Hello, Taoist sympathizer here.
You are gravely mistaken. The authoritarian Communist Party of China, with its central planning and top-down power structure, is the antithesis of Taoism.
You are confusing Taoism, which is libertarian in nature, with Confucianism, which emphasizes rigid adherence to rules and regulations.
That mistake caused 100 million Chinese to starve when the crops failed due to the inefficiencies inherent in totalitarian command and control agricultural policies.
You cannot force the invisible hand of the market. It is an emergent property beyond the control of dictators and bureaucrats.
A Taoist intuitively understands that fact without effort, while a Confucian struggles forever to grasp that there are limits to State power.
It would be wonderful if China were indeed Taoist, but the wicked, greedy, cruel Confucians drove them from the halls of power long ago.
Do you need me to tell you that sad, tragic story also? I'm here to help.
