I've been seeing bounty or signature scams for a while now. It can be accepted if it's a new member. But it's hard to believe when it's a big member. Is there no system to stop it?theymos Can't make rules?
The forum does not moderate scam or bounties. It is emphasized by rule.
19. Possible (or real) scams and Trust ratings are not moderated (to prevent moderation abuse).

The best but toughest thing that can be done by theymos is SHUT DOWN all bounties. Controversially, theymos want to keep the forum as opened as possible for all members, from all nations as well as all classes. He spent his time to upgrade the trust and feedback system with flag, trust and trust feedback from which the community can contribute, work together to reduce scam.

For example, before announcing in any bounty / signature market, you have to pay the payment from the companies. Or take part of the money. Then maybe the scam can be stopped.
It was discussed 2 or 3 years ago, and somebody suggested to restrict bounties with BTC payment only. It does not work so far.

Have it occurred to you that the scammers may actually pay the fee and this will act like some sort of endorsing from the forum side? What then?
No. And then who will spend the time to verify if this or that is scam or not? What if it becomes scam afterwards?
The current (no) handling is the way to go. Learn to be more careful and don't just jump in.

Theymos has zero obligations in doing such thing. In the first place, this forum is for Bitcoiners to communicate and talk about things, and some of us are just taking advantage of campaigns to earn money while doing what we like — talk about Bitcoin. You need to remember that Bitcointalk is mainly not a money making site.

In most cases, the community does not participate in campaigns that haven't already secured the funds or campaign managers who are well-recognized. Further, the fake campaign are easier to identify if you pay close attention.

Also, the forum has Trust ratings that are taking care of scam related campaigns. For example, any campaign of 1xbit gets bombarded with negative trust ratings.

Scammers will always be here in the forum as long as they see money here via projects campaign that arise here.
And through the campaign there is investors come up with it. And bounty campaign also is the gate way for the scammers to
get fund from the investors as well. I think only few of the project campaign are only legit here that's what I saw here.

The forum doesn't set rules like this, the community can though.

I thought the whole point of a bounty was that you get a certain % of the coin to split between the bounty applicants? This seems like it'd be really hard to enforce, bitcoin payments however, should be easy enough to deal with via an escrow.

You're dealing with anonymous entities, the onus is on you to work out whether you'll be paid or not.

You might want to move this to meta also.
