Wow this sounds like it will be a huge success.  Roll Eyes
Humanity is in the rebellious teenager stage right now, we haven't even really left the nest yet.  Once we grow up the Earth and all the life on it will be much better for it because we will spread it everywhere we go.

Without humans, who's going to nuke the giant asteroid hurling toward Earth as we speak? The f*ckin' whales? Who's going to launch the space ark when the Sun expands into a red giant?

Choosing not to breed to reduce Earth's population is a great idea because in the future when we have intergalactic space ships and all the planets we want, the Human species will be descended from people who understand that science advances exponentially and only appears linear when you look at small time ranges. You do realize you can buy a plastic hat for $300 (Emotiv Epoc) which reads simple thoughts from your mind and allows you to play video games by thinking, right? Yes, a mind reading hat. So don't tell me we're not on an exponential curve quickly approaching having all the planets we want. We still need to protect the environment while we get there (and after we leave, since animals and plants have right to not go extinct too), but it won't be so long that breeding should be affected. If the mind reading hat isn't enough reason to believe the exponential advancement of science, consider what would happen when we start networking peoples' minds together through the internet, when the 2-way (not just reading your mind) hat is sold and software invented to use it. We may skip the flying cars and go straight to starships, with a collective mind like that figuring out science for us, a mind that is us. Probably half of us will have the option to leave this galaxy within our lifetimes. With a schedule like that, we should try to get the economy decentralized (Bitcoin or other cryptocurrencies) within the next few years, because we have a lot of work to do, but its not an absolute requirement since the collective mind would obsolete money since its a better way to organize 7 billion people. Its mostly a question of when and which order, not if. The speed of light limit is not a problem for those alien ships many people have seen (not including the fakers), and it won't be a problem for us either, or if you don't think aliens exist, theres still the faster than light expansion of some parts of the universe, so the speed of light is more of a statistical observation than a law. Voluntary Human Extinction Movement still sound like a good idea for a long-term plan?

I stand by my position that long term having humans around is better for life on and from Earth.

Even if we aren't ready yet to deal with giant chunks of space debris coming our way, we'll eventually be.

Without humans, who will shoot out giant meteors that are coming to blow up the Earth?

Although not voluntarily, soft kill has already been implemented by TPTB
(every device is profit producing for companies & banks)

Engineered nuclear reactor disasters
Unnatural and GMO foods & Monsanto seeds
Fluoride & chlorine in drinking water
Infant & child vaccines
Prescription drugs
Sea food kill by designed mega oil spills
Individual stress by unpayable "created" debt
Family stress by planned major housing bubble crash
Self-sustainment lethargy through government handouts
Fear by growing lawless police state
etc.

This might be the best chance to save our planet.

If you want to solve a really hard problem then you need a few more Einsteins and other really exceptional geniuses. Do you know how you get more geniuses? You create a few more billion people and a certain percentage of them will be exceptionally smart.

Besides, what good is a pristine planet when there's nobody around to enjoy it?

Without humans, who will shoot out giant meteors that are coming to blow up the Earth? And who will build arks to keep the stream of life originated on Earth from ultimatly going completly extinct when the Sun goes red giant?

It seems that long term, from the point of view of Earth's life, humans are a necessary evil...
