The women where I live don't have a preference for circumcised penises because our culture doesn't practice, or hold beliefs about it; so that's entirely cultural.

I never thought I'd have to debate the ethics of cutting bits off babies. I've come to the conclusion that if you have to explain why this is wrong to someone, you're probably wasting your time.


To those who claim there are rational reasons, weighty enough to justify cutting off the foreskin of a child, I offer a challenge. If this is the case, you ought to be able to convince a rational adult, from a culture where circumcision is not the norm, that he should, of his own volition, have his cock chopped. I recommend choosing from a culture which is fairly neutral to the idea (i.e. only don't because they see no benefit in doing so, considering the pain and other downsides). I would say many people from europe would fit the bill.

Don't really see what a heart bypass has to do with a simple surgical procedure that was done when I was extremely young. Considering most women I've been with, and it's been a fair amount, almost all have been glad I was circumcised. Not many women, at least where I live, find an uncircumcised penis attractive.  I know many that have told be the refuse blowjobs because of it.

I've read through a bunch of the comment sin this thread and it would seem that some take the issue far too seriously.  It's foreskin.  The penis works just as good without it. If not better, since the health risks aren't there with being uncircumcised.

I don't get the debate if its right or wrong. The most disturbing thing about circumcision is that parents do it to their boys without giving them the opportunity to choose. It's not a matter of hygiene or pleasure. It's a matter of messing with the bodies of others.

 I don't see why we need to make circumcised guys feel bad like this. Maybe we should start to try to weed the practice out of society (as it is kind of odd and unnecessary unless you have religious beliefs about it), but every guy, whether circumcised or not, is normal - just different.

I don't see any difference between cut and uncut penis. And there no big deal cutting your penis, It wouldn't hurt so much that you couldn't handle It but If nature said : "I gave you a foreskin, but you can cut It If you want to". So  from these words I  would say It's everyones own choice to cut or not their foreskin. It just changes penis look a little that's all.

Can usually be avoided by simple hygiene.
Just take a shower once a day and remember to wear a condom if you have more than 1 sex partner and there's no need to cut anything.

I don't need to go to hospital. We prefer the the traditional way. I was circumcised just in my neighborhood. With just wood and knife. First the knife is inserted in the foreskin, then the wood is used to strike the foreskin until the foreskin is thoroughly cut. Then we jump into the sea so that the wound would quickly heal.

Dunno how the courting process works where you are, but in my country, single men (and sometimes married) go to bars, stand in a straight line, and swing their dicks around in circles until a woman decides they're worth mating with. Agreed.  I had a buddy years ago that had to be circumcised in his early 20's, something to do with the foreskin not stretching enough and his erection would be incredibly painful.  He went through excruciating pain after the surgery. Guy I work with had it done in his teens, very painful as well apparently 

So glad I had it done when I was a baby and can't remember it.  Then again, whats to say I didn't suffer deep mental trauma from it that hasn't gone away?

You can't 'grow' it back per se but you can stretch the skin back over time. I forget which it was but there was a documentary Richard Dawkins did and he meets a guy who stretched it back and he just whips his cock out and says 'remarkable'. Unless that was just a dream I had? 

It's actually possible to grow back your foreskin with time and the right tools.

Admittedly, it won't ever be the same as a natural one, and as with any body modification there's going to be potential risks but...hey, at least it's not gone for good
