The case of the rich man and Lazarus is prevalent in the world.the poor is neglected  because he is poor without knowing that God created them.people are suppose to look beyond appearance and  focus on  where the soul goes,be conscious of this. What you have does not difine you but your relationship with god, do the right thing and eschewed evil. Anybody who does this will have treasures in heaven.

This is pathetic. If truely she contacted covid while in the hospital. Shouldn't that be the blame of the health personels?. she deserves justice and justice her family must get. Almost her disability would have given them some human concience other than treating her like an animal seeking for where to scavenge.

What a tragic story. To be honest, how can something like that happen in a developed nation like UK? Aren't there security measures in place to talk to the family before she is taken off life support. This is insane. I really hope the family is sueing the hospital hard. The doctors and nurses taking decisions into their own hands are not acceptable.

A quite tragic story for the disabled woman who was taken off the respirator, quite a sad situation, one that the hospital be made to answer for, for not given her a fair fighting chance for her life maybe probably on the the notion that this is hinged that she is disabled.

As for the the parable of "The Rich Man and Lazarus", i think it is a parable that tries to spell out the bitter truth that sometimes the more material things you get, the more less spiritual and clingy to material things you will become and it is something to watch out for.

It is also a parable that says you shouldn't be in plenty and refuse to share or help those that are in lack.

The moral here is that you can get to heaven as long as you have an obedient camel.

I disagree. The moral of that parable is more likely to be "It is impossible for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven as it is impossible for a man to pass through the eye of a needle"   however  "for God everything is possible" so it would only be through God's grace or mercy such men enter the Kingdom of Heaven.

There is a saying that it is easierfor a camel to pass through the eye of a needle.than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven. On the face of it, this would deem to indicate an impossible task. However, the reality is somewhat different. The eye of a needle is a type of gateway, and with a bit of twisting, turning and backing, it is possible to lead a camel through it.

The moral here is that you can get to heaven as long as you have an obedient camel.

I apologise for any lack of due diligence on the matter.I was only acting on good faith and ask people to mercifully make their own decisions and conclusions based on their own findings after it being brought to their attention.

The scripture part perhaps was destined for a more appropriate thread or maybe someone can find some meaning here.I only included it as I felt compelled to at the time for some reason. No intention to offend anyone who does not engage with or entertain such matters.

Thank you.

^^^ Besides, the talk between the rich man and Abraham... between people in heaven and people in hell... wasn't something that was acknowledged to be commonplace in Jewish religion. In other words, when Jesus told that parable, He was literally telling a fictional story to show a pearl of wisdom... maybe more than one.

This means that the application of that pearl of wisdom should be applied in situations that match the parable, and that if there isn't clarity about how the situation fits the wisdom, there should be explanation.

So, thanks, franky1, that you have shown that the parable doesn't fit the real-life situation.

Cool

even a quick search shows that she has been 'claiming' to be homeless for 2 years asking for money. yet showing many pictures of having a roof over he head.

she has been claiming to be deprived of food. yet after 2 years, doesnt have the usual anorexic malnutrician look

she claims doctors took mother off respirator this week. yet there was a DNR in place

she has been constantly trying to sue/accuse/blame anyone she can for 2 years. and trying to get money at every oppertunity..

um sorry but this is not a family having bad luck. this is a oppertunist family trying to find ways to beg borrow or steal money from others using tweaked sympathetic stories.

examples are that she was offered a place to live. she refused
they offered to do a assessment of needs. she refused.
she then pretends that she is homeless and never got an assessment.

"Thanet have said they will not be helping us, they want to help Redbridge. They refuse emergency needs, refuse to do an assessment, refuse safeguarding and are trying to force a face2face knowing I hvae C-PTSD and that the police warned Redbridge off"

how can a service do an assessment if someone refuses an assessment and calls the cops on the assessor saying that the assessor is stalking them.

guess she doesnt want a house or assessment or understand how DNR works. she just wants to find/force oppertunitities to try suing as many services as she can.

this is called slapp lawsuits

i feel sympathy for anyone with an illness or dies. but to then use these incidences for financial gain is where my sympathy ends

The real life story at the bottom of this reminded me of this story in the bible for some reason and its level of destitution and despair compel me to at least mention it.I don't have any social media account so have decided to post it here. Please retweet it if you have twitter and forward it onto any relevant UK authorities who can assist or advise these people where to get help.Thank you all.

“There was a rich man who was dressed in purple and fine linen and lived in luxury every day.At his gate was laid a beggar named Lazarus, covered with sores and longing to eat what fell from the rich man’s table. Even the dogs came and licked his sores.

“The time came when the beggar died and the angels carried him to Abraham’s side. The rich man also died and was buried. In Hades, where he was in torment, he looked up and saw Abraham far away, with Lazarus by his side.So he called to him, ‘Father Abraham, have pity on me and send Lazarus to dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue, because I am in agony in this fire.’

“But Abraham replied, ‘Son, remember that in your lifetime you received your good things, while Lazarus received bad things, but now he is comforted here and you are in agony. And besides all this, between us and you a great chasm has been set in place, so that those who want to go from here to you cannot, nor can anyone cross over from there to us.’

“He answered, ‘Then I beg you, father, send Lazarus to my family, for I have five brothers. Let him warn them, so that they will not also come to this place of torment.’

“Abraham replied, ‘They have Moses and the Prophets; let them listen to them.’

“‘No, father Abraham,’ he said, ‘but if someone from the dead goes to them, they will repent.’

“He said to him, ‘If they do not listen to Moses and the Prophets, they will not be convinced even if someone rises from the dead.’”

A disabled woman contracted Covid while in hospital & was taken off a respirator apparently without her or her family's consent. Please share this far and wide, it's heartbreaking. She'd been fighting for her rights as a disabled woman for years. As far as I am aware her destitute son and daughter is fighting a campaign. Please support them by retweeting to relevant authorities or signing any petitions. Her mother who has just died had a paypal address but not sure if they have access to it.The poor woman was suffering the last few days of her life apparently from hunger and became desparate and started to beg for help. She has now now sadly passed away and may the Lord have mercy on her soul.

This is the twitter link to these people. They seem to be based in the UK.
