As someone who hooked up 5 S7 boards to one of these 9 port IO boards, it doesnt quite work right.  I did get all 5 hashing, but 1 port would not read the boards temperature and showed '0'.  The 2 out most ports dont even read anything at all, board showed up all '-----'s

my guess is if you want to monitor the other boards you need to populate the fan circuits too
with the fan connector , caps, and accompanying resistors, a closeup of a fully populated board will disclose the
values, should be the same as the two already installed

One minor cautionary note: Since the I/O board only has 3 connectors on it, there is a small chance that there could be a problem with any of the other 6. I would bet that Bitmain doesn't go to the trouble of trying to test the 6 un-populated socket positions. Hence if you solder the connectors down correctly and there is a problem with one, it's unlikely that Bitmain will send you a replacement.

While it should work, and is likely to work, don't expect a guarantee.

the IO board for my S7 just stoped running the fans luckily i turned it off before it all exploded, the whole s7 was so hot, even the case was too hot at the touch.
after closer inspection the rest of the miner seems fine and working but it just does not turn on the FANS...

I think you have to solder a few smd caps and resistors too. I have 2 of these boards coming later today and I\ll take a closer look at them. I\m pretty sure that bbb is able to re-program this io-board with right code when you flash fw.

Saw that the board came with 3 connectors with space for 6 more. Does that mean I could just solder some more sockets onto it and it'll be able to handle 9 hashboards?

Tupsu has had several boards connected to the early batch boards which came with the other receptacles and yes, they work. He also did this with the S5+ as it appears that was the first s7 boards.
Search his posts and you will probably find it fairly quick.

By the way, ignore the other reply which was oh so helpful. She wants to be a moderator so the little bitch pretends to be one. She is a very bad dog and it is best just to put little bitches on ignore unless you want to see how they reply to a newer miner. If so, unblock, read / reply as needed and plop back on ignore because there will not be anything worth reading after that one. She just gives you negative trust ratings that don't mean anything.

Good luck, and the answer is yes, you can solder more sockets and they will support more. I cannot commit to the total number, but Tupsu has posts which I believe answer that very question.

If a real moderator comes by and says something it is because the poser little bitch reported the post like she usually does. Don't ignore the real mod, but never pay attention to the lil bitches.

One would assume you could since people have been able to use the ones that did come with 9.  With them selling IO boards now I would chances are just get one of them as it's the easiest fix considering your talking about soldering sockets.

Also know if you used 9 remember you also need larger cables.  The standard cables would not be long enough to hook another S7 beside another.

These type of one liner questions should really go in the main 350 page thread, it crowds out others needlessly.
