Yes. Are people ready to be accountable for their own money? No. Too much personal responsibility.
Lack of responsibility only means they won't ever learn responsibility. Responsibility must be given, and mistakes made, for responsibility to be learned.MyBitcoin was a great example. People were so used to only be robbed by institutionalized traders, and not by small pot ones, that blindly trusted some wallet. Then disaster ensued.
It amazes me that people hadn't already learned this lesson prior to Bitcoin.
I was thrilled to have such control over my wallet, I couldn't imagine giving up that control to some random internet website. Hell, I was using sterile offline storage methods long before that. I guess I'm paranoid.
