Hello, where would I purchase one of your 2.5gh units?
It is my belief that COOPs directly reflect the very idea of Bitcoin. This allows for the a direct relationship of a distributed network to distributed thought, research, and execution of tasks to benefit said network. As long as the COOP is enacted properly and there are checks and balances in place to keep it from becoming detrimental to the community it can only help grow said community. The COOP must have the right members and strict rules in place to control membership and projects working towards a common goal and greater good. It can't become political where money is the driving factor, but must be able to sustain itself or the search for funding will dictate its actions. It must be ran with input from all facets related to it and be ran Systematically and Scientifically to assure the proper choices and processes are being made.
I see a lot of DIY and Open Hardware as the strength of the cooperative and working together with multiple cooperatives across the planet a lot more can be achieved but also it would reduce a lot of the desperation that is dealing companies in Bitcoin that basically have only a profit motive. Given the examples of ASIC miner production the worst COOP would probably be far better than what we have seen done so far to the community so the perfect COOP not really required to improve the current conditions.
