I'm curious why anyone thinks the U.S. government does not want us to use bitcoins? Where have they said that?
I think there is not one but two or more reasons why government doesn't want us using BTC. And we can only make assumptions as they will never tell us the truth

that is so true...they want to get rid of paper money so that everything is digital then they can stop runs on banks when the shit hits the fans or they can your 25% of your savings to bail out the financial system and you wont be able to do shit about it because they will flip a switch and everyone's money will be frozen.
