To hell with the war, everyone is tired of it, we need to end it as it is, no one wins.

I am certainly tired of it, I can assure you. When the news comes at noon, all I hear about is casualties and destruction, both in the middle east and also in the east of europe.
However, whether we like it or not we must open our eyes and realize something: there is actually people who wins with war, and those are the sharesholders of companies which are the biggest manufacturers of weapons and military equipment for western countries, the so called warmongers.
As long as war continues to be a business for those people, then unfortunately we will continue to see disgraces like these ones happening.

I smell a bot on a newby account trying to promote a surrender of someone.

Syria's solution is a damm difficult one. You can get one of the players out like in Game of Thrones - minus one Ruzzia, at least for now, but it is nearly impossible to convince Turkiya that they are all right with having the Kurds at their doorstep, not to mention Iran and the Kurds are not going to stop fighting for their independence. An of course, the US has their own plans - hint: they dislike Iran, as of now.

Any agreement that does not take that into account is just vain talk.

No anti-Russia force is capable of effecting that kind of change in Syria in that manner.  Did you notice their signatures in the event? They were somewhat involved though, but hoped to create choas, destroy Syrian cities and cause Russia and the Syrian head to war against Israel. But Russia was unwilling to go in that kind of battle, so she made a deal with the current government to avoid that choas. It's not really about lack of resource since Syria's head will be the one paying for the war. And Russia will sell lots of military hardware which she currently produce in abundance.

Everything happened for the interest of Israel, Syrians, the cities especially Damascus. If anti Russia forces were in control, the current government of Syria would've been anti Russia.  I noticed the anti Russia forces are currently putting pressure on the current Syrian government to kick Russia out. But they can't influence a government they don't control.

By the way, this has nothing to do with Ukraine. It's mostly about Israel. I believe Russia has enough resource to continue the SMO in Donbass and Ukraine for many years. What we should be worried about is the soldiers becoming addicted to fighting and unwilling to stop. Also, won't be surprised if the Russians think the war made Russia richer and more influential, and fear that stopping would make them poor/weak.

It is interesting to see how some people are cheering for al-Qaeda temporary victory in Syria just because NATO was backing them.

Many people still say that war is a crime and that terrorists must be destroyed because they cause too much loss and pain. But sadly they are cheering on what is happening in Syria, on al-Qaeda terrorists. It seems that the only thing they care about is that the superpower status of the country they admire will not be lost. They feel happy when their favorite country's opponents are weakened, they do not care about the survival of any country or the lives of people who are not their relatives, as they say every day.
It has become the action of the powerful against the weak countries where their sovereignty has no value. Land is being occupied across borders in their beloved homeland and we, the people of the world, are sitting in the gallery in the audience. Animals rejoice in the valley of death where bulldozers are driven over the bodies of children.

I has been the war in Ukraine has sucked up all of Ruzzias resources and what was a quick "operation" has become a three year war. The Ruble has collapsed and Ruzzia had to call for support from North Korea, even to get enough soldiers.

If anyone needed a sign of how Ruzzia has become weaker that ever, the loss of Syria is one of a kind.
What else do we expect in a state of war that has lasted for couple of years and seems unending in a close time?
I guess a that juncture, Russia is not generating enough revenues and their source of resources is being too productive to enable them get equip as ought to amidst the war with Ukraine.

Perhaps... They don't have subordinates backing them up at the critical times so if they are likely friendly with the North Korea, of course they would ask for help as much the US is providing every necessary supports to the Ukrains.

I personally do not expect much, I am not fully aware of how far can Putin take his society down the drain - pensions, healcare, education, population growth, inflation, interest rates before considering the issue "closed". The problem may be that by the time he wants to "close the issue" he may just not be able to.

The new Syrian regime is not going to create enemies in minute zero. They will first make sure that all the mechanisms of power are well grasped and the region under control and then they will decide who is ally and who is not. It is not impossible that Ruzzia keeps a base, in fact there is another country in the world that does have an US base and a Ruzzian base.

This isn't over by a long shot. Russia hasn't simply capitulated. There is even a posibility that the forces that messed up Syria will join Russia against the US.

Kremlin Admits The Fate Of Its Syrian Bases Is Undecided

"There are no final decisions on this," Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told a press briefing. "We are in contact with representatives of the forces that now control the situation in the country."

Likely Moscow is pressing representatives of Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS), which holds Damascus, to at least temporarily give assent to the continued Russian military presence on the coast.

The Tartus Naval Base remains Russia's only Mediterranean military port. And alongside Khmeimim Air Base, these are the only two major Russian military outposts outside the former Soviet Union.

They are strategic and crucial for Russia's operations in the Middle East and North Africa, and a full closure of these bases would be a logistical blow in the region for Moscow. It would also signal Russia's waning influence in the Middle East, also at a moment the Pentagon continues occupying Syria's northeast.

Moscow has been busy evacuating both diplomatic staff and some military assets from Syria, as Maxar satellite photos show.

Since the HTS takeover of Damascus there have been no reported incidents of Russian troops or the bases coming under fire; however, Moscow forces are on high alert.

The last several days have seen huge Russian armored and troop convoys withdrawing from the capital area and some other parts of Syria, headed to the safety of Hmeimim airbase in Latakia province. Assets like anti-air defense missiles are being flown out, and will likely be repositioned related to the war in Ukraine.

Several videos have emerged showing significant amounts of Russian equipment being moved to the coast. Negotiations with the new leaders in Damascus for Russia's bases to be maintained appear to be ongoing.

Washington is likely to press the powers that be in Damascus to force a Russian military exit from the country. And certainly HTS leaders themselves are not going to trust Moscow, given that it was Russian forces for years bombing its enclave of Idlib in support of the Syrian Army.

They have already come up with the idea that Ukrainians helped the Syrian rebels, Russia's propaganda is so funny Grin

They might to be honest. I mean, they are at war with Ruzzia so destroying Ruzzia's economy and equipment is fighting for them. I do not think however that these two regimes have anything in common in that sense - one is a liberal democracy, pro-western while the other seems an Islamic regime.

There are some promising news regarding Ruzzia not being able to negotiate with the new regime to keep the bases. I am sure Anthony Blinken is going to be busy making sure that is the case. For now the new Syrian goverment is "guaranteing a safe retreat" not a safe stay.

Ruzzia was the main international backer of Al- Asad regime in Syria. What was pretty much the only military significant port that Ruzzia had left in the Mediterranean (Tartus) was leased by Al-Asad's regime. This allowed Ruzzia to have a close military presence in the middle east. Now, their puppet in Syria Al-Asad is in Moscow while the government has been seized by radical islamists.

Asad made the same mistake Zelensky is making - he relied too much on help from partners, and then his army simply refused to fight and deserted. Help from partners is not when partners do everything for you. Ukraine is now happy about the possible loss of Russian military bases in Syria, when it is high time to try on Syria's fate for itself.

This is history in the making.

The kind of stuff grade school kids around the world will be studying in history class a few decades from now. But we will see whether or not it was a good thing that Assad's regime fell. I am hoping yes, but It is too soon to tell. This may cause problems in unforeseen ways.

Why waste time on a port that they don't need, especially when Syria doesn't talk BRICS in a practical way.
