What do you mean? Altcoins are actually doing pretty good in my opinion...
Litecoin's value just trippled in less than 7 days time! It went from $100 to around $300, you call that a slump?

Just because Bitcoin is getting all of the attention due to one ATH after the other doesn't mean that you can't make a decent profit by trading altcoins.

Monero is another altcoin that has been doing really good and there are dozens more.

I filled my pockets allready with alts. Now just waiting. Wish I had more money to invest. Maybe I should sell my car or something. I read there is a dutch family who sold their house and put everything on bitcoin.

I believe it's an awesome opportunity to buy altcoins on the cheap now. Some of the coins I am looking at have dropped.

Wait as long as you can before the fork and buy altcoins.

I think all will recover and be stable again when we are done with all the forks.
It think even if all the alts perform well and their value also raise in terms of USD, it won't be much beneficial as it still be very low in terms of Bitcoin, comparing to what it was a couple of months ago.

With the rise of bitcoin price, the alts have taken a toll. With almost all alts going to their worst low values for the past few months, especially after their rise.
Even the bigger alts, that are quite high on marketcap have gone down very low.
What do you think about this phase? Will these alts ever be able to come back to their previous heights? Or is the game over for them with bitcoin price sky rocketing?

People want free coins so they want to hold a lot of BTC when the fork happens. This means that people sell alts to buy BTC, BTC price rises and alt prices fall. After the fork it is likely that people will sell BTC to buy alts, so alt prices will rise again

The current fall in alts has nothing to do with alts and everything to do with BTC.

Everybody is selling their altcoins so that they can get extra coins when Bitcoin forks. When everybody sells it drives the price of altcoins down, so they should recover to their previous state after the fork. To me, all this is a buying opportunity to buy altcoins at a much cheaper price.

Give it some time and things should revert back to normal a bit. This fork is causing more issues than it is probably worth but the market doesnt care about what is good or what is not. The market goes where the participants

are going and right now they are trading in for btc so they can get some btc gold. When this blows over things should go back to being more normal whatever that means in cryptos  Cheesy

I think this was inevitable situation. No altcoins were overpriced as hell. I think they won't recover until we see bear movement in bitcoin. Or some exceptionally good performance with that 1 specific altcoin.
