter raffles like these ones.. Remember that bg4 picked up the first prize in the last one (over 7btc in value) with only two (!!) tickets Cheesy

Which reminds me, dibs on the last 2 tickets.  Sorry bg not this time

So would there be any interest?

I have a bunch of ideas to make it interesting and not just another raffle with the same old rules. There would only be BTCC prizes as I won't go through the hassle of trusting different vendors from various parts of the world.

Structure would change, prize distribution would change. Only BTCC prizes 15-25btc worth.

Let me know.
