let's make a deal.
scam = auroracoin

You're an idiot. Was Auroracoin different to what the creators said it was? Were you somehow deceived and lied to about what the coin was?

Lets keep it simple do you understand language, specifically the English one?

how will the airdrop occur?

what national database of icelanders are you using?

auroracoin's developer is anonymous, and is likely to launder the airdrop currency because he has refused any type of accountability, detailed plan, or logistics for the airdrop.

It's funny how many 1st gen crypto adopters run around tossing scam accusations at alts when the majority of the real world that lives outside their little Asperger bubble think Bitcoin is a scam and many are too blind to see that.

I won't lie, I'm one of the newbies who jumped into crypto after seeing Bitcoin's immense rise and wanting a piece of the pie, but it shocked me when I came in and saw how many people with big BTC holdings talk like 14 year-olds, throwing around vulgarities like "motherfuck this" or "shit that", engaging in flame wars with anyone who challenges their world paradigm, who blindly put faith in criminals like Karpeles or Shrem for years while being suspicious of any new alt coin developer as a scammer, and who think trollboxes should be standard on international exchange sites setup to handle millions in transaction revenue.

 All I want to know is where is the professionalism? I know there are times for jokes and not being serious all the time but I honestly feel like it's a zoo or high school around here sometimes.

What i don't understand is how NXT is described as a scam when the creators have every right to make 100% of early profit as the actual creators of the technology. But somehow clones of NXT aren't scams? Now I have no problem with clones but imagine Apple produces a product and sells it, absolutely no one has a problem with that, but if someone copies the product they would be perceived as the scam not Apple.

Coins are a virtual world but they take effort, skill and time to produce. Therefore in the example of NXT they deserve early profit. Also its no clear the founders made 100% of profit as the IPO was open but people didn't take the offer. So for me labelling NXT a scam has been the worst use of the word. I personally think it was the miners that hates the IPO idea cause it stopped their easily got profits.

A scam is someone who by deception steals money off people. Whatever a coin promises even if its a billions coins for them and gives only 100 publicly is not a scam if they state this is what they plan to do. So therefore a scam has to have an element of deception and not giving the coin that was promised in the IPO. Everything else is fair game and as long as people know what they are getting into then its up to them if they want to take the offer or not.

scam = a rip off
scammer = someone who scams another
So I sell you an orange for .10 which you consider it a bargain. You bought it for .00001. You scammed another considering you could get whatever oranges for the price you sold one orange.

I noticed this word being thrown out at every coin thats making money while coins doing poorly are hardly ever get mentioned, no doubt this word is used mostly by

- jealous people
- negative people in general that just love to spread hate or maybe some dont realize theyre negging
- butthurt people who got burned in the past
- competitors (competitor investors)
- and some other factors

I mean I've lost some as well before but I just learned from them.. but some people its getting pretty ridicoulous

Same with bitcoins and all the bad news given to them by the haters and media. Its just a sick non stop neg cycle whether people are into bitcoin, altcoins or the stock markets

I agree with you. When a real scam happens it's harder to notice and take seriously because of all those people screaming scam at every little inconvenience they have.

actually butthurt people are the most important people. Their experience is invaluable and we have a lot to learn from them if we dont want to get burned the same way.

You actually beat me to the post!
I agree, every coin is being called a scam these days.

And yes, while some are pure scams (usually animal-coins) some have real intent behind them.

Personaly i believe, 99.99% coins are a copy-paste of bitcoin/litecoin source.
In my optinion, for a coin, even a copy paste one, to be successful, you need value for the coin.

You want a coin to make it big, start offering some services/merchandise for the coin.

First Exclusion Ever
....or there is just so much fraud now the word has become meaningless to noobs so they have to get burned before they learn their lesson. Oddly enough this is why more scams happen as well.
